Roman Catholicism and the worship of the dead XVI: Corpse of saint Valentine kept inside altar in Missouri US

Corpse of saint Valentine kept inside altar in Missouri US

http://ivarfjeld.com/2013/04/23/corpse-of-catholic-saint-valentine-kept-inside-the-alter-in-missouri-us/

Saint Valentine died in 270 A.D. His skull is kept in Rome, while his waxed body is kept inside an altar in a Church in Missouri, USA.

Old Saint Ferdinand’s Shrine in Florissant Missouri have a 1740 year old saint kept as a wax figure. Not only inside the Church, but inside the altar it self.

A Roman Catholic priest perform the mas, with a corpse kept inside the altar.

The shrine of Old St. Ferdinands Church holds the corpse of Saint Valentine.
The saint is Valentine, which Papal day of remembrance in February the 14th, the day lovers give each other gifts.
The head of the waxed saint is obviously a copy. Because the “holy skull” of Valentine is kept for display in a Church in Rome. The Church is Chiesa di Santa Maria in Cosmedin.

The skull of Saint Valentines is kept for adoration and veneration inside a Church in Rome.
The Catholic Church in Florissant, Missouri is located 17 highway miles northwest of downtown Saint Louis. This is perhaps the oldest church in the Louisiana Purchase territory, dating from 1819.

The Church in Rome that keeps the “Holy skull” of Valestine.
The “Old Cathedral” we know today was built in 1834. While it is an older congregation, the church building at St. Ferdinand is the oldest structure surviving by fourteen years.
Source for these pictures:
Relics of St. Valentine, thought to be a gift of the King of France to Bishop Louis DuBourg, are in a wax replica of St. Valentine in front of the altar.
Inside this Church, you will also find the relics of Mother Duchesne.  She was declared venerable in 1900, beatified in 1940, and canonized in 1988.
The museum has a collection of dolls in historical nuns’ habits. The loss of the habit after the Second Vatican Council seems to have led to a loss of identity in some religious orders.
This is the words of a visitor of this Catholic shrine:
Under the altar is a wax effigy, containing relics of Saint Valentine, Roman martyr, from A.D. 270. As a young child visiting this church, I was horrified by this dead body under the altar, and to make it worse, it was the Saint of Valentine’s Day greeting card fame!
My comment:
To keep a corpse inside the altar of a Church, is nothing but demonic. It is the very mother of all religious insanity presented as “Christianity” . The only difference between keeping an embalmed Lenin in the Kremlin and a corpse of a Catholic saint, is that the Communists do not claim to be Christians.

The corpse of Saint Valentine inside the altar of a Catholic shrine in the US.

The embalmed corpse of Lenin kept inside the Kremlin in Moscow.
Let the living saints of Jesus understand warn others. Because  the supporters of the papal system are on their bumpy ride towards the eternal flames of Hell.  Everlasting pain and agony will be their very rewards for this kind of wickedness.

How positively awful.Thank you for exposing this as I had no idea that St Valentine had Catholic origins in such a detestable way. Oh how the world loves valentines day! I am ashamed to the bottom of my heart that as a Christian to date I have thought of this as ok.
    Never again-

Each time I read an exposed article from Ivar, I am more aware of how deeper and deeper the pope and his believers are digging their way down.
I simply ownly pray that they see the truth “Christ our Messiah and the Only” before it’s too late.

very few, even among professing Christians, know how deeply embedded Catholicism is in our culture. At least here in the US it is.
The pastors of the true church have no business teaching and condoning the honoring of these dates of Catholic origin.
But then they seem to be guiding their flocks right into the arms of the Pope himself with their ecumenical activities.
very distressing to me because I left the Catholic church when I was saved, and I will never go back.
I have friends that I have fellowshipped with at one time, that have gone back to attending the Mass.
I blame the pastors who water down the gospel, never teach in depth any doctrine, and join ecumenical activities. That’s the perfect way to prepare people to foolishly join the harlot’s church.

Thank you for this post. Would like to point out though saints and their relics (i.e. bodies, clothing, etc.) are not “adored”, but merely venerated and revered. Adoration implies worship, and conveying that to anyone other than the one true triune God would be idolatry. Saints are venerated much like the way photographs and possessions of loved ones are treasured, but even more so. They have achieved in their lifetime, with God’s grace, saintly holiness, by the way they lived. Therefore their bodies were temples of the Holy Spirit in the truest sense. That is why their relics are given a special place in the Church.
Just wanted to provide a little bit of clarification for those who seek it. Thank you very much! God bless you.

      Dear Nathalie
Shalom, and welcome to this site.
The Roman Catholic Church have many explanations for why Catholics should not follow the instruction of God of the Bible.
The living saints are the Temple of the Holy Spirit. The dead do no longer have any power, besides what demons might give them.
The dead are supposed to be buried, and will face the final judgment. The RCC loot their graves, bring the skulls and bones into their Churches, and bow down to them, and kiss them.
      Genesis 23:4
“I am a foreigner and stranger among you. Sell me some property for a burial site here so I can bury my dead.”
      Isaiah 19:3
The Egyptians will lose heart, and I will bring their plans to nothing; they will consult the idols and the spirits of the dead, the mediums and the spiritists.
      Luke 9:60
Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”
      Natalie.
Leave these mockers, and beg for mercy. And Jesus the Messiah will save you. If not, all your good intentions, will bring you into the eternal fire of Hell.
  4. Matthew W. I. Dunn says:
“Moses took the bones of Joseph with him because Joseph had made the Israelites swear an oath. He had said, ‘God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up with you from this place’” (Exod 13:19)
“So he immediately sent an executioner with orders to bring John’s head. The man went, beheaded John in the prison, and brought back his head on a platter. He presented it to the girl, and she gave it to her mother. On hearing of this, John’s disciples came and took his body and laid it in a tomb” (Mark 6:27-9)
Please, read your scriptures better before condemning.
To compare honoring someone (i.e., St. Valentine) who was killed for his faith in Jesus Christ with an atheist and despiser of the Faith could be considered a sin against the Holy Spirit (see Mark 3:28-30).

      Dear Matthew W.L.
Shalom, and welcome to this site.
I am not a skull expert. But someone told me, that some of the skulls kept for display inside Roman Catholic Churches, are not of humans.
      What do you think?
Its difficult to verify its origin, since there was no DNA test done on the deceased man, or animal.

Matthew W.I.Dunn said to Ivar:”Please, read your scriptures better before condemning.”
I can’t help but reply to the scriptures you gave to support what the Catholics do with their dead “Saints.” So, my question to you is: From the scriptures you gave, where does it say to dig up the bones, put them in open display and venerate them? How about any where in the Bible does it say that?
      • Victoria says:
P.S. I do think Ivar should be careful before condemning. In fact, he should not be doing that at all.
      • Gloria says:
I do believe everything that Ivar replies from now or states, Victoria you will have a problem with. There is no condemnation in Ivar’s response to Matthew.
Isn’t better for you to strongly disagree with someone, and show them the way to Christ by giving them scriptures, then to sit there and placate someone?
      • Victoria says:
        Gloria,
You falsely judge me, not everything Ivar says from now on I have a problem with. Maybe you are guilty of what you falsely accuse me of? Maybe everything I say for now on you will have a problem with?
I told the truth. Now, the Bible says don’t play favorites, Gloria, you favored Ivar over the truth. No one should condemn others. And, the Bible does not say to dig up bones, display and venerate them. Now stop trying to correct me where there is no correction to be done.
      • Gloria says:
        Victoria,
Your comment: I told the truth. Now, the Bible says don’t play favorites, Gloria, you favored Ivar over the truth.
My Comment: One of the silliest comments I’ve ever heard.
        God’s Word is the truth!
      • Victoria says:
I spoke God’s Word. We are not to condemn others, and we are not to play favorites. What’s so silly about that?
  5. Samantha from U.S.A. says:
The reason saints’ bodies are displayed, is because they have defied all laws of physics and been preserved, without embalming or any special conditions. They did not even mummify; they’re just preserved. This, as far as can be explained, is clearly a miracle and a validation of viewing them as saints. It’s earthly evidence of the divine.
If God wanted them to be buried and left alone like typical human bodies, they would have rotted away naturally like anyone else. But all of these saints were special and blessed, and the preservation of their bodies proves this.
So, why would God keep their bodies whole, except as a message to us followers? Burying and forgetting them would deprive people of strong evidence of God’s existence. While blind faith is definitely the preferred path of a follower, it can help doubters start believing when they have a little evidence of the divine.
It’s one small way God speaks to us, lets us know He is there and we are not forgotten. By showing us that if you truly walked in His footsteps, your body may become a message through hundreds of years in testament.
If the bodies had been just left in the ground, this message God sends to everyone would be wasted.
Lenin was embalmed and kept in specific preserving conditions. But the bodies of saints were preserved by nothing, and scientists have no explanation for it. It’s a miracle, and miracles deserve to be viewed, because miracles are all messages from God. Followers who respect/kiss these relics, see them as a communication pathway to God, because God is obviously touching them to keep them preserved.
And by the way… Judge not lest ye be judged. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. And lastly, not a quote but a summary… To believe you are worthy of passing judgment on the souls of others, you are claiming to have a duty and ability that only God has, which is blasphemy. Let God choose who is heading to Hell, and meanwhile do your duty bestowed upon us by Him, of being compassionate and caring to all, not judgmental or accusatory. God bless you.
  6. John Ruedisueli says:
I hate to be short, but a person that truly desires to know God and share that desire with others will not spend time bashing another faith, but will bring others to the truth by their love and the resulting actions.
If you have to defame another religion to “bring people to the faith” then perhaps you should examine your own and your own lack of faith.
Remember that FAITH is a GIFT from God.
    Peace,
    John
    • JimmieKrackKorn says:
John are you justifying corpse adoration?
Or veneration or just mildly interested in the corpse. I have come to believe that it is semantics with word worship. Means one thing to Bible Believing Christians, something else to Pope followers.
  7. NIcholas says:
The veneration (not worship) of relics, including the bodies of saints, goes back to the early Church. and is based in part on the following:
“Now when Elisha had fallen sick with the illness of which he was to die, Joash king of Israel went down to him, and wept before him … So Elisha died, and they buried him. Now bands of Moabites used to invade the land in the spring of the year. And as a man was being buried, lo, a marauding band was seen and the man was cast into the grave of Elisha; and as soon as the man touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood on his feet.” (2 Kings 13:14,20-21 RSV)
Clearly, God HAS saints, and clearly, God can CHOOSE to heal people through them or even via their BONES if He so chooses. Who are you to say otherwise? It’s Scriptural. Miracles related to relics come from God, responding to prayer from the afflicted, or to intercession OF the saints. Praying to saints (not worshiping them) is Scriptural too, as prayer isn’t just worship, it can also be conversation:
In Rev. 5:8, St. John sees 24 elders with harps fall down before the Lamb. They hold golden bowls of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people. In Rev. 8:3-4, an ANGEL with a golden censer filled with incense and the prayers of the saints, brings these to God. Why would an angel BRING our prayers to God? Because we may pray to God directly, or we may also pray to (but not worship) angels and saints, asking THEM to take our prayers to God for us. The saints on earth and the saints in heaven make up the CHURCH. We are a family.

Pope praises “saint” kept as dressed skeleton in Italy

      http://ivarfjeld.com/2013/04/22/pope-praises-saint-kept-as-dressed-skeleton-in-italy/

“The shining figure of St. Ambrose, your heavenly patron, who was suddenly called to the episcopate, having to abandon a brilliant career as a senior civil servant.”

The "shining figure" of a saint, according to the Pope in Rome.
These are the words of the Pope.
During a meeting Friday with Italy’s provincial regulators, Pope Benedict XVI held up the 4th-century governor-turned-bishop, St. Ambrose of Milan, as a model of a just administrator.
“This holy Bishop and Doctor of the Church, animated by so great a love and respect for state institutions as for those ecclesial, is an extraordinary example of rectitude, especially his loyalty to the law and firmness against injustice and oppression,” Pope Benedict said in his Oct. 14 address to the 110 prefects of Italy.
The Pope held the special audience with at the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican to mark the 150th anniversary of Italian unification.
    Source: CNA

The "saint of Milan is adored by Italians.
    My comment:
The Pope is the main promoter of adoration, veneration and worship of skull, bones and corpses.
“Saint” Ambrose is only one of these shining figures that Holy see wants faithful followers wants to adore.  The RCC is a death cult, with a man claiming to be “holy father” as their head.
     Matthew 23:27
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean.
The skull and bones of this corpse in Italy is 1.600 years old.

You don’t see this side of Catholicism most places. Googling him doesnt turn up much, but it says he wrote a treatise called “the goodness of death” , I couldn’t find the actual writing. In some other writings he appears to have been very crafty at turning white to black.

        Dear Tom.
        Shalom.
It is a huge spiritual tragedy, that any human being can brand such a grotesque sight, as fruits of anything but devilish wickedness. You have to be spiritual blindfolded by Satan to dress up a corpse. The Vatican priesthood have even put a golden crown on the head of a skull.
The Roman Catholic religion is NOT a part of the Christian family. It does not matter what reformed Bishops and pastors might claim. The Bible expose them as hypocritical liars. They have accepted an antichrist as the head of a “Church”, and even bowed before the Papacy as God”s replacement for “Christ” on Earth.

I totally agree Ive’s old chap, and I wouldn’t really like my dog to meet this bag of bones because I’m pretty careful what I feed him on. Dead mens bones are simply the bones of dead men. Jesus is not dead, he sits at the right hand of the Father. Amen,

Jesus is eternal God. God can not die. God is alive. Jesus is alive. When Jesus “died” on the cross, Satan thought he had won. What Satan did not understand, was that the blood of Jesus was going to be used to redeem mankind. Behold: The passover Lamb of God.
When Jesus rose from the grave, He displayed His divine eternal nature. Death was defeated. Once and for all.

Pope presents quartered “saint” as model for Church

Teresa of Avila was cut into pieces by priests and bishops. The Pope still proclaim the “saint” as a role model for the “Church”.

Two Carmelite nuns kiss a metal frame, which contains bones cut from a corpse not later that 1914.
Pope Benedict XVI believes that 16th-century Saint Teresa of Avila is a model for current efforts to launch the New Evangelization.
“The ultimate goal of Teresa’s reform and the creation of new monasteries in a world lacking spiritual values was to protect apostolic work with prayer,” the Pope said July 16.
          Source: CNA.
          My comment:
I will forever wounder what the purpose was, of putting gold rings on this metal frame?
People who do not know the history of the canonization of Teresa of Avila, will easily be deceived by the Pope.
But first lets take a look at some pictures from Spain, where most of her body parts are kept in different towns and cities.

The hand of the “saint” is kept for veneration and kissing in Spain.

A picture of the Fascist dictator of Spain together with the “holy hand”.

A Camerlite nun carries the bones from the corpse.
Lets read what a Catholic source has written about the tragic circumstances that lead to this human being being quartered, cut into pieces.
          This is recorded om Marypages.com
She died in 1582. Her body was exhumed several times after her death, and each time found sweet-smelling, firm, and incorrupt. Her heart, hands, right foot, right arm, left eye and part of her jaw are on display in various sites around the world.
It is off course strange that a corpse can be found “sweet smelling”.  Especially because the last exhumation took place as late as in  1914,  That was 332 years after her soul departed, and body supposed to be laid to rest.
But why cut the deceased person into pieces, and distribute these pieces of dead humans “around the world”?
           Jeremiah 25:6
Do not follow other gods to serve and worship them; do not provoke me to anger with what your hands have made. Then I will not harm you.”
You have to be pretty wicked and rather insane to cut the eye out of an exhumed body. In particular the eye, who might not see much after being in the grave for hundreds of years.  And in this case the “left eye”

What happened to the right eye, is not mentioned in any Roman Catholic source.  And I have search for this answer in quit a bit of them, in a bid so solve this mysterious cut. My best guess is that the right eye had rotten.
           Hosea 13:2
When Ephraim spoke, men trembled he was exalted in Israel. But he became guilty of Baal worship and died. Now they sin more and more; they make idols for themselves from their silver, cleverly fashioned images, all of them the work of craftsmen.
          Her er some more pictures:

The bones from the right arm of this “saint” in contained inside a glass tube, and presented on a golden stand.

Also the heart of this corpse were cut out and kept for display and adoration.

The left eye of the “saint” might be found in this collection of her relics. But not able to confirm.
Earlier I have questioned why Roman Catholic priests keep on cutting the heart out of the remains of human beings.
          What should be the purpose?
This claimed saint also had mental problems. But that is not a matter for this article. But you can read about her illness in a previous story on this blog.
The ancient Egyptians believed that people who disturbed the sleeping souls in the graves, released curses on their own head.  Not even the pagans in Egypt will approve off the grotesque grave looting performed by the Vatican priesthood.
It is difficult to find suitable words for the level of perversity in this kind of activities. But what I feel, is that God of the Bible will give such individuals sufficient time in Hell, to reflect on what they have done.
Be careful, so you do not end up in this hot and godforsaken place your self. Repent, and give your life to Jesus of Nazareth.

“To venerate the relics of the saints is a profession of belief in several doctrines of the Catholic faith: (1) the belief in everlasting life for those who have obediently witnessed to Christ and His Holy Gospel here on earth; (2) the truth of the resurrection of the body for all persons on the last day; (3) the doctrine of the splendor of the human body and the respect which all should show toward the bodies of both the living and the deceased; (4) the belief in the special intercessory power which the saints enjoy in heaven because of their intimate relationship with Christ the King; and (5) the truth of our closeness to the saints because of our connection in the communion of saints — we as members of the Church militant or pilgrim Church, they as members of the Church triumphant.”

Your Church on that matter is simply to contridict the word of God, Because people are being exhumed in other to be worship
            Veneration of the Dead
            The veneration and consultation of
            the dead are prohibited in
            Scripture (Deuteronomy 18:10-12).
In pagan worship, the dead were
venerated and buried in sites of
            worship. The God of Israel,
however, is the God of the living
and not of the dead. Anyone who
came into contact with a dead
person or a grave was considered
unclean and could not take part in
            worship (Numbers 19:16; Leviticus
            21:1).
In Catholicism, the worship of the
dead is continued in the veneration
of the saints. Catholic and Anglican
churches are shrines for the dead.
            In Catholicism, no cathedral may
be without dead bodies and graves.
In fact, the sacrifice of the mass is
for the dead and mass cannot
proceed if there is not a relic of
the dead associated with the altar.
            This is pagan necromancy, which
            the Bible strictly forbids.

            The skull of the day

The collected remains of the head of John Cassian is at best parts of a skull.
This holy skull is collected in a Roman Catholic Church in Marseilles in France.
This is what a website records about “Holy bones in Saint-Victor Abbey in Marseilles”.
Display of reliquaries containing osseous remains of early Christian saints and martyrs, including the skull of saint John Cassian (top middle), and morsels of saints Agatha, Benignus, Caesarius, Constant II, Facondi, Felicity, Fidelius, Fortunatus, Justin, and many others.
Lots of pieces of holy bones, have been collected in Marseilles.
The part of the skull is kept for adoration and veneration.
            Source: Flickr.
            My comment:
The most interesting part of this story is the bone collection inside the “Church” in Marseilles.
All kinds of pieces of bones are collected and kept in strange looking golden boxes. That this is holy bones, can only be confirmed by the crosses on top of the boxes.
To anyone who still doubts about the Roman Catholic Church being the skull and bones society,  take a look at the skull and bone files on this blog.
Lets also learn from Jesus. He spoke about people who he compare to dead bones, unclean people. Today we know that people who collect and adore bones, are not washed in His blood.
              Matthew 23:27
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean.

The Truth comes to light….even if this is not solely about the Skull & Bones crowd, it sure puts a lot of light on 'where those bones are kept'…No society that goes by any name, will not have a collection
of Pride, to brag and many ideas, and a lot of help to drag the populace into getting more items. This is just way too coincidental ..they make their-selves look good, while another (place to hold and savor their demonic deeds under the guise it's Holy) What better way to drag the blind into more …Sick, sick, sick! You know Jesus told us, all things hidden will come to light. The more I see and hear
the more I see and hear! Those who have eyes to see, and ears to
hear know what I'm saying. Line everything against the Word of God, and test all spirits. They may change their clothes, but they can never change their spots!! Just in our country, each Party will
and does say ''we will change and fix things"..yet they too were in
Power and nothing was changed or fixed…just YOUR CHANGE was put in their pockets and "a NEW FIXED AMOUNT WAS FIXED while the other party screams…foul'…!! Yet many Christians are all
upset each day about how 'things' are going…and getting more and
more blinded either by the lies of the public 'programmers' or by the Pulpit. The Book of Jude is so 'Today' for us all to take heed!

Francis to pray at “city of the dead” in the Vatican

Pope Francis will pray at the tomb of St. Peter, the church’s first pontiff, during a visit to the necropolis under St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican.
The Pope is making a visit to the kingdom of the dead inside the Vatican.
The Pope is making a visit to the city of the dead inside the Vatican.
The Vatican said Francis will go into the vast excavation later Monday, a post-Easter holiday at the Holy See. The new pope’s time in the necropolis will be private, but the Vatican promised to release photos and videos of the visit.
The basilica was built at the spot where early Christians gathered to pray at an unmarked tomb believed to be that of Peter, the man Jesus chose to lead the church.
Earlier Monday, Francis made an appearance from a window of the papal apartment overlooking St. Peter’s Square, greeting and waving to thousands of cheering well-wishers.

              My comment:
This is the first time I have encountered the word “Necropolis”.  It is almost like necrophilia. To fall in love with the dead.
Nekropolis, literally meaning “city of the dead”.
Jesus the Messiah. told the dead to go and bury their own dead. He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
Late Pope John Paul II consult the spirits of the dead in the tombs, this one claimed to be "Peter"s".
Late Pope John Paul II consult the spirits of the dead in the tombs, this one claimed to be “Peter”s”.
To claim that the tomb of a Jew named Peter is inside the Vatican, is an example of religious fraud.  The rest of the “Petrine theology” of the Vatican is also based on lies, and a falsification of World history.
The Roman Catholic Church was formed around 350 A.D, by the emperor of Rome. The foundation stone was laid almost 300 years after the death of Peter.  It is simply baloney to claim this Jewish Apostle to be the first Pope.
The ministry of the married apostle Peter was in Iraq, the ancient kingdom of Parthia. He writes one of his letters with greetings from Babylon, its ancient capital.
                1 Peter 5:13

She who is in Babylon, chosen together with you, sends you her greetings, and so does my son Mark.
There is not a single evidence in scripture, that Peter ever was in Rome. No calling on him to go there.  Neither in the book of Acts, nor in the Prophetic Word, or in his own apostolic letters.  The Apostle Paul was the apostle sent to the pagans in Rome. And there is evidence in the scriptures, that he was there.
              Anyhow:
The Bible says that we shall not pray to the dead, nor pray for the dead.  To visit a crypt and consult the spirit of the dead in nothing but witchcraft in the name of “Christianity”.
               Deuteronomy 18:10-12
Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft,  or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord; because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you.
To visit a fake tomb, to honor the remains of a mortal man, is a grotesque style of religiosity. It is shabby, it is shameful, a way to mock God of the Bible.
That this visit to “necropolis” takes place in the name of “Christ” display to us a servant of the devil. Claiming to know the Messiah, but being completely sold out to Satan.
Have nothing to do with such evil. Do not participate, but rather expose whats going on.
               Ephesians 5:11
Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

Peter was not the first pontiff. Constantine was! I know you mentioned that in your comment at the end…but the photo caption makes that claim unchallenged. For anyone who may have missed it…had to reiterate. Peter was not a pope!
              2. Oldman says:
The early church fathers are unanimous in claiming that Peter died in Rome, by crucifixion, during the persecution of Nero in AD 64. As for crucifixion upside down, that is also testified to, but the evidence is weaker for this particular form of crucifixion. The apocryphal Acts of Peter is the earliest reference to crucifixion of Peter upside down. The earliest reference to the martyrdom of Peter comes from the letter of Clement of Rome (about AD 90). He said, in his Letter to the Corinthians, “Let us take the noble examples of our own generation. Through jealousy and envy the greatest and most just pillars of the Church were persecuted, and came even unto death… Peter, through unjust envy, endured not one or two but many labours, and at last, having delivered his testimony, departed unto the place of glory due to him.” Not much there as to the means or location of his death, but that it was an execution is clearly implied.
Ignatius, in his Letter to the Romans about AD 110 claimed that Peter was bishop of Rome. Irenaeus of Lyon, about AD 180, agrees that Peter served in Rome.
Tertullian, about AD 195 declared “But if you are near Italy, you have Rome, where authority is at hand for us too. What a happy church that is, on which the apostles poured out their whole doctrine with their blood; where Peter had a passion like that of the Lord, where Paul was crowned with the death of John (the Baptist, ie. by being beheaded). Dionysius of Corinth, also about AD 200 “You (Pope Soter) have also, by your very admonition, brought together the planting that was made by Peter and Paul at Rome and at Corinth; for both of them alike planted in our Corinth and taught us; and both alike, teaching similarly in Italy, suffered martyrdom at the same time” When Eusebius reported the crucifixion of Peter and the beheading of Paul in Ecclestiacial History, he was simply passing along a tradition which has been the unanimous opinion of the church for two hundred years.

Let all men be liars, and the Word of God the truth.
The Catholic Church can mobilize as many witnesses as they like. But the Holy Spirit will lead us who believe in Jesus the Messiah, alone, into all the truths.
