Shocking: Gov’t Keeps Top Museveni Supporter Bisaka’s COVID-19 Death Secret Until After Presidential Polls…
This website has exclusively learnt that self-proclaimed god Owobusobozi Ruhanga Bisaka, 91, who was a renowned cult leader in parts of western Uganda, died last week but his death was kept a secret by government officials, because spreading the news about his demise would have jeopardised the recently concluded presidential elections.
Our sources reveal that Bisaka, who was the founder and head of a Ugandan cult known as Faith of Unity, based in Kagadi district, passed away on January 13th, 2021, a few hours to the January 14th election after he succumbed to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
But according to political pundits we talked to, announcing Bisaka’s death and consequent preparation for his burial would not only have jeopardised the elections but also put lives of thousands of his followers at risk of contracting COVID-19, since many of them would have wanted to pay their last respects to him.
Sources have revealed that in a bid to prevent the above, his body was on Monday this week quietly transported to Mbarara Hospital for postmortem from where it will be handed over to relatives for a scientific burial ceremony.
It should be noted that last year, after the death of his son, many of Bisaka’s followers wondered how a ‘god’ would fail to resurrect his own son from the dead and majority of them crossed to the Anglican Church.
Who Is Bisaka?
Bisaka was born on June 11th , 1930 at Kitoma Kiboizi, Bujuni parish. He desired so much to be a priest but never got a chance to fulfil his dream.
He later qualified as a teacher and started serving the Catholic Church as a choirmaster. Bisaka composed many catholic Lunyoro hymns which are still sung by Catholics to date.
In 1948, he failed being admitted to the Minor Seminary and that was when he changed his attitude towards church leaders.
He thereafter became a critic of the Catholic Church and finally announced his revelation in 1975.
It was that revelation that got him out of church completely and he began his own cult, declaring himself a god. His followers pray every 2nd, 12th and 22nd of each month.
Sources reveal that Bisaka was one of the staunch supporters of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).
During his lifetime, Bisaka, who contributed Shs200m to the Ministry of Health National COVID-19 Task Force, was known to always urge his over 2 million followers to support the NRM cause.
But his death with be a huge blow to the NRM party since he had made immense financial contributions to the Party’s campaigns over the years and was revered for mobilising support for President Museveni.
We shall keep you posted about his burial arrangements as and when details come in.
