Apostle Alex Mitala has called upon his predecessor, Bishop Joshua Lwere to join forces and fight homosexuality and pornography in Uganda

The former head of the Born Again fraternity in Uganda said this one was one of the “greatest battles” he had fought during his reign.

Mitala of Back to the Bible Truth Ministry urged Bishop Lwere “to be strong and courageous and to know that there is great responsibility upon him as a leader and above all continue to live an exemplary Christian life.”

“Some Ugandans are praising homosexuality and some believe it is their right but you should stand not to allow this moral decay in this country,” said Mitala during the consecration ceremony of the leaders of the Born Again fraternity at Kololo ceremonial grounds in Kampala on Saturday.

The function was presided over by the Karamoja Affairs Minister, Hon. Janet Kataaha Museveni, who also doubles as the First Lady.

Mitala said though majority Ugandans are Christians, “there is still a lot of witchcraft going on in the country which is also experienced in sports where people still hold a mentality that when they lose a match they think they have been be-witched.”

“There is a lot of corruption both within the church and outside which I have always fought but you should take on from where I have stopped,” added Mitala.

He encouraged the other elected leaders to be hardworking, accountable and stand in support with the overseer to live an exemplary Christian life.

Lwere said he is to ensure unity among the members and followers of Christ, foster training among all pastors and leaders so as to be ordained.

He also pledged to changing the corporate image of the born again faith and to ensure that people within the faith are assisted to come out of poverty.
