Another modern representation of the Christ is that of a substitutionary Saviour, -- not in the sense of atonement merely, but in the way of obedience. This Christ is held up as embodying in Himself the sum and substance of the sinner's salvation, needing only to be believed in, that is, accepted by the mind as the atoning Sacrifice, and trusted in as securing for the sinner all the benefits involved in His death, without respect to any inwrought change in the sinner himself. This Christ is held up as a justification and protection in sin, not as a deliverer from sin. Men and women are assured that no harm can overtake them if they believe in this Christ, whatever may be the state of their hearts, or however they may, in their actions, outrage the laws of righteousness and truth. In other words, men are taught that Christ obeyed the law for them, not only as necessary to the efficacy of His atonement for their justification, but that He has placed His obedience in the stead of, or as a substitution for, the sinner's own obedience or sanctification, which in effect is like saying, Though you may be untrue, Christ is your truth; though you may be unclean, Christ is your chastity; though you may be dishonest, Christ is your honesty; though you may be insincere, Christ is your sincerity. http://standingthegap.org/Popular%20Christianity.htm

Harsh? What's worse, to standby while the likes of Charles Stanley, Chuck Swindoll, & John Macarthur tell people they can live in open sin, deny God and even commit suicide and still be assured of heaven because they had a past moment of faith? You tell me. The hearts of people have become rock hard sitting under this type preaching mainly because it has gone unopposed for so long that 'millions' believe it to be the truth! Like any form of well conceived propaganda, after long exposure to the outright lies and half truths, the human mind becomes numb to fact. Do you really think Satan and his minions are playing games here? The battle for human souls is intense, brutal with no holds bared! Why do you suppose Paul warned us so many times to be prepared? (Eph6:12-18, 2Cor10:1-6) He recognized the profoundness of this warfare and NEVER ceased to WARN the Righteous & the Wicked that sin would led them into spiritual ruin, (Acts20:26-33, Gal6:7-10, Rom8:13, Eph5:5, 1Thess4:7-8) and send their souls into hell fire. http://standingthegap.org/dead_men.htm

Watch Out! You Could Lose Your Salvation

By Kato Mivule

http://www.yesumulungi.com/Commentary/Comment86.htm

We truly live in the last days and there is great deception in almost all corners on the face of this earth. To state it candidly, we live in days of deception and lies. Our society and generation seems to move and dwell in lies and deception. Lies and deception is what our adulterous society uses to make things going.

From Pastor to Politician to Prophet to President, all tell lies and run organizations by lies and deception. Organized and Institutionalized lies and deception is the order of the day and way of controlling the masses. The Church has not been immune to deception. As a matter of fact Jesus Christ strongly warned us that there would be deception so great in the Last days just before He returned that if possible, the elect would be deceived.

So, my simple advice in such times we live is that question whatever you see and hear. Ask the why questions… Ask yourself why the News Media is reporting a certain story… Why are they showing and replaying certain images…etc? Don’t simply follow the crowd. Do your own research, find out why…

To the saints, read the Bible on your own and test whatever that preacher and PhD Pastor teach on the pulpit… You will be amazed and flabbergasted at how deception is being sold and lies are being preached on the pulpit instead of truth. Truth has been cast aside in this adulterous generation. Truth has been cast aside from the pulpit by the celebrated preachers of today…

The Once Saved Always Saved Lie…
One of the greatest lie and deception out there in the Church today is that once you are saved you are always saved and regardless of what you do or how you walk, you have your salvation secured and nothing will take that away from you.

This deception is so bad that many Christians have embraced the world while sitting on their pews on Sunday services. All sins spoken about in Romans chapter one are currently in the Church and practiced by those who call themselves Christians. Their preachers tell them that their Salvation is secured regardless.

Yet when we go to the New Testament, the warnings are clear to Christians. The warnings would make any serious Christian tremble and search their hearts to forsake any kind of sin. The warnings in Hebrew Chapter 10 are so strong that the Preachers who teach the Once Saved Always Saved Doctrine tremble and dare not teach on such verses. If they do, they spin it around to make it suit their doctrinal views…

However, the New Testament is very clear that Christians can lose their salvation by their own doing, by their actions, if they sin willfully after they have received the knowledge of Truth…

Some clever PhD preachers in the West have tried to put a spin on Hebrews 10 by stating that it refers to the None Christians. However, the Writer of Hebrews clearly writes by including himself in the warning by stating…“if we sin willfully…” This clearly shows us that he included himself to be a recipient of the Warning against apostasy and falling away by Sin…

The Bible is clear that if we willfully sin after we have received the knowledge of truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sin. There are a number of scriptures we can look at in the New Testament on this subject. However, I will point out a few beginning with Hebrews chapter 10… These scriptures are self explanatory and don’t need a PhD in Theology to explain them…

Sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of Truth…
Hebrews 10:26-31
(26) For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
(27) But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
(28) He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
(29) Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
(30) For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
(31) It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Now of course, many will say that well, this is perfectionism and no one lives that way. However, the Bible says we are to be perfect just as our Heavenly Father is perfect. Our perfection comes by the Grace of God and Sanctification by the Holy Spirit through God’s Holy Word and the work of Jesus Christ on the Cross.

However, you notice in Hebrews 10:26, he says that those that sin willfully after receiving the knowledge of truth… This same group goes ahead to trodden under foot the Son of God… And Count the Blood of Covenant as an unholy thing… And Despise the Spirit of Grace…

Sin willfully after receiving the knowledge of Truth…
Trodden under foot The Son of God…
Count the Blood of Jesus Christ as unholy…
Despise The Spirit of Grace…

Clearly the writer of Hebrews is speaking about Christians who fall away! There is no way he could be referring to the unsaved… Though it could be argued that he also referred to those who have fully received the message of salvation but rejected Jesus Christ as personal Savior… However, we should keep the context here that the writer of Hebrews included himself as a recipient of this warning.

Today, because of the false teaching of Once Saved Always Saved, many Christians willfully sin and live a life of sin, thinking that they secured their ticket to Heaven after they “accepted Jesus in their hearts”… There is no fear of God at all but a comfort in sinning and walking in ungodliness…

Many Christians continuously Trodden under foot The Son of God by rejecting the teachings of Jesus Christ and embracing lies… You cannot separate Jesus Christ from His Teachings. However, today many Christians with the help of their pastors and preachers try to separate Jesus Christ from His teachings. Jesus Christ was very clear in John 14, 15, and 16 that if you truly love Him, then you will keep His sayings… So, one way to trodden under foot The Son of God is to reject His Teachings and count them as none absolute.

Many Christians continue their way of apostasy by despising The Blood of Jesus Christ. They despise what Jesus Christ did on the Cross for them and despise The New Covenant. Remember the writer of Hebrews in the previous chapters from chapter 1 to 9, warned the Christian Jews about depending on The Mosaic Law for Salvation…

Today we have preachers and Pastors who preach the Law of Moses in their churches as a means of people obtaining the blessings and deliverances of The Lord. One common teaching in this area is that Christians obtain blessings from Jesus Christ only if they Tithe! Many Pastors in the Prosperity Movement call themselves modern day “Levites” and that all church members are to send tithes and offerings to sustain them. Those who fail to do so risk being cursed and suffer poverty. The Church has been held by such a lie for a very long time…

However, despising The Blood of Jesus Christ continues in many subtle and overt ways by preachers in the Word Faith Movement who teach that Jesus Christ’s shedding of The Blood on the Cross was not sufficient to save us…

These preachers include Kenneth Copeland, Marilyn Hickey, Jesse Duplantis, Creflo Dollar, Paul Crouch and most of the TBN TV family… They teach that for you to totally be saved and delivered, you have to go an extra mile by mostly giving a sacrifice of money…

It is amazing that such teachings continue to be aired on TBN yet Christians continue to buy into them. Recently John Hagee came out with a book stating that Jesus Christ did not come as Messiah to the Jews…

Brethren, lets watch out…many deceivers have gone out into the world who don’t believe that Jesus Christ is the True Messiah…they are wolves in sheep’s clothing…they might confess the Name of The Lord and call Him Lord, Lord but will deny His Teachings, and His Word. These are they that are very good at casting out demons in His Name, doing wonders and miracles in His Name, yet The Lord will say to them in that day “depart from me you workers of iniquity”.

Cast not away your Confidence and Trust in Jesus Christ…
Hebrews 10:32-36
(32) But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;
(33) Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.
(34) For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.
(35) Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.
(36) For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

The Hebrew saints had received the word of God in much affliction and tribulation just like other saints in the early church, yet the writer of Hebrews tells the saints not to cast away their confidence or assurance in The Lord.

The implication here is that one can throw away their assurance in The Lord; otherwise the writer of Hebrews would not have warned the saints about not doing so. Today many Christians are throwing away their assurance and confidence in Jesus Christ largely because of false doctrines created by men who have long departed from the Teachings and sayings of Jesus Christ.

The Bible commands us to examine ourselves to see if we still stand in the Faith. Don’t be deceived by deceiving preachers who tell you that once saved you are always saved no matter what you do…

2 Corinthians 13:5
(5) Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Examine your faith in Christ Jesus. Do you still keep the sayings, teachings and doctrine of Jesus Christ? Have you cast your assurance and confidence in Jesus Christ away?

The Lord is not pleased with those who turn back…
Hebrews 10:37-39
(37) For yet, a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
(38) Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
(39) But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

It is more clear in Hebrews 10 is written to Christians and those who know The Lord as a warning against backsliding and turning away from Jesus Christ and His Teachings. The writer of Hebrews uses very strong language here by warning the saints against turning back from The Lord and that The Lord is not pleased with such who turn back to perdition…

The implication is that there are those who forsake the way of truth and turn to back perdition… Perdition has to do with getting lost for ever, death, damnation, and hell. So, as Christians we should always examine our faith in light of God’s Holy Word and sayings of Jesus Christ.

Today many preachers and pastors are concerned about money, large numbers of people, riches, status, positive image, and large church buildings… They see Jesus Christ as some miracle machine through which they can attain all they want in this world, yet they despise what Jesus Christ has to say through His teachings.

Let us lay aside every sin…fixing our eyes on Jesus Christ…
Hebrews 12:1-2
(1) Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
(2) Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The writer of Hebrews cautions us to fix our eyes on Jesus Christ and lay aside every sin and weight that can so easily derail us. The implication here of course is personal responsibility insofar as one’s relationship with Jesus Christ is concerned. Sin and weight that comes with the love of the things of this world can derail you from Jesus Christ. The writer of Hebrews continues to caution us that we should look to Jesus Christ, the author and finisher our faith…

Don’t be like Esau…The Esau Christian Generation…
Hebrews 12:14-17
(14) Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
(15) Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
(16) Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.
(17) For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

The writer of Hebrews continues with the warning that we should not be like Esau who sold his birth right for one morsel of meat. He found no place for repentance. The implication is very clear here. The writer is speaking to Hebrew Christian Converts that they should not forsake Salvation in Jesus Christ by following the Mosaic Law for salvation.

Many Christians have sold their attained place in Christ Jesus just for the things of this world. It is what I call the Esau Generation. They will go at length to sell their souls to attain affluence in this world.

However, Esau found no place for repentance…this is a very serious warning, sin, love of this world , and false doctrines can lead you to hell, and you can lose your salvation that way. Hebrews Chapter 10 totally contradicts the Once Saved Always Saved Teachings. Work out your salvation with fear and trembling before The Lord.

We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ…
2 Corinthians 5:8-11
(8) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
(9) Wherefore we labor, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
(10) For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
(11) Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

There are Christians who teach erroneously that Christians will not appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ but yet scriptures in the Bible seem to contradict their beliefs. The truth of the matter is Christians will appear before the Judgment seat of Christ as the writer of Hebrews has clearly stated in the verse above. You will have to give an account before Christ for your actions.

The writer of Hebrews was a Christian and included himself among those who must appear before the Judgment seat of Christ. And give account for their life in this flesh. There is no free pass.

Many Christians do whatever they want to do in the flesh by claiming they are saved once and for all. This is a lie from Satan. The writer of Hebrews continues by telling us that “knowing therefore the terror of The Lord…” In other words we must fear God!

There is no longer the fear of The Lord among many Christians and Churches, especially in the West. This however, is due to false teachings like the Once Saved Always Saved doctrines that are very prominent in the Western Church today…

Oh Christian, Repent and be Reconciled Back To God!
2 Corinthians 5:19-21
(19) To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
(20) Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us; we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
(21) For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Many preachers and pastors always use the above verse to speak to none Christians in evangelism drives. However, the writer of Hebrews wrote to Christians and was addressing Christians who at some point seemed to have turned away from the Teachings and Doctrines of Jesus Christ.

The writer of Hebrews warns these Christians and now admonishes them to be reconciled to God. The scripture, yes, can be used in an evangelism outreach sense in that sinners should be reconciled with God through Jesus Christ.

However, in the book of Hebrews context, it was addressed to Christians who seemed to have backslide. Therefore, it is very relevant to today’s church…and I make the call out there that oh you Christian, repent and be reconciled back to God.

The Lord is loving, merciful, and forgiving that even those of His children who fall aside and backslide still have a chance to be reconciled back to God through Jesus Christ. Use that Grace while it is still available and be reconciled with The Lord.

Receive not the Grace of God in Vain…
2 Corinthians 6:1-2
(1) We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
(2) (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succored thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

Paul the apostle warns Christians at Corinth no to receive the grace of God in vain. What many preachers and pastors are teaching and preaching today that Once Saved Always Saved is false and receiving the grace of God in Vain. These are they that offend the Spirit of Grace.

Such individuals think that they can continue to teach falsely, sin, love the world, and deny the teachings and saying of Jesus Christ while continue being “saved”. They trend underfoot the blood of Jesus Christ and reject Jesus Christ as Lord over their lives. They preach a false salvation, a “cheap grace”, and a false assurance.

Brethren, walking in sin, holding to false teachings, false doctrine, love of the world, lust of the eyes, and pride of life, all is part of receiving the grace of God in Vain. Just because we are saved by grace does not mean abusing this grace given to us. Liberty in Christ Jesus is not a license to sin, walk in false doctrines, and despise the authority of Jesus Christ in His Words.

You are restricted by your own bowels – desires…
2 Corinthians 6:11-13
(11) O ye Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged.
(12) Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels.
(13) Now for a recompense in the same, I (speak as unto my children,) be ye also enlarged.

Paul writes to the Corinthians and admonishes them that they are restricted by their desires and was reason for their short comings. They entertained sin and were getting equally yoked with none Christians and the world.

Some Christians have been deceived by preachers who tell them that they have all they want and desire on this planet. They preach messages that make Christians lust after things in the world and focus their desires on the riches and things of the world rather than Christ Jesus and His Word.

So, it is time that we re-examine our selves to see if we still stand in the faith. Does The Lord govern your desires or have you been deceived by preachers that Lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and pride of this life is OK as long as you do it for God?

Come out from among them and be separate…
2 Corinthians 6:14-18
(14) Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
(15) And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
(16) And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
(17) Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
(18) And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

There is no doubt that the world has come into many Churches and consumed them. Many sermons and teachings today in many churches are about how to make it big in this world, how to live a successful and affluent life and how to be the best that you can be. Secular Humanism is what is being preached on pulpits in the Church.

Christians are being unequally yoked together with none believers. They are receiving doctrines of devils and demons as they seek to fellowship with the world. Brethren, this is spiritual fornication.

Separate from such so-called Christians and seek out those who truly love Jesus Christ and His Teachings as we have them in the New Testament. Seek out those Christians who will challenge you to a life of holiness before The Lord and will hold you accountable to God’s Word and fellowship with such.

The Church of Jesus Christ is NOT a building but the Body of Believers in Jesus Christ. I repeat the warning, don’t be deceived, watch out; you could lose your salvation!

May The Lord Grant you Grace and Mercy...

In Christ Jesus
