Besigye Exposes How Some 1st Family Members Have Been “Eating” COVID19 Money…

Four time presidential candidate, Dr. Col Kizza Besigye has again come out all guns blazing, this time particularly pointing at state house beneficiaries and close Museveni allies.
He decried the regime’s misuse of power to accumulate wealth, moreso from from a tragic reality like the deadly COVID19 outbreak.
The four time Presidential candidate with anger uttered that the COVID19 bonanza by Uganda’s NRM/M7 Junta “royals” is as brazen as it’s repugnant.
Besigye argued with proof that the numerous urgent procurements for Covid19 response didn’t follow any procurement procedures. He also noted that though “very urgently” done, many of the procured items haven’t yet even been delivered several months after.
Museveni’s former colleague intimated that among the bonanza beneficiaries are Mrs Charlotte Keinerugaba (wife to Gen Muhoozi Keinerugaba) and her sister Mrs Ishta Muganga; both ladies being the daughters of Hon Sam Kutesa, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
He added that their company, Silverbacks Pharmacy LTD, was solely contracted to supply and install oxygen plants for Mulago and Entebbe Hospitals at a whopping cost of Shs 6.4 billion.
“100% of their invoice was paid by 30th June 2020, but by September, work hadn’t commenced, according to Covid19 Interventions Report of October 2020,” Besigye grumbled.
“The Covid19 Interventions Report recommends a forensic audit by the Auditor General and a procurement audit by the PPDA. We all know how all these end up,” he added.
Besigye, who is a professional medical doctors greatly seconded a local daily publication’s findings that poor health sector is what’s killing COVID-19 patients in Uganda. He added that such only touches on the tip of the Ministry of Health mega scandals that will he promised will unfold over time.
Relating once again to his list of COVID19 beneficiaries, Besigye also recalled that Dr Diana Atwiine, the Permanent Secretary (PS) of the Ministry of Health grew up in State House and was educated on State House Scholarship.
Before becoming the Health PS, Dr Diana Atwiine was the Director of State House Medicine and Health Service Delivery Monitoring Unit!
“As the NRM/M7 Junta “royals” revel in the Covid19 bonanza, Ugandans face a terrible health and economic crisis; school children and students under lockdown since March 2020 have uncertain future; most teachers haven’t been paid since lockdown; small businesses have been decimated,” Besigye stated, justifying why his former boss Museveni must go.
