The Harlem Shake Bewitches the Modern "Church": The Concept of Revival in the Modern Church

The Harlem Shake Bewitches the Modern "Church"

There is a fad buzzing around in the modern “churches” that has become the new trend to appeal and draw the younger generation. Just when you thought the “Holy Spirit” (Kundalini) meetings could not get any more crazier there is a new sensation that is appealing to the "church leaders" who want to be even more savvier in the evolution of their seeker friendly doctrines by borrowing from mainstream pop culture and paganism.
The modern “churches” are pandering after entertainment and silliness instead of the genuine Gospel by embracing and indulging in pagan experiences. These apostate leaders have downgraded the Gospel for bewitchment, and the youth are embracing this darkness by mimicking the fleshly behaviors of this world. Demons are manifesting in the body of Christ because of the promotion of degenerative pop culture as a lure to bring people to "Jesus." The gospel of lewd behavior is not the same as seeking after Jesus Christ and repenting for your sins, but personifies hedonism.
The latest fad of the modern "church" is a phenomenon called the Harlem Shake that has gone viral all over the internet.
The Harlem Shake is a device of Satan that is brainwashing the masses. It has become a viral sensation on YouTube, and everyone on Facebook is talking about it. Many people including "church" youth groups are making their own versions of this form of music video expression. It starts off by one individual with a helmet or mask on, who dances and gyrates to the heavy bass music of Baauer in the first beginning seconds of the song. Others who are around that person look like they are seemingly unaware of what the dancing individual is doing. Once the bass drops in the song, the music video clip flashes to the entire crowd dancing, thrusting, gyrating and convulsing wildly to the beat of the music in a variety of different crazy outfits, masks and costumes. Most videos show everyone joining in some type of lewd behavior by dry humping other people, or having sex with the air by using their bodies as an expression of carnal behavior.

Many deceived “leaders” in the modern "church" believe that by participating in the latest trend equates to being a relevant “Christian” who is up to date with modern culture. Although some of the clips may seem like people are just having some silly harmless fun, the origins of this type of behavior are not so innocent as it may seem.
This type of "dance" has its origins in voodoo ritual and Egyptian pagan worship. The ritual starts with a magician (witch doctor) who wears a mask, or a helmet and moves wildly to conjure up demons to manifest in the participating crowd.
Similarly, the youth "leaders" in the modern “churches” are utilizing these repulsive and silly actions to attract and draw youth into their apostate ministries. Instead of leading kids to the cross by being sensitive to the drawing of the Holy Spirit, they promote the Harlem Shake that pushes them into the realm of the holy and profane. These “leaders” have absolutely no Biblical discernment when it comes to ethics and behaviors. They are brainwashed into believing if they “baptize” the actions they are “redeemed.” Their shallow understanding of God's Word exposes their ignorance, and that these behaviors are in fact blasphemy and an abomination to the Lord. They need to repent for tainting God’s children into embracing lewd conduct in the Church, and in the public places. These “leaders” are feeding off of and promoting the putting of garbage into children's minds, and the result is a mockery of God and His holiness. The train wreck that is called the Harlem Shake does not bring glory, or reverence to God in any way.

And every man that striveth for the mastery is TEMPERATE in all things. - 1 Corinthians 9:25

Having victory in Jesus Christ is about overcoming the licentious lifestyle of sin. The Gospel is not about being cool by enacting the silly behaviors of the world, but by being an ambassador for Jesus Christ.

Now then we are AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. – 2 Corinthians 5:20

For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I SEEK TO PLEASE MEN? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. – Galatians 1:10

The mainstream media is manipulating the masses into accepting these types of behaviors as “normal.” On the surface these actions are touted as a fun activity to do with your friends, but the fact is that it is a scheme of Satan to open people’s minds to demonic spiritual realm. Music affects individuals, especially adolescents, which motivates their thoughts and behaviors. It is something that many may see as harmless, but hypnotic beats affects to the limbic system of the brain overwhelming its other parts that leads to a trance like state. It can be compared with falling in love where the one emotion can take complete control over an individual.

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to TEMPERANCE patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. – 2 Peter 1:4-7

The Affect on Children.

Satan is using these devices to get the Church to promote certain types of behaviors in the goal of accepting and conforming the harlot system of the world. Many of the modern “churches” are using hypnotic beats in their worship music to get the masses riled up into an emotional tizzy. Once this emotional state has manifested, they can be manipulated to do many things. This type of music is used in preparation to change perception by affecting brain chemistry. The resulting product is the absence of self-control and the desire to please man instead of God. The modern “Christian” has no self-control, self-restraint, or self-discipline who is controlled by man instead of the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Harlem Shake portrays the loss of inhibition that feeds off the flesh.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against SPIRITUAL WICKEDNESS in high places. – Ephesians 6:12

Satan is behind the scenes preparing and promoting for the one-world satanic system of the Antichrist. The deception he uses is the illusion of emotions to entice and lure many into buying and believing into corruption and godlessness. His desire is to distract those from desiring to honor, serve and worship the Lord in spirit and truth. The modern “church” has spiraled out of control by openly displaying debauchery as a means of the “Gospel.”

Information on the Origins of the Harlem Shake

For the time will come when they WILL NOT ENDURE SOUND DOCTRINE; but after their own LUSTS shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. – 2 Timothy 4:3-4

The modern "church" has taken on the spirit of the Antichrist and no longer desires to be fed from the Word of God, but instead sides with Satan in mocking the true Church. The evidence should reveal that Biblical discernment has been thrown out for a demonically inspired hypnotic dancing circus. Simple research of the origins of the song and dance should be enough in discarding this filth that has been allowed to manifest.
This is not the working of the Holy Spirit, but proof positive that the Harlem Shake personifies the influences from drugs, drinking, and fornication. Unfortunately, many will still be gyrating to these types carnal hypnotic beats when Jesus Christ comes for His bride, and many will wonder why He left them behind. Many leaders need to repent for promoting this behavior.
The modern “church” is not a beacon of light, but has become a mirror of the world.

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. – Luke 21:28

We must expose this darkness for what it is and contend for the faith so that many will wake up.

Minister or Merchant

The Holy Spirit fell upon on those who had gathered in the upper room, and the result was that about three-thousand were saved when Peter preached. The witness of God manifested in the sign gifts as the foundation of the Gospel and the ekklesia was being laid. Jesus Christ would fulfill the new covenant and the power of the Holy Spirit would move from Jerusalem to the world. The ekklesia would take the Good News out to the Gentile nations, which has continued to this day. The modern “church” has been promising another great “revival” with claims that there are, and will be manifestations of great signs and wonders. Upon closer inspection, the lack of genuine fruit that has come from the Pentecostal/Charismatic Revivals are multi-billion dollar industries, which sell mammon to the masses. The movements such as Latter Rain and Joel’s Army etc… have revealed a serious decline in the fundamental doctrine of Jesus Christ for experiential religious hype. This has brought shame to the true and genuine Gospel.
There are very few ministers of the Gospel who freely preach without a price. The “ministers” in the modern “church” with their oxymoronic hierarchical titles are merchants who are salaried to serve. The way of sacrifice and servant leadership has been replaced with religious salesmen who are hired to sell their wares to the spiritually shallow masses who sit mutely while the pulpit “peacocks” program their minions to empty their wallets into their coffers. The specially anointed “Apostles” and “Prophets” spew their additional “prophecies” and “revelations” to the glossy-eyed masses who desire to have their ears tickled. They look to man as their mediator between them and God. It is only through their special impartation that one can join into the elite membership club that has exclusive access to the special knowledge that God has revealed just to them.

The Counterfeit

Most Christians have a sincere desire to see a genuine move of God, but they sit and wait passively in their pews, put money in the offering plate and glean from the “church” CEO without ever leaving the building. The modern “church” does not live by faith, but by sight. They require a sign ("revival") from God in order to have faith to do anything. Satan is happy to oblige them with counterfeit signs and wonders, which they heretically attribute to the work of the Holy Spirit. The bad fruit that has come from the Toronto Blessing and Pensacola Outpouring are proof of it.
Those who are in the western world are blinded to what the true and genuine movement of the Holy Spirit looks like. The Holy Spirit will always glorify Jesus Christ over mere man and will bring judgement to the “church” apostasy that conforms to the system of the world. The Lord is going to shake the foundations of the traditions of man and the false prophets who sit upon them. His judgement is coming to His house first and will decimate the reprobates who have chosen to believe in a lie when confronted with truth. The modern “church” wants “revival,” but its foundations are built upon the schemes, greed and carnality of man.
The Word of God speaks of a different manifestation of the Holy Spirit that can be discovered by searching and reading Scripture, just as the Berean’s did. The rotten fruit of the modern “church revival" is fueled by the doctrine of demons and has left many people disillusioned and oppressed.

“If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, ‘Let us go after other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’ you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the LORD your God is testing you, to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. – Deuteronomy 13:1-3

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. – Matthew 24:9-14

The words Jesus spoke in the Olivet Discourse is compacted with much truth. He said that people would make attempts to deceive you who would profess to be followers of Christ and would minister in His name. This is happening, that is why it is of utmost importance to weigh and test what man says with the Word of God. If it does not line up with the God's standard, it must be ignored and discarded.
Jesus said that the gospel of the kingdom would be preached as a witness; He does not say that there would be a great outpouring and millions will be saved. Jesus made no guarantees that because the Gospel would be preached, all would believe and act upon it. The fact is that those who preach truth are the ones who are the most persecuted and hated because it is so offensive to many.
The modern “church” preaches of great “revival” in the end times, while Jesus Christ spoke of something quite the opposite. Jesus said that there would be an increase in those who would deny Him and they would revel in their carnal ways. There has been an obvious increase in apostasy from those who claim to follow Jesus that affirms the great falling away that is written in Scripture.
The Church of Lacedonia in Revelation is indifferent to truth and will not commit to the true faith, but boasts in their relative truths and ideologies of man.

“‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. – Revelation 3:15-17

Jesus Christ did not talk of great “revival,” but of repentance. In fact, it was repent, or face the judgement and wrath of God. The modern “church” is not in “revival,” but in sickness. The modern “church” is not about outreach, but about in-reach for the monetary. They have not kept the Word of God, but promote heresy instead. The manifestations of “revival” that are occurring such as people flailing, cackling, shaking, laughing and twitching uncontrollably is nowhere to be found in Scripture. By comparing these manifestations with pagan ideology, it reveals that these things are an imprint of Satan, not the Holy Spirit.
The great world-wide “revival” that is taught in the modern “church” is simply the great falling away. Many sincerely want revival, but Scripture does not say that the whole world is going to accept Jesus Christ. To envision a Utopian world that will only get better and better is new-age ideology. The world is on its way to destruction because of rampant sin. The mission of the Church should be to preach that it is only through the blood of Jesus Christ that will save us from God's wrath.

Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we ask you, brothers, not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction – 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3

Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared – 1 Timothy 4:1-2

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. – 2 Timothy 3:1-5
How do you reconcile the above few verses, among many with the “revival” that is taught in the modern “churches” today? The remarkable things that will happen will be when the followers of Jesus Christ stand on His foundation in the midst of difficulty and persecution as the Church is made spotless.

Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? - 2 Peter 3:3-4

I believe the word “revival” should be thrown out because it leads too many down rabbit trails. Once discarded, the main focus should be the foundational work of Jesus Christ who makes His habitation in those that choose Him.
The day of Pentecost was not a “revival,” but God pouring His Spirit on people for a specific purpose (laying the foundation of the Gospel and the Church). The modern “church” is still trying to embrace these signs and wonders (tongues, divine healing and miracles) and ignoring that these sign gifts have been fulfilled (to confirm the Word).

The focus of the ekklesia is about surrendering in humility to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. It is about reading His Word and surrendering to it. To put gifting, anointing, impartation, healing and signs and wonders as the primary focus appeals to the carnality of man and are used as a tools to oppress the masses. The Gospel is not about feel-goods, but is about conviction. It is not about mystical experiences, but obedience. The modern “prophets” brag about their supernatural experiences of what they felt and saw, while the true followers of Jesus Christ speak of who Jesus is, and the revelation that is in His Word.
The unity of being in one accord with Jesus Christ is abiding in Him, and He in us as living stones. The vision of the ekklesia should not change; repentance and the transformation of our heart to His heart should be paramount. The modern “church” is trying to make something happen by manufacturing an “anointing” that does not come from God. The obvious clue is that the spirit of repentance is missing for feel-goods and no one is turning from their lifestyle of sin. Genuine fruit is the priority of seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.
When we have the desire for the genuine, Jesus will protect us from the counterfeit. Unfortunately, many desire the counterfeit even after the truth has been revealed to them. A snake can look like a fish, a scorpion can look like an egg, and a stone can look like a loaf of bread. This is the reason why many have fallen away by seeking after and entertaining seducing spirits.

The AntiChrist Spirit

The “revival” that is in the modern “church” is simply allowing the flattery of the Antichrist spirit to manifest. In spite of persecution and death, the Gospel will still prevail. The falling away is a good thing in that it cleanses and creates a dividing line between the genuine and counterfeit. It is the removal from the ekklesia those who profess God with their lips, but never knew Him. The ekklesia that desires to be without spot or blemish will remove impostors because of their devotion, watchfulness and fear of the Lord.

That he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. – Ephesians 5:26-27

God’s judgement is coming to the modern “church” in severity. Just as Aninias and Saphira died on the spot when Peter revealed their lies, the same judgement is coming to confront the powers of darkness.

Counterfeit Revival

Do you believe that revival is the manifestation of signs and wonders in the modern "church?"
