From Marburg to Ebola, Destructing us from the exposed rot of Museveni’s US client state regime due to corruption : Ebola outbreak in Uganda is a mere political game speared headed by the US new world system to destruct us from the exposed Corruption in Museveni’s regime and the participation of Uganda in the support of M23 rebels

My analysis

Museveni’s regime has been greatly tarnished world wide because the corruption and the accusations of supporting M23 rebels. Now they are trying to divert the world to Ebola. Even during the walk to work protests in 2011, the world was shocked by the immense human rights violations by Museveni’s government during these protests.  During this time there was an Ebola outbreak and its purpose was to divert the world away from the walk to work protests. This how the US new  world order system protects its client states from exposition. Remember that Ebola and Marburg are just biological weapons being tested.

Okware said the deceased blood samples were taken to Uganda Virus Research Institute and tested. He said that other members of the family have been admitted at Bombo Military Hospital.

He said that 40 other people who were in close contact with the deceased are being closely monitored by the surveillance team from WHO, and Ministry of Health among others.

Five people suspected to have Ebola haemorrhagic fever have been admitted to different health facilities after it was established that they had been in close contact with the fever’s fatalities, whose blood samples confirmed that they had died of Ebola, the Sudan strain.

Two of the suspects, an elderly woman and his son both related to the deceased, were today admitted to the Mulago National Referral Hospital Isolation facility where they are being closely monitored as they wait for results from their blood samples, expected on Friday. Another person is admitted at Bombo Military Hospital in Luweero, while the other three are confined to their homes as an isolation center is being set up at Nyimbwa Health Centre IV.

Laboratory investigations done at the Uganda Virus Research Institute in Entebbe confirm that two people, all from one family in Sambu parish in Nyimbwa sub-county, Luweero district, were among the first three fatalities of the Sudan strain.

The Minister for Health Dr. Christine Ondoa confirmed the outbreak on Thursday morning, saying that three people have died since the onset of the outbreak.

“The first case, a boda boda rider, died on October 25th after presenting with signs of high fever and bleeding from some body parts. However, no samples were taken from this case as it was not reported to the health facility. The second death occurred on November 10th 2012 at Nyimbwa Health Center IV.

This was 25-year-old woman who had had nursed the boda boda rider. She too, presented with signs and symptoms of Ebola. The third case, also from the same family occurred on October 12 at Nyimbwa Health Center,” the Minister in a press conference.

This is the second time in a span of three months that the country is experiencing an Ebola outbreak, a highly infectious haemorrhagic fever.

However, the Ebola strain in Luweero is not in any way related the one that broke out in Kibaale district in August this year, according the commissioner for National disease control and Prevention Dr. Denis Lwamafa.

Uganda was declared Ebola free on October 4th after observing a 42 day post Ebola surveillance period.

“This is a fresh outbreak. There is no epidemiological link between the outbreaks in Kibaale, western Uganda and the one in Luweero,” Doctor Lwamafa said while responding to concerns on the possibility that the country could have been declared Ebola-free early.

Dr Lwamafa also said that 15 people in Nyimbwa sub-county, Luweero, who are suspected to have come in contact with the fatalities are now under surveillance.

Travel Ban
The World Health Organisation, WHO, however says that there is no travel ban on Uganda yet, with an exception of the affected areas. As a result, the minister told journalists, Uganda’s borders remain open both for people coming in and leaving the country.

She however said that the government cannot regulate or stop other countries that may ban Ugandans from entering their countries.

In Summary
A month after country was declared free of the deadly virus, it returns to claim more lives in Bombo, about 30 kilometres outside the capital.
LUWEERO/Kampala
Two people have died following an Ebola outbreak in Luweero, the district medical officer confirmed yesterday.

Tests carried out on the victims confirmed that they had succumbed after contracting the Ebola Sudan strain virus at Sambwe Parish in Nyimbwa Sub-county.

Test results for two samples of whole blood sent to the Central Public Health Laboratory (CPHL) in Kampala and the Uganda Virus Research Institute Laboratory confirmed an outbreak of the deadly virus, the second epidemic in the country this year.

The first one claimed 11 lives. “I got confirmation from the Ministry of Health that the test results of the blood samples sent to the CPHL in Kampala are for the Ebola Sudan strain. The results are for Rehema Najjemba, who died on November 12, and Gladys Namakula, who was admitted to Nyimbwa Health Centre IV and died on November 10. The health team did not take any sample from the third person from the same family who died on November 7. We are now tracing all the persons who could have come into contact with the deceased in these areas,” Dr Joseph Okware, the Luweero District Health Officer, told the Daily Monitor on Wednesday.

However, the Health ministry Permanent Secretary, Dr Asuman Lukwago, said in a telephone interview in Kampala, that they were treating the reported outbreak as an extension of the haemorrhagic fevers that could have been caused by either Ebola from Kibaale or Marburg from Kabale, Ibanda and Kabalore districts that have been under surveillance following recent outbreaks. He also urged the public to remain vigilant and report to the health authorities any suspicious diseases.

How it all began

According to the Luweero District Health Department the victims were admitted to Nyimbwa Health Centre IV on November 7. The two both complained of headaches, fever, vomiting and general body weakness.

A relative of the two, identified only as Kabugo, died in October, after exhibiting similar signs and symptoms. The two had attended to him before he died. Twenty-five-year-old Rehema Najjemba started bleeding from the nose on November 7, and this continued until she died on November 10.

The district health team, with support from Bombo General Military Hospital, supervised the burial at Kakute LCI for the two victims, according to Dr Okware.

Two patients, who had contact with the dead women, are admitted to Bombo General Military Hospital. However, information from the hospital indicated that their conditions had by yesterday deteriorated.

One of the patients had reportedly insisted on going to the burial of one of the victims, Luweero health officials said. Health teams in Luweero were still grappling with how to identify the people who may have come into contact with the victims and considering establishing an isolation centre within the district.

The family members of the dead women in Kakute village have been identified as the first contacts since the burial was professionally conducted.

Meanwhile, health response teams from Ministry of Health, the WHO, AFENET, Medicines Sans Frontiers French chapter and the Uganda Red Cross are already in Luweero District for surveillance and logistical support to help counter the spread of the Ebola Sudan outbreak.

The last Ebola outbreak in Luweero was in May last year, and claimed the life of a 12-year-old girl from Ngalonkalu village in Zirobwe Sub-county.

At least three people are confirmed to have died from Ebola haemorrhagic fever since last month, the health ministry has said.

All the three victims were members of the same family in Kakute sub-county, Sambu Parish, Nyimbwa sub-county.

“A total of three people have since died since the onset of the outbreak in Luweero district,” health minister, Dr Christine Odoa said Thursday while addressing journalists at the media centre.

The first case, a boda boda rider died on October 25 after presenting signs of high fever and bleeding from some body parts, although no samples were taken for testing, nor was the case reported to the health centre.

The second case, a 25 year old woman died on Saturday after nursing the boda boda cyclist while the third, also a member of the same family, died on Monday at Nyimbwa Health Centre IV.

At least five people suspected to have come into contact with those infected or the deceased are under isolation. Two of these admitted at Mulago Hospital, one at Bombo Hospital and three in Luweero.

The acting director general of health services, Dr Dennis Lwamafa said health experts were also tracing at least fifteen suspected cases in different parts of the country.

The recent Ebola outbreak comes barely two months after the country was declared Ebola-free.

The health ministry has dispatched a team of experts to assess the situation in Luweero, and plans are underway to create isolation centres at Nyimbywa Health Centre IV and Bombo Hospital.

Dr Miriam Nanyunja, the WHO disease prevention and control advisor said a team of health experts had arrived to boost efforts to contain the epidemic.
