CONFERENCE VOLUNTEER DEFENDS BENNY HINN’S SALE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT ANOINTING FOR 50$ PER PERSON

MY REACTION

Dear Mr. Brian Mukisa , I have read you defence of the Benny Hinn’s June 2009 conference at Rubaga Miracle Centre Cathedral with amazement . I guess you are a born again person. You argue that paying registration fee for any conference is normal. You argue that it was okay to pay because this conference was for ministers and not lay persons.

Registration fee is normal for any conference

This is an error in reasoning. Remember that what ever Christians do must be guided by the word of God. The word of God says freely you have received freely give. Do you expect the poor pastors from Masaka , Gulu, Luwero to afford 50$ . Let us be honest.

By the way how much research have you carried out on Benny hinn . Do you know that he once visited graves to get the anointing.

How can you defend such a person. The truth is, take it or leave it Benny hinn and Kayanja are not thieves but robbers. They are servants of the devil to say the least .

I pray that God opens your eyes . I also once believed in Benny Hinn like you until God opened my eyes. Amen

Brian Mukisa

I was privileged to volunteer on the organising committee for the just concluded East and Central Fire Conference hosted by a reknown evangelist, teacher and author- Pastor Benny Hinn. I write in response to some media reports directed towards the conference pre- registration fee. I notice the confusion arises from failure to understand the aim and purpose of the event. I need to state that a fire conference is organised for gospel ministers (pastors) and is different from a gospel crusade as many people have mistaken it. Pastor Benny Hinn last held a miracle crusade in Uganda in 2007 where he reached out to everyone. This did not require pre-registration or fees.

So, these events are not the same and should be looked at differently.
While it is true that attending the fire conference at the Miracle Centre Cathedral on June 5-6 required pre- registration of $ 50, the fees came with a prior delegate package, made up of conference materials.

Delegates also received special Benny Hinn Ministry unique offers and conference facilities. The conference brought together delegates from neighbouring countries of Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi, Sudan, Malawi, India and so many more. Logistics were required in advertising, hotel bookings, air and land transport, meals, sound and lighting enhancements for both local and foreign delegates. This is characteristic of any international meeting and the situation was not different for the fire conference.

While the debate rages, there is a puzzle about what the real motives of the commentators are, dominated by imaginations and fabrication about the attendance numbers and figures. Sweeping statements like “there are thousands of people who attended and this implies lots of money” are very misleading and vindictive, yet far from the reality.

What is fascinating is the hypocrisy and double standards by the comments. For instance, when a religious or spiritual group from Uganda arranges a ‘religious trip’ or a pilgrimage to whichever destination, it is never free. Isn’t this for spiritual empowerment and for advancement of a particular faith? How is this different from a group of Christians from Malawi or Burundi travelling for a fire conference in Kampala? Come on people!

The conference was a major step for Uganda not only spiritually but also uplifting the profile of the country globally. International media giants, Trinity Broadcasting Network and GOD TV, were present and will run special programming of the event to a global audience. The benefits will later accrue to Uganda. The presence of foreign delegates definitely had a positive effect on the overall economy.

The recent attacks on the host, Pastor Robet Kayanja, are rather harsh, misguided and unfortunate, resulting from misinformation on the purpose and target people for the conference. Pastor Hinn will host a similar event in Ukraine in July and the delegates will have to pay. So Uganda is no exception. For the delegates who attended the fire conference, the conference was priceless, life-changing and in-depth teaching from the Word of God.

We should thank Pastor Kayanja, an internationally respected ambassador of the gospel and other stakeholders for organising a successful event and uplifting Uganda’s profile than pulling him down. For the Bible says in Philippians 1:6, “He that begun a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
