…thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. (Psalm 138:2)
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; (1 Timothy 2:5 )
Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.(Hebrews 7:25)
My analysis
I really feel pity for people like Mr. Kaggwa Andrew who have been deceived by Roman Catholicism. I have communicated with Catholics for some time. I’m so amazed by their ignorance of the scriptures and their inconsistent reasoning while defending what they believe. Catholicism is indeed witchcraft, it is amazing how Catholics recite the same flawed arguments as if they are robots. The bible says that God has magnified his word even above his name( Psalms 138:2). Scripture does not say that God has magnified traditions of men above his word. Therefore it is with the word of God that I’m going to test Mr. Kaggwa Andrew’s assertions.
Mr. Kaggwa Andrew argues that ‘’The technical meaning of Catholic is “all things”; Catholic means all Christians or the whole Christian church. Taking yourself away from being a Catholic means you are not part of the universal church, or are separating yourself from it and Jesus. It’s funny but all Christians regardless of title and denomination are Catholics’’. Catholic means ‘all things’- this is interesting, you mean even ducks, geese, trees, stones and scorpions are catholic!!!!. He does not seem to know the difference between catholic and roman catholic church. How can Jesus be associated and expect his followers to associate with an institution such as the Roman catholic church which arges its followers to pray to the dead(Deut.18:10-11), pray the rosary, indulge it extra biblical rituals and traditions of men. etc . It is written that cursed is he who trusts in man(Jer.17:5). Scripture further cautions us to watch out against deception through philosophy and vain deceit whose purpose is to make us follow the traditions of men instead of following Christ(col.2:8).
Mr. Kaggwa Andrew argues that ‘’Many people do not understand the values of Mary and the Saints… The respect we give Mary is a sign of gratitude and honour. It’s useless to honour and respect the son but abuse his mother. Even African wise men knew that thus the proverb, “A man who says his father’s wives are bad, includes himself and his mother” or “A man who disrespects his mother has no respect for himself.” Note how he prefers to defend his ‘argument’ using an African proverb instead of the word of God. Catholics do not want to admit that they worship Mary. They argue that they simply respect and honour Mary. If it is simply respect and honour, why make statues for Mary and even kneel before them? Why build temples for Mary. Did the Apostles and believers in the Book of acts do this? Where did this kind of behavior come from. Certainly from paganism.
Mr. Kaggwa Andrew argues that ‘’Mary is the mother of Christianity because the root and the origin of Christianity is Jesus, her son. “Christian” is simply an identity for all the followers of Christ. It’s a signature i.e. people from Uganda are Ugandans, Kenya has Kenyans and the followers of Christ are Christians’’….Respect for Mary is realising her role in saving this world. Praying through Mary is an intervention. When we sin, many of us can’t face God directly for we know our deeds are not right, we ask the mother to talk to the son for he will listen to her and have mercy. This should remind us that much as Jesus is divine, he was also human; he lived on earth, and like any human with scruples, he respected and still respects his mother. In John 1(2.1-12) Mary’s importance was evident in the Bible, when the others could not face Jesus because they were out of wine; Mary walked to Jesus and told him. Jesus obeyed his mother and changed water into wine, his first miracle’’. The role of Mary was to bare the son Jesus. Jesus is the savoir not Mary. It is Jesus who atoned for our sin, not Mary(Matthew 1:21). In fact, in (Luke 1:46) even Mary calls the Lord Jesus Christ her savoir. What a humble servant of the Lord Jesus Christ! The word Christians comes form Christ. Andrew does not seem to differentiate between genuine Christians and counterfeit Christians. He thinks even Mormons and Jehovah witnesses are true Christians. The bible says they were first called Christians at Antioch(Acts 11:19-26). It is amazing that Catholicism is so different from the Christianity in the book of acts.
John 1(2.1-12) shows that the Mary of the bible is very different from the Mary of Roman catholicism. The Mary of the bible points people to Jesus while the Mary of Roman Catholicism points to herself. The catholic Mary calls her self a mediator between God and Men (1 Timothy 2:5) and the door of heaven. This is pure blasphemy. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only mediator between men and God, he is the only door of the sheep(John 10:9) whoever enters by this door shall be saved. In John 1(2.1-12) Jesus called Mary a WOMAN and not mother. The Lord Jesus Christ was trying to show that he is God and Mary is a mere created human being.
Mr. Kaggwa Andrew argues that ‘’A saint is a person the Catholic Church recognizes as being holy because of the way they have lived or died. Christ usually manifests his divine nature through these people. When they die, they can’t simply be regarded as dead/late. They are so close to God that prayer through them to God can also work miracles. Saints have all lived extraordinary lives or died for what they believe true.Saints are not simply ordinary believers but almost one with God, having suffered stigmatas (wounds of Christ i.e. Fr Padre Pio), enjoyed their painful deaths (Uganda Martyrs sang as they burnt away), and given up all their wealth to preach the Gospel (though many are preaching to gain wealth today). They are not dead people but followers who have acquired the status that Jesus’ own disciples enjoyed. They are not dead because their influence still drives more people’’
In Roman Catholic theology, the saints are in Heaven. In the Bible, the saints are on earth. In Roman Catholic teaching, a person does not become a saint unless he/she is “beatified” or “canonized” by the Pope or prominent bishop. In the Bible, everyone who has received Jesus Christ by faith is a saint. In Roman Catholic practice, the saints are revered, prayed to, and in some instances, worshipped. In the Bible, saints are called to revere, worship, and pray to God alone. (http://www.gotquestions.org/saints-Christian.html)
What are Christian saints according to the Bible?

The word of God Categorically calls all born again believers saints . Apostle Paul in most of his letters begins by saluting the saints(ie born again beleivers concecrated to God). Therefore all born again christians are called saints. You do not need the authority of man, the Pope and his bishops to be declared a saint.Amen. Flee the catholic satanic system now. It is a billion miles away from the word of God. it is an antichrist system that leads to hell.Check out theses scriptures(see how apostle Paul calls believers saints).
1Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, 2Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's: (1 Corinthians 1:1-2)
1Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus: 2Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.( Ephesians 1:1-2)
1Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons: 2Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 1: 1-2)
1Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother, 2To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. (Colossians 1:1-2)

Many people do not understand the values of Mary and the Saints. The importance of Mary should be noted by all Christians who believe in Jesus Christ, writes Kaggwa Andrew.
On Monday15, June, Sanyu FM’s Breakfast with Fat Boy and Melanie were trying to solve a problem. A lady was concerned that her young sister was dating a born again Christian man who had started changing her that she had even done away with attending mass.
I am a Catholic and like the others, I could tell Yvonne (I do not remember if it was her name) to mind her business though we all know these are almost two different sectors; they constantly attack each other and usually go against each other’s values. Well, I wish to point out and correct some “facts” that Melanie made about the Catholic Church during the show.
Melanie said she does not belong to any denomination. But neither do we, we are just Catholics. The technical meaning of Catholic is “all things”; Catholic means all Christians or the whole Christian church. Taking yourself away from being a Catholic means you are not part of the universal church, or are separating yourself from it and Jesus. It’s funny but all Christians regardless of title and denomination are Catholics.
The respect we give Mary is a sign of gratitude and honour. It’s useless to honour and respect the son but abuse his mother. Even African wise men knew that thus the proverb, “A man who says his father’s wives are bad, includes himself and his mother” or “A man who disrespects his mother has no respect for himself.”
Mary is the mother of Christianity because the root and the origin of Christianity is Jesus, her son. “Christian” is simply an identity for all the followers of Christ. It’s a signature i.e. people from Uganda are Ugandans, Kenya has Kenyans and the followers of Christ are Christians.
Respect for Mary is realising her role in saving this world.
Jesus obeyed his mother and changed water into wine, his first miracle. This goes even for the conversions; in the public eye, the Catholic church will not tell who has converted or not. For Melanie to say that Tony Blair has been the only attractive thing to happen in the Catholic Church in the past few years was just a personal assessment.
I’m too proud too; I can’t mention any converts because, again, faith is neither a trend nor trade. Conversion is a process, not occasional; Blair might have declared himself Catholic in 2007 but the process might have started as early as 2004. Accepting Christ involves changing the way we act, think, treat others, live our lives etc. All this cannot change all of a sudden when you listen to a pastor/ priest preach, much as his message may impact you.
We let converts understand Christ, prayer, fasting, and knowing their Christian virtues before we start giving them the paparazzi attention. About the gifts of the Holy Spirit, it’s not possible for one to teach the other how to speak in tongues if God did not give you the gift in the first place. If all believers get the gift of performing miracles, who will need assistance in the church? If all believers speak in tongues, how will the new converts understand the message? Who will interpret it?
When Melanie said something about “…when the father wants to teach children how to speak in tongues,” I felt the need to tell her that these are not taught. These are God-given gifts not to be advertised to the public.
God can give his gifts to everyone and contrary to what Melanie thinks, we believe in God talking to individuals; every time a voice tells you to do right against wrong, it’s the voice of God. Not all people that God talks to become saints. A saint is a person the Catholic Church reognises as being holy because of the way they have lived or died. Christ usually manifests his divine nature through these people. When they die, they can’t simply be regarded as dead/late. They are so close to God that prayer through them to God can also work miracles. Saints have all lived extraordinary lives or died for what they believe true.
Saints are not simply ordinary believers but almost one with God, having suffered stigmatas (wounds of Christ i.e.
They are not dead because their influence still drives more people to God even today. Saints pray for us to God in ways we can’t. It might not be written in the Bible but again when Jesus went to fast for 40 days, it was not written that we should carry on the practice yet we all do it and it’s not wrong.
