Members of Rabboni Centre Ministries in South Africa eat grass at the behest of Pastor Lesego Daniel.
In a wildly unorthodox demonstration of how humans can be controlled by the Holy Spirit and eat just about anything to feed their bodies, a South African pastor made members of his church eat grass. A video of him commanding a demon out of a woman's stomach might also give you the chills.

According to a report in African Spotlight, Pastor Lesego Daniel of Rabboni Centre Ministries had his followers eating grass after explaining in a sermon that Jesus had many other disciples other than the 12 listed in the traditional Bible who were doing new things which were considered unconventional at the time as well.
"There were many disciples and you don't know others. Let God show you as they were deliberately not revealed in the Bible because God wanted someone to do them, new things. Nathanael was a disciple yet there is no book of Nathanael, what about the miracles, signs and wonders, what about how they them who were not mentioned, taught," said the pastor.

"Remember I said when the kingdom comes you will be able to see, hear and understand. They could not welcome or take Him to heart because they could not see. When the Holy Spirit comes you will be able to see. Don't worry when people criticize you because they cannot see the spirit of truth, they could not welcome or understand. We can cause the people to see, if we live on another – the world will know because they will be able to see the body – we are the body of Christ," he continued.

"Come and eat so that your eyes may see. Simon Peter said: I am going fishing, this is wrong. He went back to the earthly position where Jesus found him. These are the types of miracles that will cause many to repent because this is the message through miracles, signs and wonders. Jesus did not come in a friendly manner because they were doing what Jesus did not tell them to do."

"Paul says: I carry the death of Christ in me because he ate the body. Here we see the demonstration of John 14:12-14 'Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it,'" he added.

A South African preacher made his congregation eat grass to 'be closer to God' before stamping on them.

Under the instruction of Pastor Lesego Daniel of Rabboni Centre Ministries dozens of followers dropped to the floor to eat the grass at his ministry in Garankuwa, north of Pretoria after being told it will 'bring them closer to God.'

His controversial methods have drawn criticism from thousands of people although members of his congregation swear by his methods - he is said to have claimed that humans can eat anything to feed their bodies and survive on whatever they choose to eat.

'Yes, we eat grass and we're proud of it because it demonstrates that, with God's power, we can do anything,' Rosemary Phetha told South Africa's Times Live.
The 21-year-old law student says she had been battling a sore throat for more than a year, but it was healed after she ate the grass.

Doreen Kgatle, 27, of Ga-rankuwa, suffered a stroke two years ago.
'I could not walk but soon after eating the grass, as the pastor had ordered, I started gaining strength and an hour later I could walk again,' said Kgatle.

Photos on the Rabboni Centre Ministries Facebook page show the followers eating the grass as well as Mr Daniel walking across them as they spread out on the floor.

One outraged commentator said 'Is this a scene in a movie...this can't be real. God created animals to chew grass and made human beings to dominate over animals. Any person who reduces human beings to animals is definitely not of God.'
While another person wrote: 'Why is he stepping on people? This is inhumane. Shocking.'

The Times Live reported that during a service of at least 1,000 people in a marquee  Daniel screamed 'sleep' and six people went to sleep.

He ordered other congregants to slap and trample on them, tut the sleepers remain rigid and unresponsive until he ordered them to wake up.

'You can leave them like this for six months. I love this, I don't want to be bored. You can even make police go to sleep when they come to arrest you,' he said.
Although Daniel has not responded to the backlash yesterday he posted on Facebook: 'God is at work and His people are testifying right now st the farm. TO GOD BE THE GLORY.'
