A medical specialist tending to former Operation Wembley chief Elly Kayanja has said “huge quantities of toxic substances” were found in the brigadier’s body.
The specialist, who requested anonymity, did not specify what kind of “toxins” doctors found in the brigadier.
“We found substantial quantities of poisonous substances in Brigadier Kayanja’s blood,” the specialist told this newspaper in an interview at CASE Medical Centre in Kampala yesterday.
“The poisonous substances gradually rendered his vital internal organs dysfunctional,” the specialist added.
Several medical specialists, including one nephrologist, two physicians, two intensivists and a hematologist are now working on the brigadier.
The CASE Medical Centre public relations officer, Mr Bobil Williams, yesterday declined to comment on the matter.
Brig. Kayanja was admitted at the medical facility three weeks ago after collapsing with doctors established that Brig. Kayanja suffered multiple organ failure and breathing impairment later.
