Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it(John 8:44).

Museveni: Archbishop Lwanga died in faith - The Pearl Times

Rubaga, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Dr Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, the Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese who was found dead in his bedroom Saturday morning, was a prelate who always spoke truth to power.

Lwanga has always been distinct among his peers who always preferred to stay quiet on critical issues affecting the nation or when they speak, choose to speak vaguely. Be it condemning recent abductions, torture, corruption or responding to his critics, Lwanga never threw away opportunity to speak when leading Eucharistic celebrations.

And Lwanga’s forthrightness often earned scathing responses from several government officials, including the head of state.

Lwanga’s last public message — which he delivered Friday during the Ecumenical Public Way of the Cross when he was among religious leaders under the Uganda Joint Christian Council (UJCC) umbrella that brings together Roman Catholic Church, Anglican Church and Orthodox — is a tribute of forthrightness.

Lwanga said religious leaders are deeply concerned by the actions of some security personnel that have resulted in disappearance of people, especially the youth. “This is brewing anger, division, fear and anxiety within the population and totally contravenes the human rights frameworks to which we are signatory as a country. We are troubled that the disregard of these God given rights and freedoms shall weaken our social fiber of harmony, social cohesion and responsive leadership.”

Hundreds of youth, mostly supporter of National Unity Platform (NUP) were kidnapped during the election season. When released from kidnap, many returned with scars, limping, and many signs indicative of torture.

Plot to kill Bobi Wine

During his New Year message, Lwanga, said he and the Catholic Church were being accused of plotting to kill Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, a NUP presidential candidate. This was days before the end of presidential election campaigns, ahead of January 14th election.

He said some people he did not name were lying that he wanted to poison Bobi Wine through Holy Communion: “Some people came out to say I and the Catholic Church were plotting to kill Bobi Wine and we would poison him through the (Eucharistic) Host,” Dr Lwanga said during the homily, “That was a big allegation, I can’t do that. I am the one who wedded Bobi so that means I have a personal attachment to him. Bobi loves his Church and he should not be made to hate it just like that!”

During the homily, Lwanga also said there were fake news spreading on social media that he had been bought my Museveni. “People were on social media spreading lies, abusing me, and saying all sorts of things that I have been bought (by Museveni). If you ask such people to provide proof, they can never get it.”

Spying on him

The 2018 Easter season was when the Dr Lwanga — government relationship ebbed to its lowest point. During the Way of Cross on 30th March, Lwanga dropped a bombshell: government was spying on him, he revealed. Lwanga said he had received a call from someone who informed him that government had recruited priests and nuns to spy on him. He said the president was acting on wrong information provided by security agencies.

“Government thinks you want to overthrow government, be careful your grace. You must be the next Luwum (Archbishop Jonan Luwum murdered Ida Amin in 1977),” Dr Lwanga quoted what the caller had told him. Dr Lwanga said another unidentified person came at night at his gate and threw a letter. “When I opened the letter, I saw a list of those who have been recruited to work for the security agencies.”

When government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo dismissed his assertion as unfounded, Lwanga responded by revealing more details during Easter Mass on April 1st. He said one day, security agencies officials turned up asking to check room of a priest who had died to retrieve government stores. The archbishop said the security officers claimed they had given that priest a pistol. But he did not explain if soldiers got the pistol they came looking for or not. Lwanga urged religious leaders to stop spying for government.

A week later—on April 8th 2018, Museveni held a face to face meeting with Dr Lwanga at Nakasero State Lodge. The relationship thawed thereafter.

Quoting Museveni, preaching democracy

But by end 2018, Lwanga was fired up again, hastily responding to Museveni New Year speech (which he had made on the night of December 31st) accusing religious leaders of behaving as if they are an authority on everything, speaking in favour of people they fancy so they can get them into political power.

“Some of our religious people are so full of arrogance,” Museveni had said. “They talk most authoritatively on all and everything even when they have not bothered to find out the truth. This is assuming they do not have evil intentions which would be worse. That would make them the Kayaffas, the Chief Priest – that betrayed Jesus.”

In response, Lwanga said the clergy are simply playing their cardinal role as citizens to participate in nation building, and as well as resisting bad politics as President Museveni himself once asked Ugandans to do.

“The president, one day said all of us belong to the Movement system and he explained to us why he started the National Resistance Movement, hee said; ‘I want people to resist bad politics’,” Dr  Lwanga said.  “So he commanded people to resist bad politics, he said we should resist bad politics, and I think he was right there. Clap for it [loud and long clapping]. Let us resist bad politics, let us resist bad politics and promote national unity because we’re all interested in this country and also to build a strong future for this country.”

As Lwanga quoted the Constitution on freedom of expression and Museveni’s historical remarks on democracy, he was loudly cheered by the congregation. He referred to the National Resistance Movement (NRM’s) 10-point Programme stipulated by Museveni in his book, Sowing the Mustard Seed, as a good guide in the work of national renewal.

Lwanga’s sudden death has elicited different reactions. “Who has killed my favourite Archbishop?” former Makerere University Vice Chancellor Prof Venanscious Baryamureba tweeted. “May his soul rest in eternal peace. We shall join you at the appointed time!”

President Museveni, Katikiro Peter Mayiga, Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu accused of behind Cyprian Kizito Lwanga’s death, shocking video exposing their dirty master plan surface on the internet

https://www.boom.ug/national/3087/they-killed-him-because-he-refused-to-poison-bobi-wine-shocking-video-exposing-their-dirty-master-plan-surface-on-the-internet/.html

His sudden death came just hours after he was seen in a very healthy condition while leading the way of the cross event that took place on Good Friday.

Lwanga’s death has called for many questions some of which haven’t found answers where concerned Ugandans are asking for the Archibishop’s real cause of death.

It has been alleged that Kizito Lwanga was poisoned by his close servants on orders of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni after he failed to take their poison to Kyadondo East outgoing legislator also former presidential candidate Robert Kyaguranyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine.

According to the video going viral online, blogger Fred Lumbuye Kajjubi, who weeks ago warned the archibishop telling him to be careful otherwise he could get killed, Katikiro Peter Mayiga and Archibishop Steven Kaziimba, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Janet Kataha Museveni, Yoweri Museveni, Maama Fiina among other people were behind Lwanga’s death.

Lumbuye alleges that, On April 1, a meeting was held in Mbuya Barracks lead by Muhoozi Kainerugaba and Peter Lokech who discussed tricks and ways of how to murder Archibishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga. In the meeting, the team decided they should get people who would help them accomplish their mission and among them were Prime Minister for Buganda Kingdom Peter Mayiga and Archibishop Steven Kaziimba Mugalu.

Mugalu and Mayiga were later informed and taken to Statehouse to meet with President Museveni and his wife Janet Kataha in another meeting where ways of finishing the man of God were devised. The meeting allegedly attended by President Museveni, Janet Kataha, Peter Mayiga, Steven Kaziimba, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Peter Lokech and Abel Kandiho Who all agreed that Lwanga should be killed by poisoning.

Lumbuye alleges further that Mayiga and Mugalu got people close to Lwanga who later gave him poison on Friday at 4pm and he breathed his last on Saturday at 11:30pm.

“They agreed that Mayiga and Kazimba get people close to Lwanga to give him poison. They got the people, Catholic church you should know that it is Museveni who killed Lwanga using his servants in church who were close to him.  On 2nd after the way to the cross, at 4pm, the boys gave Lwanga poison and called their immediate bosses and informed them that they had finished their job of giving Lwanga poison. All security agencies were informed to prepare for the news they wanted to hear. At exactly 11:30pm on April 3, the boys informed Museveni, Mayiga, Kaziimba, Janet that their job of finishing Lwanga was done. Museveni tasked security forces to deploy immediately to avoid any uprisings,” Lumbuye alleges.

Lumbuye narrates further that the night Lwanga died, Museveni ordered the Special Forces Command (SFC) to drive the Lwanga’s body to his home in Kisozi where rituals were performed on it by witch doctors Maama Fina inclusive. He says that two witch doctors were from Congo, the other two from Tanzania, One from Senegal with Maama Fiina being the sixth one.

“The body was taken by security operatives on Saturday night to Kisozi. They performed rituals on the body when Museveni was watching. They bewitched the body to erase the religion it has been consuming for 60+ years so that Lwanga’s spirit doesn’t come back to haunt them. Sunday morning, it was driven back to an unknown destination,” Lumbuye says.

He adds that security personnel clad in plain clothes were ordered to surround Lubaga cathedral and Lwanga’s home where his family members were expected to cause chaos. Some of them are claimed for having been kidnapped on Museveni’s orders.

Lumbuye says that Museveni ordered the killing of Dr Kizito Lwanga and other high profile Baganda because they threaten him. He adds that he has planted spies in churches where some of them are being supervised by Peter Mayiga.

“Remember three months ago i made a video telling you about a plan to crush the Catholic church with their first priority being Cyprian Lwanga with an intention of killing him because they had given Mayiga a responsibility of planting spies on the church who were going to work as nuns and fathers. Peter Mayiga went to the State house in a meeting to plan on finishing Lwanga at 9am, he left Entebbe at 11am. They also agreed to finish all NUP Supporters, and all those disagreeing with Museveni. People who are going to kill them have already been sent and given ways on how to do it,” Lumbuye States.

The blogger explains different tactics Museveni uses to murder his enemies.

“Museveni is conducting a scientific genocide whereby he uses killing tactics like using poison and lying that the people died of Cardiac Arrest or COVID-19, Accidents or detaining and killing them from prisons”.

He narrates that state agents poison people during functions where they put poison on microphones after learning that their targeted individuals are to use those microphones.

“There are functions organiSed where state plants its people who give poison to the targeted individuals, they inquire from the organisers and owners of the functions on which people will be attending, if they find their targeted person is among and will be giving a speech, they put poison on the microphone, they get other people that used the microphone and give them an antidote for the poison but leave you out to die. They are even going to start this in parliament. A Munyankore lady who was working in parliament canteen died weeks ago, it is suspected that that lady either refused to do a mission she was tasked with or she linked information to people who they wanted her to kill through poison. She died of kidney failure, her family was stopped from taking their daughter to hospitals outside Uganda till when she died. Sanitizers sprayed on microphones after people talking, and hands. That’s not sanitizer that’s poison,” Lumbuye alleges.

He mentions names of Museveni’s targeted individuals who are next on the death list.

“Bobi Wine, Betty Nambooze, Erias Lukwago, Latif Sebagala, Ssemuju Nganda, GEN. Katumba Wamala and Nambesha ……,” Lumbuye lists the names.

Accordingly, he has warned people including Shiekh Ndiragwa who retired days ago saying that he must be poisoned already.

“Shiekh Ndiragwa may be poisoned already, so you go for a check-up. Information says that they gave you poison a long time ago because you know many missions that have been ongoing at Kibuli and the way people have been dying. After giving you poison, they plant someone to monitor if the poison is working on you.” Lumbuye warns.

Lumbuye has accompanied his video with video clips of Museveni promising to kill all National Unity Platform (NUP) Supporters and Baganda who he claims are enemies to Uganda and Africa as a whole. The video has since gone viral on different social media platforms.

The blogger has been warning different individuals via his social media platforms some of which have died already. He claims that the sudden deaths of Shiekh Nuhu Muzaata, Dr Anas Kaliisa among other high profile people were not natural death but state sponsored deaths.

President Museveni has joined a growing list of government officials, opposition politicians and other members of the public to eulogise the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Kampala, Dr Cyprian Kizito Lwanga who died Saturday morning.

"With profound grief, I have learnt of the death of Kampala Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga. I join the Catholic Church, all religious faithful, and the country in mourning Archbishop Lwanga. He has died in faith. May God grant his soul eternal repose," the president tweeted moments after the Prime Minister, Dr Ruhakana Rugunda described the prelate’s death as “shocking and a huge loss to the Christian family.”

Dr Lwanga was found in his room dead, according to a statement issued by Fr Pius Male Ssentumbwe.

"The sudden death of His Grace Dr Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, the Archbishop of Kampala, is shocking and a huge loss to the Christian family and the country at large. We will miss his wise counsel on many issues. May the Almighty God Rest His Soul in Eternal Peace," Dr Rugunda tweeted.

Lwanga’s postmortem results still inconclusive

https://www.monitor.co.ug/uganda/news/national/lwanga-s-postmortem-results-still-inconclusive--3349422

Monday April 05 2021
  By Andrew Bagala

The results of the postmortem done on the body of Kampala Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga turned out inconclusive on the cause of the death, highly-placed sources said last night.

Sources with knowledge of the autopsy said the exercise was carried out jointly by the government and private pathologists sent by the Catholic Church.
Specialists, including Prof Michael Odida, consultant pathologis, Mukasa Nsereko and police pathologists witnessed or participated in the examination.

This newspaper was informed that the initial postmortem was done at Mulago National Referral Hospital mortuary on Saturday lasting into the late evening.

The prelate’s body was reportedly thereafter moved to Rubaga Hospital.
A preliminary investigation that yields no cause of death in medical science is categorised as “sudden death” and can derive from different causes.

Some of the cause, according to a January 20, 2015 article in the Journal of Emergency Medical Emergencies, include arrhythmia (irregular heart beat), acute myocardia (artery rupture), intracranial catastrophe (low oxygen supply to the brain), pulmonary embolism (blood clot) and dissection rupture from long-term comorbidities such as hypertension and high cholesterol.

The Catholic Church yesterday declined to speculate on cause of death, saying they had received no autopsy results.
The failure to find what caused the death to Archbishop Lwanga has led to the delay in the issuance of the post-mortem preliminary report.

Instead, the examiners have opted to carry out further toxicological and histological analysis, the first to find out there if is poison in the body while the latter test involving examination of internal organs under the microscope is to establish if cause of death can be attributable to any organ.

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga said there are several tests that are still being carried out before the report is issued.
“The postmortem examination was done, but the report isn’t yet out,” Mr Enanga said yesterday.

Archbishop Lwanga was found dead in his room on Saturday morning, hours after he led the public Way of The Cross in Kampala and delivered the Uganda Joint Christian Council Easter message.

A preliminary autopsy report is often released within 24 hours after the examination.
The extensive examination can take longer, weeks or months, and the tests may be conducted within or outside the country.

Recently, police and the Directorate of Government Analytical Laboratory acquired advanced forensic technology to analyse toxic agents.
Before and after the 2021 elections, Archbishop Lwanga repeatedly hinted that his life was in danger, and it remained unclear who wanted to kill him. In 2018, before the Easter festivity, Archbishop Lwanga said unidentified people in a numberless vehicle parked at the entrance to his residence in Rubaga, a Kampala outskirt, but they sped off when police officers approached to find out who they were.

He later spoke about receiving telephone calls from unknown people threatening to harm him if he continued criticising the government.
The prelate had, among others, questions the violence meted by state security forces on civilians during and after the presidential elections, the abduction of opposition supporters many of whose whereabouts remained unknown as well as other grotesque rights violations in the country.

He said the spate of disappearances of citizens made the ruling National Resistance Movement government look like the Idi Amin regime unless they changed course.

After the incident of strangers parking at the gate of the place of abode of Archbishop Lwanga, the Inspector General of Police, Mr Martins Okoth Ochola, visited the primate and gave him armed guards.

Archbishop Lwanga, who has also worked closely with the government on a range of development projects, including rehabilitation of Uganda Martyrs Shrines in Namugongo, previously accused security agencies of infiltrating the Catholic Church and hiring priests to gather intelligence on its leaders.

President Museveni and Archbishop Lwanga later met over allegations of spying on him, although the prelate severally reiterated continued threat to his life.
There is no evidence as of yet to suggest a foul play in Lwanga’s death, but some bishops and former presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine, yesterday questioned the suddenness and cause.

Sudden deaths
Sudden deaths of prominent people in Uganda has always attracted conspiracy theories of foul play.

In 2012, the sudden death of youthful Butaleja District Woman MP Cerinah Nebanda shocked the nation and many of her colleague legislators and family members alleged that she could have been poisoned.

They attempted to carry out private examinations, but government stopped it leading to the arrest at Entebbe International Airport of a senior pathologist, Dr Sylvester Onzivua and some legislators as they attempted to take samples from the deceased for toxicological analysis in South Africa. Archbishop Lwanga joins the list of other high-profile citizens to drop dead suddenly.

Other such cases included that of Brig Nobel Mayombo, the then Defence ministry permanent secretary, whom some people alleged was poisoned.

The government constituted a team of experts, which investigated the death, but the report wasn’t made public although President Museveni said Brig Mayombo did not die of poison and that he had been on the radar of some foreign states.

In the months after falling out with the government, the former coordinator of Intelligence, Gen David Sejusa, claimed that the threat of being poisoned was real that senior military officers and ministers carried own food and water to meetings.

National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has tasked the President Yoweri Museveni government to provide answers regarding the exact cause of Kampala Archdiocese Archbishop Dr Cyprian Kizito Lwanga.

Archbishop Lwanga was found dead in his house in Lubaga on Saturday.

After observing the way of the cross on Good Friday, Archbishop Lwanga had prepared his Easter Sunday sermon.

But hours later, he was found dead.

In his first message reacting to the news of the death of Lwanga, Bobi Wine claimed the Archbishop had died under very unclear circumstances.

And on April 04, when he got a chance to speak to his Catholic brothers and sisters at Lubaga Cathedral in Kampala, Bobi Wine suggested that the Catholic Church could be facing a wave of deaths of religious leaders like that in the Islamic faith over the years.

“I want to ask [the Museveni government] to know the cause of the death of Archbishop Cyprian Lwanga and other religious leaders,” Bobi Wine said.

“We have many questions but fewer answers on the deaths of religious leaders. We need answers.”

The postmortem report from examination of Lwanga’s body is yet to be released.

But there are some claims he could have succumbed to diabetes or died in his sleep.
