Is Conjuring the Holy Spirit Scriptural?

Is Conjuring the Holy Spirit Scriptural?

Apparent in contemporary post-modern Christian denominations like Pentecostalism and charismatic Christianity is the heresy of conjuring the HOLY SPIRIT. The term conjure means:

1. to affect or influence by or as if by invocation or spell.
2. to effect, produce, bring, etc., by or as by magic: to conjure a miracle.
3. to call upon or command (a devil or spirit) by invocation or spell.
4. to call or bring into existence by or as if by magic (usually fol. by up): She seemed to have conjured up the person she was talking about.
5. to bring to mind; recall (usually fol. by up): to conjure up the past.
6. to appeal to solemnly or earnestly: I conjure you to hear my plea.
7. Obsolete. to charge solemnly.
8. to call upon or command a devil or spirit by invocation or spell.
9. to practice magic.
10. to practice legerdemain.
11. Obsolete. to conspire.

12. Chiefly Southern U.S. an act or instance of witchcraft or voodoo, esp. a spell.

The above definitions categorically show the occult ramifications of spirit conjuring. Do you know that the songs we sing in order to ‘lure’ the holy spirit in our churches are doctrinally off. The Holy spirit has been convicting me about this heresy is apostate Christendom for quite some time. Don Muzat soundly argues that;

‘’There is disagreement and contention in the church today over the subject of the work of the Holy Spirit. What Charismatics claim is the reviving work of the Holy Spirit, other Christians define as deception. The advent of psychological techniques has prompted discussion over the nature and source of the "fruit of Spirit." The revival of ancient mysticism, and the growing popularity of new age methods has introduced "eastern spirituality" into the church…. You receive the Holy Spirit from Jesus Christ who comes to you through the Word of God. There are no human dispensers of the Holy Spirit or "Holy Ghost Bartenders." Those who claim such titles are guilty of arrogance and presumption…. Throughout Scripture, the Holy Spirit is connected to the Word of God. While the Holy Spirit is our only teacher and will lead us into all the truth, the Bible is his only textbook. … Since the Bible defines unbelievers as being dead in their trespasses and sin (Ephesians 2: 1,5; Colossians 2: 13), there is nothing they can do by way of human reason or strength to be saved. Spiritually dead people can not make spiritual decisions. It is the Holy Spirit, working through the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, who brings the unbeliever to faith (Ephesians 2: 8-9). Theologically, this is called justification. In justification, the Holy Spirit acts upon the heart and will of the unbeliever externally. He operates through the Word of God that speaks to the human condition. After conversion, the Christian is enabled to cooperate with the work of the Holy Spirit in sanctification…. In sanctification, the work of the Holy Spirit is internal. While he still works through the vehicle of the Word of God that has been received into the heart, he sanctifies, leads, and guides the Christian via an internal operation, working upon the mind, the will and the emotions. There are many churches who have a rich and dynamic understanding of justification, but are very weak in teaching sanctification. While they are quick to point out that there is nothing one can do to be saved, they fail to teach Christians how to live and walk in the Spirit now that they have been saved. Sanctification often becomes nothing more than a list of moral directives or some vague notion concerning doing good works. A clear distinction must be made between the work of the Holy Spirit in justification and the work of the Holy Spirit in sanctification lest we create passive Christians’’. Don Matzat, Issues, Etc. In this article I demonstrate how the conjuring of demons in satanic worship is very similar to what is done in many Pentecostal and charismatic denominations. I will demonstrate this using some of the so called Holy Spirit songs. Remember that these so called holy spirit songs are often sung during the so called deliverance sessions. There is no doubt that we need the holy spirit especially in these last days of great deception however, if we do not watch we will surely be deceived. The holy spirit is HOLY, he is the spirit of truth that in dwelleth with in believers. Therefore he can not be conjured like a demon. The Lord Jesus Christ said;

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.(John14:16-17)

Therefore the ‘spirit’ that is conjured to fall on believers during Pentecostal and charismatic deliverance sessions is certainly not a spirit of truth but a spirit of error from the devil. It is not the holy spirit that falls on believers, rather it is the demons from the pit of hell that fall on these believers. Paul Howey reiterates that ;

I unwittingly used to write and sing unscriptural songs like “Holy Spirit Come” without realizing how doctrinally off I was. Jesus said that He would never leave us or forsake us and the Bible teaches that Christians already have the Holy Spirit. Further, the Bible also teaches that we are temples of the Holy Spirit and that God’s Spirit no longer dwells in temples made by the hands of man. Yet I was desperately trying to create a musical atmosphere by which I could unwittingly “conjure” up the Holy Spirit so He would “fall” and manifest himself in tangible reality in churches made by the hands of men. That was more like witchcraft than Christianity and I have since repented of my heresy. http://www.factnet.org/discus/messages/3/13897.html?1134847087

Deliverances must be based on the word of God.

Many born again Christians believe that if the Holy Spirit does not sleigh you, you have not been delivered. Remember their understanding of deliverance is not deliverance from sin, but rather deliverance from curses, demons and more importantly poverty. The people who fall when the so called holy spirit sleighs them are often heard saying, we have been delivered. Some of the Christians that did not get a chance to be sleigh by the conjured ‘holy spirit’ are often seen following the Pastor in order to get ‘holy spirit’ touch. How come, whenever, these songs are sung, virtually, the same people continue to be sleigh in the spirit and I guess to be re-delivered. Born again Christians must be equipped with the word of God so that they are adequately empowered to test all their experiences in light of God’s holy word in this era of incredible deception.

In an article titled end time saints and the holy spirit Bro.Kato Mivule demonstrates very well the scriptural fact that we can not do without the holy spirit.

End Time Saints and The Holy Spirit

http://www.yesumulungi.com/Prophesy/Proph50.htm

He gives an example of the boldness of the apostles after receiving the Holy Spirit. However, we must note that the apostles never conjured the Holy Spirit to baptize them with fire. They simply waited upon the promise of the lord which was freely given to them. The conjuring of the spirit of God has virtually no scriptural basis. God freely gives his holy spirit to indwell saints as he promised.

He wipes away my tears
He shakes everything that has been holding me captive.
I can not remain as I’m

Come Sir, Come Sir, The truth is we need you.
Come holy spirit , Come sir, Come sir, The truth is need you.

Note: As these songs are sung people begin to fall especially women(of course men as well) and one begins to hear all kinds of strange noises, wailings, and ecstatic movements. In some of the cases the pastor might say we welcome you Holy Spirit.

Let us now compare with songs the Satanists (abasamize) in Uganda sing to conjure the demons

Luganda version

Song one: This song is sung to conjure a demon called Mukasa(god of the lake)

Serubwatuka Mukasa wansi wali Enyanja, Serubwatuka wanuka wagulu eriyo omuliro
Serubwatuka Mukasa wansi wali omuddo, Serubwatuka wanuka wagulu eriyo omuliro
Serubwatuka Mukasa wansi wali emigga, Serubwatuka wanuka wagulu eriyo omuliro

English Translation

Mukasa he who thunders, there are lakes down here, He who thunders fall away from up where there is fire
Mukasa he who thunders, there is grass down here, He who thunders fall away from up where there is fire
Mukasa he who thunders, there are rivers down here, He who thunders fall away from up where there is fire

Song two

Lubale wewaffe, Golokoka okwate, Wankwata ndi Muto sigenda kwelabira
Mukasa owewaffe, Golokoka okwate, Wankwata ndi Muto sigenda kwelabira

Muno mulimu ejedalu, muno mulimu ejedalu, dalu, emizimu, emikabwe
Muno mulimu ejedalu, muno mulimu ejedalu, dalu, emizimu, emikabwe
Muno mulimu ejedalu, muno mulimu ejedalu, dalu, mukube ku ngalo
Muno mulimu ejedalu, muno mulimu ejedalu, dalu, munkubire engoma

English translation

Our demons arise and possess me, you possessed me while I was still young, I will never forget.
Our Mukasa, arise and possess me, you possessed me, while I was still young, I will never forget

We have mad ghosts here, we have mad ghosts here
We have mad ghosts here, we have mad ghosts here
We have mad ghosts here, we have mad ghosts here, clap your hands
We have mad ghosts here, we have mad ghosts here, drum for me.

Note: After the singing of these songs the demons possess people.They begin to make strange noises; Some laugh, other cry , others wail, others shout , others ecstatically move about just like in the Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches, when the so called holy spirit possesses the believers.

Music must be doctrinally sound

There is no doubt in many countries in Africa such as Uganda, gospel music is selling like hot cakes. However a close scrutiny of the songs on some of the albums reveals that a number of these songs are doctrinally off. Because gospel music is very poplar, even secular musicians have also started to sing ‘gospel’ music so as to tap the born again market. Foolishly, enough some Pentecostal churches and radio stations play these songs which contain a twist of scripture. How pathetic!!!

Saints, the junk from the world has crept into so called born again churches. But funny enough, the conjured ‘holy spirit’ continues to fall on people in our churches. How sick!
One popular musician sang a song that born again Christians like so much and which has been played in some churches and on some Pentecostal radio stations. It goes like this;

Yesu bwomwekwata, osaba, adamu essala zaffe,….abasiramu temufayo Allah ye waffe.

When you stick on Jesus, you pray, he answers our prayers,…do not mind Moslems our God is Allah.

In his letter to the New vision, Paul Mugeni(Kampala) reiterates that:

''SIR — I was shocked when i watched Bebe Cool, Phina ‘Masanyalaze’ and Sarah Zawedde ‘thrill’ God’s people with their music at Holy Fire Ministries Church in Namulanda. We as the Church of Christ need discernment and secularism should be banned in church. The church where the musicians were performing is called ‘Holy Fire’. how ironical! We need to pray for Pastor Muwanguzi for a change in his spirit and his flock too!''

ECUMENICAL DECEPTION UNFOLDS: FR. MUSAALA SINGS IN BORN AGAIN CHURCH

http://watchmanafrica.blogspot.com/2007/04/ecumenical-deception-unfoldsfrmusaala.html

Funny enough, despite this junk, the ‘holy spirit’ continues to come and to sleigh believers???The word of God warns us about loving the world, it cautions us about being equally yoked with unbelievers, it categorically warms us to test all things. We have stubbornly refused to separate from the junk of the word. Born again Christians are committing fornication with the world, the state and all the garbage in apostate Christendom. TIME TO BE DISCERNING.
