A man stunned court Wednesday when he confessed eating human flesh. Mr Ronald Kikomeko, 30, however, said much as he eats human flesh, he does not kill people to get the meat.

Kikomeko was in January arrested with two others, Pascal Sekiimpi and Charles Lubowa, at Nakisanja village Kayunga District, about 50 kilometres from Kampala. They were found with a human skull.

While testifying before Mr MackKay Opolot, a grade II magistrate at Mukono court, Kikomeko explained that he was driven by 'evil spirits' into the habit.

The magistrate, however, was forced to adjourn the hearing of the case to January 2013 after Kikomeko claimed that he was not feeling well in the middle of his testimony.

In Uganda, it is illegal to exhume bodies without authorisation and the offender is charged with disturbing the peace of the dead.
