President Yoweri Museveni has commended the
youth and the Catholic congregation at Mount Zion Prayer Centre,
Bukalango, in Nadangira Parish Wakiso District for being prayerful,
hardworking and having the fear of God.
“I thank all of you for sparing time to worship God. I am happy to note that the evangelists have enabled the children and youth to love religion. It is good for the young people to fear and respect God,” Mr Museveni said, adding that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
The President was speaking during a visit he made
to the Mount Zion Prayer Centre in Wakiso. The congregation
congratulated him upon his 71st birthday. The prayers were led by the
Director of the Centre Monsignor Expedito Magembe. The President was
born on September 15, 1944, according to a statement issued on Tuesday
by the Presidential Press Secretary, Ms Linda Nabusayi.
The president said his duty was to fight for peace in the whole of Uganda and further noted that Bukalango was one of the battle grounds during the people’s protracted liberation war.

Quoting from the Holy Bible, Mathew: Chapter 7
Verse 7, “Ask and it will be given, seek and you will find”, Mr
Museveni noted that what was a battle field (Bukalango) was now a place
of worship. He thanked the religious leaders for teaching the people to
work hard. He thanked the congregation for praying for him, his family
and for Uganda.
He made a cash donation of Shs20m to Mount Zion
Prayer Centre Bukalango and pledged a donation of shs500m towards the
establishment of a TV Station to facilitate the spreading of the Gospel.
The Director of Mount Zion Prayer Centre Monsignor Expedito Magembe thanked God for enabling President Museveni to lead Uganda peacefully. He asked God to continue blessing the President whom he described as a person who has fought for peace and prayed for continued peace in the homes and in Uganda.

Museveni Marks 71st Birthday at Bukalango

President Yoweri Museveni has today marked 71 years of age, State House sources have revealed.
According to Linda Nabusayi, the Presidential Press Secretary, Museveni took time of to spend the morning in God’s presence.
In a social media post, Nabusayi said; “President Museveni today marks 71 years. He spent his morning with the community at Mount Zion Prayer Centre, Bukalango, in Nadangira Parish Wakiso District.”
In a photo tagged in the post, the revolutionary leader is seen seated with his eye glasses on, reading through the scriptures.
At the event attended by thousands of Christian faithfuls, Museveni praised the parents in the country that have endeavored to raise their children in religion.
He also donated Shs 520 million for the renovation of the Bukalango prayer mountain.
The congregation also dedicated the president to the Lord and prayed that he trounces his opponents in the coming 2016 general elections
It is understood that President Museveni later flew out of the country to Sudan to meet President Omar Al-Bashir of Sudan over South Sudan Peace efforts.
It is not known why the head of state chose to keep his birthday celebrations on a low this year.
Last year in 2014, the President marked his 70th birthday at his country home in Rwakitura, Kiruhura district.
At the family get together party, President Museveni hailed his wife Janet Museveni for her efforts in raising their children and building the home.
He also called on young people not to waste their lives and to handle their health with extra care.
