Roman Catholicism and the worship of the dead XIV: Catholics dress a corpse for the feast

Catholics dress a corpse for the feast

A Catholic cardinal dress up the corpse of John Neumann for his feast. The “saint” with a mask departed in 1860.

Catholic priests conduct a mass with a corpse inside the altar.
Roman Catholic priest John Neumann has been dead for 151 years. His skeleton is kept for display under the altar of his shrine inside Saint Peter of the Apostle Church, Philadelphia US.
Just before one of the feast of John Neumann, held on January 5th, Cardinal Justin Rigali was given task to overlook the change his vestments. The priest opened the “saints” casket, and exchanged the episcopal garb.
This is what the cardinal said, recorded by a blogger:
“We have a great model of holiness in St. John Neumann and it was thought it would be good if we could put him in new vestments, also vestments that could reflect the period during which he was actually a bishop and in which he lived and died,” the Cardinal said. “He remains here in the Church that he loved and he remains with us in Philadelphia. This is an opportunity to draw more attention to the fact that he remains with us under the altar.”

The “saint” also got a new ring, and a face mask. Let us take a look at some few more pictures:

Cardinal Justin Rigali inspects the new garments that has been put on the skeleton.

The skull was covered by a face mask. Even the bishop’s hat is placed on the skull.

The skeleton also got new white shoes for the feast.
This is what Free republic has recorded:This time, in addition to the new vestments, a new pectoral cross modeled from the cross Bishop Neumann wore in life was placed on the body, as was a new episcopal ring. A new face mask, expertly crafted by forensic sculptor Frank Bender, was placed on the body.
During the feast, Roman Catholic priest conduct a mass on the altar of the shrine. Inside the altar is the dressed skeleton.
The source of the picture of the mass held over the corpse:
There are some more interesting stuff about this departed Roman Catholic priest.
”In 1962: 102 years after his death, the Saint John Neumann shrine was constructed in the lower level of the Saint Peter of the Apostle Church. The body was again exhumed at the second stage of sainthood (Beatification) then revested with a face mask placed over the skull, and the body deposited in a class casket. The remains were then placed under the altar in the newly constructed shrine”.

Faithful Catholics kneel and pray infront of the corpse.
I do not know if personal hobby’s of priest are taken into the accounts during the process of getting the priests cannonized. But this priest was surely not like the neighbor next door.
Behind the alter is St. John Neumann’s personal collection of hundreds of relics from saints. These include teeth, bones, skulls and other miscellaneous and fairly unidentifiable bits and pieces”.

Sites with corpses, bones, skulls and even human teeth are declared “holy” by the Vatican.
My comment:
It is really amazing to the a cardinal looking like an old aunty, dressing up a skeleton with new garments.  I understand the reason for the face mask.
What if the skeleton sneezed while the cardinal controlled the upper button?
Who would take the responsibility?
Since this priest was exhumed 42 years after his death, all kind of unknown bacterias and other rotten stuff might have been “imparted” on the cardinal.
That St. John Neumann managed to go successful through the beautification process, is nevertheless a mystery. Since He obviously was a morbid skull and bone collector. He even collected human teeth.
From which graves has he stolen all this stuff?
What other “miscellaneous items” he has collected, will most likely remain a secret among the insiders in the Vatican. Because the Pope can not revoke the “sainthood” when it has been declared. The Pontiff is infallible in the matters of who is “holy” and who is not.
So what ever, other, and more disturbing acts of perversion that might be disclosed about this man, the Pontiff must stick to his guns.
It is quite disturbing to see the level of demonization that is exposed in the Roman Catholic Church. It is almost not expressible, this massive spiritual tragedy. I wish I knew how to open their eyes, so that the Vatican faithful became able to renounce this religious system as completely deceased.
Jesus spoke about mighty men who were full of dead mans bones. There can never be a better candidate than the priesthood of the Roman Catholic Church. They are beyond repair. On the day of judgment, they will face eternity in the eternal flames of Hell.
 Matthew 23:27
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean.

    Excellent eyeopener.
    All my regards to Ivar.
  2. Clear. that Satanic worshippers are at work here. Who can not see that, even as a catholic is more as blind.. Thanks for cover up!
  3. Has man’s ability to comprehend what is normal and what is not normal fallen so far. I was told as a child that we were an intelligent and civillised race however, my mind boggles when I look at what the Catholic Church is try to pass off as being the one true church. However, I must thank them for the fact they decided to do their mass in Latin when I was a child. I say that because it gave me the opportunity when I was a young impressionable child (because I did not understand what they were saying, or what they were about) that at least I was NOT indoctrinated with their beliefs, and was able to form a relationship with the one true God himself, who sits on the Throne in Heaven. This relationship is the one I have now, and Jesus was my Savor and my redeemer, and no one else.
  4. I mean he IS my Lord and King.

Shameful! He collected relics, nothing PERVERSE about him…. he gave his life to service of “others” – you should all be ashamed… Jesus will recognized ALL those Priests who gave their life in service to others… What have you given for others?

      Dear Curt.
      Shalom.
I hope Roman Catholic priests will not loot your grave, set your skull up in a religious place of worship, and dress up your dried, dead bones with female garments.
May you open your Bible, read and obey Jesus the Messiah. He can save you. Amen.

Mat_22:32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
Mar_12:27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.
Luk_20:38 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.
The Roman Catholic System is not a church….it is the Whore of Babylon and the Woman in the Revelation that rides the beast.

    Quote from the article,

    Matthew 23:27

    End quote.
A good description. The clergy of the Catholic church, priest to pope, is like a modern, Gentile version of the Scribes and Pharisees. To the world they certainly look holy on the outside, fancy garments, big churches, gold and jewels, eloquent speeches. But inside…… and the doctrine……
Mat 23:33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
A few of them do repent and leave that place. Let’s pray for the others also for God to open their eyes, like He did for us that have been set free and they won’t have to hear these words,
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Considering how ancient and accepted the practice of using relics of Saints, how would you avoid the conclusion that the gates of hell must have prevailed against Jesus’ Church for more than a thousand years before the time of the reformation, in contradiction to Jesus’ promise to Peter in Matthew 16:18?
    • ivarfjeld says:
      Dear Joerahi
      Shalom.
Your historical views, is based on the idea that there were no “protestant Church” before the Reformation around 1520 A.D.
The truth is, that there has always been a true Church of Jesus the Messiah existing in parallel to the false Church of Rome. It was a Baptist church, who based their doctrines on the Bible, and rejected the papacy.
This Church has its roots in Judea and Samaria in Israel, the first Jewish believers in Jesus the Messiah. It has always been a church badly bruised and persecuted. It has never written the “official Church history”, nor used forced slave labor to build monumental structures or Catholic “temples” of God.
The longest survival Baptist Church, that was formed before the Roman Catholic Church, were the Churches of Thomas the Apostle in India. These Churches were formed in 50 A.D onwards, and were not forced in under the papacy before the Portuguese onslaught of the Indian ocean around 1.500 A.D.
The Thomas Church movement were split into two by the arriving Catholic bishops. But even today, there are Thomas Christians in India who renounce the Papacy, and continue to live according to the scriptures.

This sounds very interesting, and I would greatly appreciate it if you would share more about this parallel church with support from whatever historical sources are available, and I’m very intrigued to learn what they believed.
However, the Roman Catholic Church has a remarkably well documented history that shows that it was founded by the apostles themselves, and many early Church documents showing their beliefs to be supportive of the doctrines of the modern day RCC (even if not yet fully developed). At what point do you believe that the Church of Peter, Paul, John, James and their successors and disciples apostasized, and how did the others not notice and stop them?
      • ivarfjeld says:
        Dear Joerahi
        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

        My reply:
You just have to Google Thomas Christianity, or Goa Inquisition, and you will see how the Roman Catholic Church acted in India. In the synode of Diamper in 1599 A.D, Bishop Meneces of Goa burned all the Syriaic manuscripts of the Thomas Churches. One of many crimes against Christianity committed by Rome.

        My reply:
To stop the Emperor of Rome would be an up hill task. The merger of state and “Christianity” has always created an anti-Christian system, that started to persecute people who tell and obey the truth.
The very origin of the falsification of Church history, came with the claim that the apostle Peter traveled to Rome. That He became the first Bishop of Rome, and that he died in Rome. There is no Biblical evidence whatsoever, to support this claim. To the radical opposite: Peter was a Jew, sent as an Apostles to the Jews. He wrote one of his letters from Babylon, in ancient Parthia. He was fallible, and a married man. His legacy have been tarnished by the Emperor of Rome and his Popes. The formation and authority of the Roman Catholic Church is built on lies and deception.
During the centuries, the apostasy have become so gross, that it seems to be impossible to correct this religious movement. If people who support this evil do not repent, they will face stern judgment.
  9. right on Ivarfjeld..
    Praise god.
