Pastor Kiwewesi, wife Sasha in bitter divorce battle: Pastor Kiwewesi accuses wife of partying ‘with bad girls

Their marriage 15 years ago was the talk of town. Pastor Isaac
Kiweweesi, the senior pastor of Kansanga Miracle Centre, then 38, had
bowed to pressure from believers.
The Born-again fraternity was getting worried that Kiweewesi was
setting a bad example for the youth. Others worried that he would yield
to temptation.
Out of the blue, he unveiled a would-be-bride. Kiweweesi invited a
few friends to what he had called a birthday party in Bunga, only to
shock them by pulling out an engagement ring and slipping it onto
Barbara Sasha Mugabi’s middle finger.
Sasha’s boss at UTL then, Hans Paulsen and Peter Sematimba were some
of the guests at the private engagement party. When news seeped out,
many found fault with the pastor. Many argued that his bride-to-be had a
bad girl reputation. She wasn’t a Born-again Christian then.
Kiweweesi ignored the nay-sayers. It was Sasha for him. The couple
exchanged vows at Rubaga Miracle Centre in front of Pastor Robert
Kayanja. They later hosted their guests at Namboole Stadium.
For Kiweewesi, Sasha fitted the bill. She was then a 23-year-old
Muganda girl working with Uganda Telecom as a product value officer. She
went to Kabojja Senior Secondary School, before going to UK for further
studies.
Today, 15 years later, tables have turned. Sasha Kiweewesi, 38, has
filed for divorce. She reckons Pastor Kiweewesi is the “bad boy” in the
marriage.
Following unresolved marital conflicts, the two are battling a
divorce case and are set to appear in court next week. Sasha filed a
divorce case at Makindye-based High Court family Division seeking to
dissolve her marriage to the man of God
She revealed that in 2018, they developed misunderstandings when her
husband started neglecting his responsibilities as a father.
Sasha further explained that the situation at a time did not permit
her to stay at their marital home in Bunga, prompting her to relocate to
the US.
She narrated that from 2019, family members and friends from both
sides initiated mediations between the couple, but they failed to
resolve their misunderstandings.
Sasha accused Kiwewesi of having extra-marital affairs with other church girls, an act he vehemently denied.
However, in his defense, Kiwewesi also accused Sasha of denying him his conjugal rights.
He further accused her of always partying with “bad girls” like who
he says spoilt her to the extent of her dumping her responsibility as a
married woman.
It is alleged that some church leaders warned the pastor not to marry
Sasha because she is a party animal and not marriage material, but he
turned a deaf ear.
It is also alleged that the reason why she is seeking divorce is that
she wants to legalise her marriage with her new man in the US.
Pastor Kiwewesi allegedly fears that once he accepts divorce, he will
lose some of his prime properties, which include the church, rental
houses around Kampala city, and plots of land in different parts of the
country.

More than a decade ago, Kansanga Miracle Centre’s Senior Pastor
Isaac Kiwewesi’s wedding to Sasha Mugabi was the talk of the town. The
wedding that took place in 2007 is rumored to have cost around Shs300m.
From the venue (Namboole Stadium), the cake to the guests that were
over 10,000, the wedding was crowned a ceremony of the decade.

The divorce war between city Pastor Kiwewesi and his estranged wife Sasha keeps escalating.
In new reports, Kiwewesi’s better half wants 50% of the family
property, thousands of dollars in monthly upkeep, motor vehicles, and a
lot more.
Sasha further accuses Kiwewesi of abandoning their marital bed, denial of conjugal rights, and subjection to mental torture.
However, Kiwewesi, in rebuttal, has accused his wife of abandoning their marital home to settle in the United States.
Kiwewesi contends that Sasha left for the US, representing him as she
was seeking US citizenship for their eldest daughter, Joanna.
He says shortly after going to California in the US, Sasha left the
state without his knowledge and consent and relocated to Texas, where
she has been living to date.
The pastor, therefore, accuses his wife of desertion, saying while
living in Texas, she flew to Uganda on numerous occasions for holiday,
but never stepped in the matrimonial home until she returned to the US.
Court documents indicate that Sasha has never stepped into the
matrimonial home since 2018.
“Whenever the cross-respondent (Sasha) is around, she lives with
friends or various hotels, the latest being Serena Hotel, Kampala in
spite of attempts to persuade her to stay in the matrimonial home,”
Kiwewesi contends.
Kiwewesi claims that while in Texas, Sasha enjoyed wild nights that
were circulated in various video clips on social media, which attracted
attention within the local and international Pentecostal fraternity and
was a source of disrepute, embarrassment, and disgrace.
Believers at Pastor Isaac Kiwewesi’s Kasanga Miracle Centre will have
to double or triple the amount of tithe they have been giving him,
because his estranged wife Sasha Barbra Kiwewesi has set very tough
demands following the divorce case they are battling in court.
A few days ago, Exposed Uganda.comm broke the story of how Kiwewesi
is involved in a bitter divorce suit with Sasha, who wants court to
annul their marriage, after the couple developed marital woes that saw
them separate beds a few years ago.
The latest from our sources at Kasanga Miracle Centre is that in her
affidavit filed before the Makindye Chief Magistrates Court Family
Division, Sasha wants Kiwewesi to give her USD3,000 (about Shs10.8m) as
monthly upkeep for child healthcare, education, and other personal
needs for their kids, who she lives with in America.
Besides the monthly upkeep, Sasha, who was married to Kiwewesi for 15
years, also demands for 50% of their marital wealth and properties,
reasoning that they acquired the same together, during the time they
were married.
On top of sharing the properties and other wealth owned under the
Kiwewesi estate, Sasha also seven motor vehicles, seven plots of land,
shares in several companies, savings on bank accounts and their
matrimonial home in Kansanga.
After Kiwewesi giving Sasha all that she wants before she signs the
divorce papers, she also wants court to grant her an order of joint
custody of their children who are of tender age, who include; Joana
Kyobe, 12, Isaac Kyobe, 11, and Jaydyn Kyobe, 7.
It should be noted that Kiwewesi and Sasha were officially wed at
Rubaga Miracle Center Cathedral on June 30, 2007 under the provisions of
the Marriage Act, at a ceremony that was witnessed by William
Kalyesubula, Winnie Mirembe Agaba and Pastor David Makoko.
However, a few years down the road they developed irreconcilable
differences especially after Kiwewesi’s name surfaced in some sodomy
scandals some time back.
Following the scandalous accusations, Sasha estranged herself from
their marital home in Kansanga and decided to settle in Texas, USA, with
their children.
However, in his affidavit, Kiwewesi contends that while in Texas,
Sasha abandoned her marital duties and resorted to wayward merrymaking,
acts that are not expected of a married woman, let alone a pastor’s
wife.
He claims that Sasha’s wild partying stints were circulated in
various video clips on social media, which attracted attention within of
the local and international Pentecostal fraternity, thereby causing
disrepute, embarrassment and disgrace to him.
But Sasha argues that such a lifestyle was triggered in her by
Kiwewesi, who abandoned their matrimonial bed on several occasions
without any excuse or reason, hence denying her the rightly deserved
conjugal rights.
Sasha, who seems to have been severely started by Kiwewesi, also
states that he often indulged in other activities and businesses,
thereby failing to provide her and the children love, care and
affection, which she says resulted into psychological torture and
immense suffering.
She states that Kiwewesi’s unbecoming behaviour prompted her and the
children to relocate temporarily to the USA for their own safety,
wellbeing, happiness and good health.
However, Kiwewesi trashes all her allegations, Sasha left for the
USA to represent since she was seeking US citizenship for their eldest
daughter, Joanna.
He contends that shortly after traveling to California, Sasha flew
out to Texas without informing him and it is where she has been living
since then.
He thus accuses her of desertion and estrangement, arguing that
while living in Texas, she flew to Uganda on numerous occasions for
holidays, although she never at any material time visited their
matrimonial, having last been there in 2018.
