Billy Graham died on the 21st February 2018, at the age of 99.  He was, beyond question, one of the most influential men in modern history.  It has been estimated that he preached to something in the region of 200 million people, in at least 180 countries and territories of the world.  And hundreds of millions more heard him via radio, TV, film, etc., so that some estimates of the numbers he reached go as high as 2.2 billion people.[1]  Millions think of him as a wonderful Christian and the world’s greatest preacher.
But is this correct?  The Bible says, “Ye shall know them by their fruits” (Matt. 7:16).  Let us examine the doctrines and conduct of this man, to test the fruits which he produced.
His False Arminian “Gospel”
There is much we could say about the false Arminian “free will gospel” which Billy Graham preached.  He always spoke of making a “decision” for Christ – he believed man’s will is free to choose to follow Christ or not.  This is why he held his famous and utterly unbiblical “altar calls” so beloved of Arminian preachers everywhere.  Instead of the biblical truth that the new birth is a sovereign work of the Holy Spirit of God (Jn. 1:13), in which the person is entirely passive, and that only when one is born again is he able to repent and believe in Christ, Graham reduced this mighty work of God to a man’s own choice, whenever it suits him, to “make a decision” for Christ.  Putting the cart before the horse, Graham (like all Arminians) claimed that when one “decides for Christ”, then he is born again.  Salvation is thus placed in the hands of fallen, impotent, sinful man, not God.  It was, and is, nothing but a lie.
It is claimed that hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, were converted at his crusades in this way; but this is simply not true.  Numerous examples could be given, but here is just one, so representative of all the rest:
At the Graham crusade in Singapore in 1978, 20 000 “decisions for Christ” (as Arminians call them) were recorded.  But only 18 months later, when a survey was conducted of the progress of those who had recorded a “decision”, 62% of those 20 000 were first-time “commitments”, and only 49% of them (some 6076 people) ever attended a “follow-up” class or a church.  Only 1336 of them completed a follow-up course, and another 850 lost interest before they could be baptized or join a church.  Thus, a mere 18 months after the crusade, only 486 people had continued as professing “Christians”!  And what’s more, many of those 486 were attending non-Evangelical churches![2]
Were, then, those 20 000 “decisions” genuine conversions?  Certainly not.  How could they be?  No one is truly converted by “making a decision” for Christ.  No sinner, dead in sins (Eph. 2:1), can “decide” to give himself spiritual life.  A dead man can do nothing.  Regeneration is God’s work, not man’s.  Those who “decide”, who “go forward” or pray a repeat-after-me “sinner’s prayer”, fall away because they are not irresistibly drawn to Christ by the Father, for salvation (Jn. 6:44).  They have decided, but God has not drawn them.
And here is something else: Graham was not above staging his “altar calls”!  His organisation was known to have thousands of its own workers “come forward”, to create the impression of spiritual conviction, and to spur others to “come forward”!  Many of those who responded to his call, then, were “plants” in the audience, members of his own team![3]
Whenever the subject of Billy Graham comes up, someone, somewhere, is bound to object and say, “But I know someone who was truly converted at a Billy Graham crusade!”, or even, “But I myself was converted at his crusade!”  To which we answer: it is of course entirely possible that some people were truly converted while attending a Graham crusade, just as happens at times at other Arminian evangelistic meetings.  But it needs to be clearly understood that in such cases, any true conversions which occurred were solely because it was God’s divinely appointed time for their conversion.  It was in fact in spite of, and not because of, Billy Graham!  People have been converted in all kinds of places.  God is sovereign in His doings.  Just because a man was converted while sitting in, say, a Roman Catholic cathedral during the mass, does this mean he was converted because of the priest, or because of the mass?  By no means!  It was God’s sovereign time.  He may have simply been sitting there, having previously been a Papist but now under deep conviction of sin because the Lord had opened his heart to the truth of the Gospel, and the Holy Spirit moved him to repent of his sins and trust savingly in Christ right then and there.  The outward circumstances of time and place were irrelevant.  It was God’s appointed time.  It is the Lord who saves, and no other.
Besides, the Lord has used many unregenerate instruments, even many wicked instruments, as He sovereignly pleases, throughout all history – again, because He is entirely sovereign.  Even a wicked man, a man still dead in sins himself, whose preaching is decidedly unscriptural for the most part, may at times say certain true things according to the Gospel!  Things which in His sovereignty the Lord may use in the life of one of His elect, at that time.  For example, even a false minister may at times say something like, “You are a sinner, dead in your trespasses and sins, bound for hell, whose only hope is to call upon the Name of the Lord for salvation” – and hearing this, an elect soul may indeed cry out for salvation.  The Lord who made use of Balaam’s ass, and even of Balaam himself (who said some things which were the truth of God, even though he was a false prophet-for-hire), is free to use any instrument He chooses.
But this in no way whatsoever means the blessing of God is upon the work of a false preacher!  The blessing of God is upon His own Word, sovereignly applied in His own time.  For those few who may have been converted while just happening to attend a Graham crusade, instead of saying, “I was converted under the ministry of Billy Graham” (which is simply not true, for he had no true ministry), they should say, “I was converted to Christ when the Lord, in His sovereignty, worked in my heart while I just happened to be at a Graham crusade.”  In precisely the same manner, a man may say, “I was converted while in my garden shed”.  God is sovereign.

An Influential Roman Catholic Pushed Him onto the World Stage
Billy Graham’s 1949 crusade in Los Angeles pushed him into the forefront of international Arminian Evangelicalism.  But why?  Up until that time he was just one of many Arminian Baptist evangelists beating the sawdust trail across the U.S.  What was different this time?  Answer: William Randolph Hearst.
Hearst was a very influential Roman Catholic news mogul; and, doubtless on the orders of his priests, he sent a telegram to his news editors with the simple instruction: “Puff Graham.”  They dutifully carried out this instruction, and the increased media exposure, plus the invitations which poured in asking him to hold crusades in other places, turned Graham into a household name.[4]  It was not the blessing of the Lord which did it, but a Roman Catholic news mogul under orders!
His Brazen Promotion of Roman Catholicism
Early on in his career, Roman Catholic priests were warned by their superiors not to attend Billy Graham meetings.  But he soon started to change his tune towards Roman Catholics, and the more he did so, the more Roman Catholic priests began to speak approvingly of his crusades!  In fact, it became very evident that Rome had decided Billy Graham would be a very useful stooge to draw Protestants to Rome.  They calculated correctly.  He was an ideal choice, and he served them well for the rest of his long life.
Was Graham ever secretly and formally received into Rome as an agent of the Jesuits?  We have no solid evidence of this – but a lack of such evidence does not mean it did not happen.  It just means there is, as yet, no rock-solid proof.  What we do know, however, is that for centuries the Jesuits have had their own men in Protestant churches, behind Protestant pulpits, etc., pretending to be Protestants while all along promoting Romanism and slowly moving their flocks in Rome’s direction.[5]  For many decades a huge amount of circumstantial evidence built up, demonstrating that this was indeed what Billy Graham was doing.  He served the Vatican’s interests!  He was the greatest instrument for ecumenism, the Romeward movement among professing Evangelicals, during the twentieth century.  He was their tool.  Let us consider some of this evidence, in chronological order.  Please note that this is just a fraction of the evidence there is!

Always hovering approvingly in the background: a priest of Rome and Billy Graham
On 29 December 1955, he said that he would always tell his “converts” (those who “came forward” at his “altar calls”) to go to the church of their choice, whether Roman Catholic or Protestant!  He repeated this on 17 September 1956, in front of 1100 people, and again in 1960.[6]  And he kept his word on this matter, decade after decade.  Here is just one example:
At Graham’s “Mission ̓89″ in England, he was publicly welcomed by Rome’s cardinal, Basil Hume, and had private meetings with him and other Romish bishops.[7]  And of the 35000 people who “went forward” when he gave his “altar call”, 2100 were Roman Catholics – and these were referred by Graham to parish priests for “counselling”![8]
After Graham’s death, I received an email from a lady in France, just one of the many thousands who from personal experience knew that Graham did, indeed, send Roman Catholics back to the Papal religion.  She wrote: “I was a counsellor and follow-up worker at his 1986 crusade in Paris, and we had strict instructions that if someone had written ‘Catholic’ on the card they filled in after coming forward, we had to give their card to a Catholic church in their neighbourhood.  I found that absolutely tragic…. If, as you write, it was a deliberate ploy by the Roman Catholic cult, it worked.  Very sad and disappointing.  In fact, when I think about it, it reminds me of what Switzerland did during the Second World War, when it sent Jews fleeing the Nazi persecutions back to Germany!”[9]  Precisely.  But of course, although those poor Jews were sent to their physical deaths, what Graham did was infinitely worse, in that he was guilty of entrenching his “converts” in a religious system of spiritual death.
In 1963 he spoke admiringly of the pope of Rome, John XXIII,[10] saying, “I admired Pope John tremendously.  I felt he brought a new era to the world.  It is my hope that the cardinals elect a new pope who will follow the same line as John.  It would be a great tragedy if they chose a man who reacted against John, who re-erected the walls.”[11]  Yet John XXIII, apart from being the head of the greatest false religion on earth, was a Communist, the man who initiated the deceptive Second Vatican Council, and indeed one of the greatest deceivers of modern times![12]
At a breakfast meeting in 1963, Graham spoke of increasing co-operation between Protestants and Roman Catholics.  He spoke of how the Romish bishop of Sao Paulo, Brazil, stood beside him during his crusade there and “blessed” Graham’s “converts” as they came forward at the “altar call”!  And he added that he had five preaching engagements scheduled at Roman Catholic institutions in the United States.[13]
This man had no qualms about a representative of the religion of Antichrist “blessing” (cursing!) the poor dupes who responded to his “call”!  It is all too evident that he was a false preacher.
In 1964 the Romish cardinal of Boston, Richard J. Cushing, actually urged Roman Catholic youths and college students to attend the Graham crusade, saying: “I am 100% for the evangelist.”[14]  The only way a high-ranking cardinal of Rome could say such a thing was if Billy Graham was essentially a Roman Catholic himself – at least in doctrine and possibly even in fact.  But we will let the evidence continue to mount up.
In 1966 he said that he found himself “closer to Catholics than the radical Protestants.”[15]
Why was this?  Had he become a closet Papist?  We can hardly be blamed for asking!
In 1967 he received an honorary degree from the Roman Catholics at Belmont Abbey College in the USA.[16]  When the head priest conferred this degree on him, Graham jokingly said, “Now you can call me father.”[17]  Was he really joking?  Perhaps.  But this was just one of so many very pro-Papist statements that… one wonders.

“Now you can call me father”: a priest of Rome conferring an honorary degree on Graham
In 1970 in Washington, D.C., Graham preached; but he then invited well-known Romish bishop, Fulton J. Sheen, to participate in his crusade!  This man once made the statement: “Soon there will be only two powers in the world, Communism and Catholicism.  Then the Protestants can take their choice.”[18]  And Graham accepted such a man as a brother in Christ!

Graham with well-known Romish bishop, Fulton J. Sheen
In 1971 Italian Protestants invited him to Rome, on condition that he would not meet with Vatican officials or the pope.  But Graham said he would not permit any conditions to be placed on any campaign of his in Italy.[19]
Any true Christian would have been immediately willing to agree to such a condition!  In fact, it would go without saying.  Why did Italian Protestants even feel the need to lay down such a condition?  They obviously were rather doubtful about him, to say the least!
In 1972 Graham received the Roman Catholic International Franciscan Award for his contribution to “true ecumenism”, and for his “evangelism”![20]
When Roman Catholics present a man with an award for “evangelism”, who is he “evangelising” for?
In 1972, so utterly watered down and compromised was the “gospel” Graham preached, that the superior of the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome, priest Charles W. Dullea, stated: “Because he [Graham] is preaching basic Christianity, he does not enter into matters which today divide Christians… he is preaching basic Christianity, not Protestantism per se…. The Catholic will hear no slighting of his Church’s teaching authority, nor of papal or episcopal prerogatives, no word against the mass or sacraments or Catholic practices… the Catholic, in my opinion, will hear little, if anything, that he cannot agree with”.[21]
Other priests have spoken about Graham and his preaching along similar lines.  In 1990, for example, a priest in Canada, Bob Moran, said: “the Catholics in Montreal have no reason to worry about proselytism, in fact, they could afford to welcome the Graham initiative…. Graham is not interested in sheep-stealing.”[22]
It is all too evident that Graham was doing the pope’s bidding, and Papist priests had no fear of him or his message.  He was their greatest “Protestant” ally in the ecumenical movement, a “Protestant” preaching a message fully acceptable to Roman Catholic priests!  What does this tell us about Billy Graham?
In February 1978 Graham held a crusade in Las Vegas.  Almost 200 “Protestant” churches co-operated with him in this crusade, and Roman Catholic Charismatics were active in it as well, with some of them serving as counsellors and choir members!  Furthermore, Kenneth Forshee, a pastor with the Disciples of Christ – a Liberal branch of the Campbellite cult – served as the crusade chairman.[23]
In 1978 he preached in Poland, at the invitation of the Baptist Union of Poland and the Polish Ecumenical Council.  He was welcomed by the Roman Catholic institution in Poland with these words: “We are happy that you will preach in several cities in Catholic churches, where the overwhelming majority of listeners will be Catholics.”  Graham praised the Roman pope, John Paul I, and prayed for unity between Roman Catholics and Baptists.[24]
This was Billy Graham.  An ecumenical servant of Antichrist, not Christ.

In 1979 he said of the pope of Rome, John Paul II (who in addition to being the head of this monstrous, false religious system, was a Communist[25]), “I think the American people are looking for a leader, a moral and spiritual leader that believes something.  And the pope does…. Thank God, I’ve got somebody to quote now with some real authority.”[26]  One would think that a supposed “Evangelical” like Billy Graham would be content to quote the Lord Jesus Christ as His authority, for “never man spake like this man” (Jn.7:46), and none has greater authority than He; but Graham chose rather to let the Antichrist be his authority!  Are we really to believe that this man was a Baptist, and a Protestant?  A man who said he would quote the pope of Rome as his authority?
The answer is surely, by now, as plain as day.  And yet the evidence just continued to stack up.
Before John Paul II visited the United States in 1979, Graham said his visit could start a spiritual revival.  He went on, “John Paul II has become the moral leader of the world. My prayers and the prayers of countless other Protestants will be with him as he makes his journey.”  And after the papal visit, Graham called John Paul II a statesman, pastor and evangelist, who was “pointing people to Christ”.[27]
In 1980 Graham said: “Pope John Paul II has emerged as the greatest religious leader of the modern world, and one of the greatest moral and spiritual leaders of this century”.  Graham’s ecumenism, compromise, heresies, etc., are all well documented.[28]  And yet millions of gullible Protestants flocked to hear him preach, and exalted him as the world’s greatest evangelist!  He was to ecumenical, Arminian “Protestantism” what John Paul II was to Romanism.  In many circles he was the Protestant equivalent of the pope.  The truth, however, is that Graham was as spiritually blind as any Roman Catholic, and very much in favour of Romanism, as his words and deeds proved conclusively.
Graham met the pope of Rome in the Vatican itself, in a private audience on 11 January 1990.  They discussed the status of “Christianity” in the world.[29]

Relaxed and jovial with each other: Graham and the Roman pope, John Paul II
In 1991, 250 000 people attended the Graham crusade in New York’s Central Park.  Special guests were representatives of the National Council of Churches and several mainline denominations.  New York’s Romish archbishop, O’Connor, the bishop of Brooklyn and the archbishop of Newark strongly endorsed the crusade.[30]
When John Paul II died in 2005, Billy Graham heaped praise upon his head:
“Pope John Paul II was unquestionably the most influential voice for morality and peace in the world during the last 100 years.  His extraordinary gifts, his strong Catholic faith, and his experience of human tyranny and suffering in his native Poland all shaped him, and yet he was respected by men and women from every conceivable background across the world.  He was truly one of those rare individuals whose legacy will endure long after he has gone.”  And he added:  “His courage and perseverance in the face of advancing age and illness were an inspiration to millions – including me.”[31]
This is extraordinary praise for a pope of Rome from a supposed Baptist!  His language could not have been plainer.  He could not have praised the pope more if he had been a Romish cardinal!
Graham also said: “It was my privilege to meet with him [John Paul II] at the Vatican on various occasions, and I will always remember his personal warmth to me and his deep interest in our ministry.  In his own way, he saw himself as an evangelist”.[32]
Graham was asked to write the foreword to Life magazine’s special commemorative edition of 130 pages dedicated to John Paul II after his death.  He wrote: “When future historians look back on the most influential personalities of the 20th century, the name of Pope John Paul II will unquestionably loom large in their accounts.  Few individuals have had a greater impact – not just religiously but socially and morally – on the modern world.  He will stand as the most influential moral voice of our time.”[33]
Many years ago, when I preached the series of messages entitled Billy Graham: Serving the Papal Antichrist,[34] I pointed out that John Paul II once said that he and Graham were “brothers.” On 2 April 2005, Graham was interviewed by talk show host Larry King.  King asked: “Did he [John Paul II] tell you once that you and he were brothers?”  And Graham replied: “That’s correct.  He certainly did.  He held my hand the first time that I met him…. when he was elevated to the papacy, I was preaching in his cathedral in Krakow that very day.  And we had thousands of people in the streets.  And watching the television today of Krakow has brought back many memories.”
If any true minister of the Gospel was referred to, by the Antichrist, as his “brother”, he would wonder what he had done, what he had preached or failed to preach, how he had compromised and sinned, to bring such a calamity upon him!
If the one the Bible identifies as the Antichrist calls you his brother, then you know you are preaching a false “gospel” – Rome’s false “gospel”.
In the interview with Larry King in 2005, King asked him, “There is no question in your mind that he is with God now?”  And Graham replied: “Oh, no.  There may be a question about my own, but I don’t think Cardinal Wojtyla, or the Pope – I think he’s with the Lord, because he believed.  He believed in the cross.  That was his focus throughout his ministry, the cross, no matter if you were talking to him from personal issue or an ethical problem, he felt that there was the answer to all of our problems, the cross and the resurrection.  And he was a strong believer.”[35]
The Bible, however, calls every pope of Rome “the man of sin and son of perdition”, in 2 Thess.2:3,4.  Like Judas, also called “the son of perdition” in Scripture, the popes go to hell when they die, not heaven, for they are not Christians – each and every pope is the Antichrist foretold in God’s Word!
And yes, John Paul II “believed in the cross”; but what cross?  He believed, not in the atoning death of Christ on the cross for all His elect, but in the Roman Catholic cross!  He believed in the crucifix, in the image on the crucifix, and in praying to that image!
King said to Graham: “You said that he [John Paul II] was an evangelist.”  And Graham replied: “He was, indeed.  He traveled throughout the world to bring his Christian message to the world.  And we see tonight the outpouring from the world that he touched.  And I think he touched almost everybody in the whole world.”  He added: “He suffered as much as anybody you could ever imagine…. And through it all, he taught us how to suffer.  And I think in recent days he’s taught us how to die.”
Could the most fanatically devoted priest of Rome have used more adulatory language?

His Roman Catholic Doctrines
No, the above heading is not a misprint.  Billy Graham actually believed a number of outright Roman Catholic doctrines!
Graham, although supposedly a Baptist, actually held to the Roman Catholic heresy of baptismal regeneration!  As far back as 1961 he said: “I still have some personal problems in the matter of infant baptism, but all my children with the exception of the youngest were baptized as infants.  I do believe that something happens at the baptism of the infant, particularly if the parents are Christians…. I believe that a miracle can happen in these children so that they are regenerated, that is, made Christian through infant baptism.” (emphasis added)[36].  Was this a Baptist talking?  Or – a Roman Catholic?
In 1973, in his “Key ̓73″ crusade, Graham recommended Roman Catholic literature, especially a biography of the pope which contained hundreds of pages of Roman Catholic doctrine.  This did not trouble Graham, who called it “a classic in devotion.”  And in the same year he also participated in a Roman Catholic mass! – the central blasphemy of Rome.[37]  In fact, on 21 October 1973 he said that he preached in a Roman Catholic cathedral, and he said of the blasphemous sacrament of the mass that it “was a very beautiful thing and certainly straight and clear in the gospel I believe.”[38]
Think about this!  And ask: if this man believed that the abomination of the popish mass was part of the true Gospel, then was he a Protestant…or a closet Papist?
In 1976 he said: “There’s not as much difference between me and Catholics theologically as there is between me and some Protestants theologically.”[39]  He is on record as saying: “I’ve found that my beliefs are essentially the same as those of orthodox Roman Catholics.”[40]  He stated that he and the Vatican were in complete harmony regarding their beliefs.[41]
Well, then, what was he?  Protestant or Papist?  No true Protestant would ever say such things.
In the February 2000 edition of Decision magazine, the official publication of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Graham wrote: “Peter became a great evangelist and a great writer, and it was on Peter that Christ built His Church.”[42]  Read that again!  It is outright Roman Catholic doctrine!  Only Rome says the Church was built on Peter. It is a devilish lie, for it is built on Christ alone.
Was Billy Graham a closet Roman Catholic?  The evidence points strongly in that direction!
In the 2005 interview with Larry King, Graham actually admitted that he was not sure of his own salvation, but he was sure of John Paul II’s salvation![43]  King asked him, “There is no question in your mind that he is with God now?”  And Graham replied: “Oh, no. And he was a strong believer.”[44]
Graham actually said of himself, “There may be a question about my own [salvation], but… I think he’s with the Lord, because he believed.”  Billy Graham, uncertain about his own salvation?  This man who preached to millions the world over, urging them, in true Arminian fashion, to “decide for Christ” – this man was not even sure of his own salvation?  That statement speaks volumes about this “Protestant” who deceived millions with a false “gospel.”  And – it is true Roman Catholic doctrine!  For no Papist can ever be sure of his salvation, according to the teaching of Rome.
His Promotion of Ecumenism, Interfaith and Liberalism
Although he was officially a Baptist, Graham was extremely popular, more so than any other preacher ever, among members of virtually all denominations – and his popularity even extended to many people of other religions as well!
Yet what does the Bible say?  “Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets” (Lk. 6:26); “The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord…. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?” (Matt. 10:24,25); “Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach” (Heb. 13:13).
When he first began, he would not permit doctrinal Liberals onto his local sponsoring committees.  But as time passed this stance changed, until eventually he would not hold a crusade in any city which could not assure him of wide denominational support, and Liberals most certainly did sit on the committees.  Furthermore, those who “came forward” during his “altar calls” were referred back to Liberal “churches”.[45]
In early 1951 Graham was insisting that leading Modernists be put on his sponsoring committee.  In fact, he even cancelled plans for his New York City crusade in 1951 because Fundamentalist preachers refused to have Modernists on the committee.  He wrote that all the churches had to sponsor him before he would come.  And yet, with a lie in his mouth to deceive, he wrote in May 1951, “I have never been, nor will I ever be, in favour of a Modernist being on the committee or in any way having working fellowship in this meeting”![46]
Not only did Graham refer “converts” from his crusades back to their Roman Catholic “churches” if they had previously been Romanists, but he did the same with Liberals/Modernists, and Jews!  As far back as 1957 he said, “penitents are referred to either Protestant, Catholic or Jewish clergymen”![47]
Early on in his career, he was asked what the diabolically evil World Council of Churches (WCC) would do at its forthcoming meeting, and he replied, “Elect the Antichrist as president.”  But how his tune changed as the years went by!  In 1960 he actually participated in a high-level conference of the World Council of Churches.  He was a speaker at its Conference on Evangelism.[48]
In 1962 in his crusade in Montevideo, Uruguay, he asked Emilio Castro to lead in prayer and called him “My great friend.”  Yet Emilio Castro, a Methodist pastor in Uruguay, was a Liberal who believed that men may indeed have evolved from apes; who claimed that the god of Buddhism was the same as the God of Christians; and who defended abortion!  This did not concern Graham – he actually gave 40% of the “referral cards” handed in at the campaign to Castro for follow-up.  This amounted to over 400 people![49]
Over 400 people, sent into the clutches of this wolf in sheep’s clothing!
In 1966 he spoke to the WCC, and said there was a new spirit of co-operation in the world which he believed could be attributed to the ecumenical movement.  In the same year he also addressed the general assembly of the Liberal, Gospel-denying National Council of Churches in the USA, which was affiliated to the WCC.[50]

From thinking it would “elect the Antichrist”, to praising it as a Christian organisation: quite a leap indeed.
In a booklet he wrote in 1970, Graham said that today’s great theologians were men such as Rudolph Bultmann, Karl Barth, Emil Brunner, Reinhold Niebuhr, Paul Tillich, and Carl Henry.  Yet these men were outright Liberals!  For example, Brunner and Barth were Modernists, and Niebuhr was a Socialist and Communist supporter.[51]
By 1974, when asked at a press conference about his relationship with the WCC, he replied: “As far as I know, we have nothing but the warmest relationships with the World Council of Churches.”[52]
E. Stanley Jones was a famous Methodist Liberal heretic, a man who supported the World Council of Churches, and who denied the biblical doctrines of the virgin birth, the deity of Christ, the Trinity, and the verbal inspiration of Scripture.  And yet Billy Graham called Jones, in public, “my good friend and trusted advisor.”[53]
Graham said of arch-heretic Norman Vincent Peale: “I know of no one who has done more good for the cause of the Kingdom of God and the Gospel of Christ than Ruth and Norman Vincent Peale.”  Graham also once allowed Peale to give the benediction at one of his rallies, and sent 400 new “converts” to Peale’s church.  And yet Norman Vincent Peale advocated “Christian psychology”, New Age and Occult teachings such as visualisation, pantheism, positive confession, etc.; and is on record as having said: “It is not necessary to be born again. You have your way to God, I have mine.  I found eternal peace in a Shinto shrine.”[54]
Peale spent his “ministry” serving the kingdom of Satan, yet Graham said he served the kingdom of God more than anyone he knew!
Graham also praised another arch-heretic, Robert Schuller, who denied the need to recognise one’s sin or repent, and exalted the self.  Graham called Schuller “a great man of God, whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop and loose.”[55]
His Liberal Doctrines
When asked about Graham’s position on the biblical doctrine of the blood of Christ, W.H. Martindale of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association said in a letter in 1968: “Mr Graham believes we are saved through the blood of Christ, however, this aspect of Christian doctrine he does not emphasize in his messages.  This is the duty and prerogative of pastors.”[56]  Reader, pay heed to this heresy!  It is deadly.  If Graham was a true evangelist, he would certainly emphasise this aspect of true doctrine, because it is such an integral part of the true Gospel!
Graham actually taught the heresy of Universalism: that men can be saved apart from the Name of Christ.[57]  He believed that people could be saved despite their ignorance of the Gospel or of the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ![58]
He also refused to “judge” (as he put it) whether people of other religions were going to hell.[59]  In fact, on BBC TV he said he did not believe there would be any flame in hell.[60]  He is on record as saying: “I used to believe that pagans in far off countries were lost – going to hell – if they did not have the Gospel of Christ preached to them.  I no longer believe that.”  “I believe that there are other ways of recognising the existence of God – through nature, for instance – and plenty of opportunities therefore, of saying ‘yes’ to God.”[61]
And yet his son, Franklin Graham, speaking at his father’s funeral, said that Billy Graham believed in hell.[62]  Well, he may have believed in some kind of hell – but it was not the hell described in the Bible!  It was Graham’s own view of it, which was false.
His Support of Communism
In the early years of his “ministry” Graham was prepared to call Communists “disciples of Lucifer”; and indeed he once said, “Today, Communism is the medium through which [Satan] operates to dupe, deceive and delude that large segment of society which has chosen to believe a lie… Today millions are embracing the false religion of Communism.”
But all this changed very soon!  Let us see the evidence:
In July 1953, he said that he did not know of any Communist sympathisers in the ranks of the “clergy”, and that this matter was “greatly exaggerated.”  Yet there was solid, documented evidence of Communist infiltration into churches, theological schools and Christian publishing houses, available at the time![63]
He constantly gave respectability to the Communist-controlled Baptists of the USSR.  He visited Moscow in June 1959 as a guest of Moscow’s only officially recognised Baptist “Church” – meaning it was State-controlled and pastored by KGB agents.[64]
In 1960, in a campaign in West Berlin, Graham read aloud a message of blessing on his work from Alexander Karev, head of the Evangelical Baptist Union in the USSR – who was a member of the Soviet secret police and a leader in the Communist revolution of 1917![65]
Graham also developed a close friendship with Martin Luther King Jr., a radical Communist revolutionary.  King prayed at some Graham crusades.  When Graham heard of King’s assassination, he recalled: “I was almost in a state of shock.  Not only was I losing a friend… but America was losing a social leader and a prophet, and I felt his death would be one of the greatest tragedies in our history.”[66]  Not a word about King’s Communism, his radicalism, etc.!  King was not a prophet of the Lord in any sense.  He was a false prophet, a false teacher and preacher, a liar and a womaniser.
In 1970, Graham made the statement that he refused to discuss Communism.  “For years I have not spoken about that,” he said.  “I cannot go around the world and say who is right and who is not right.”[67]
One would think it pretty obvious that an ideology responsible for the deaths of over a hundred million people in the twentieth century was “not right” – to say the very least!
In 1973 Graham was quoted as having said: “Mao Tse-Tung’s eight precepts are basically the same as the Ten Commandments.  In fact, if we can’t have the Ten Commandments read in our schools, I’ll settle for Mao’s precepts.”[68]  What an absolutely shocking statement!
Graham’s office denied that he made the statement, saying the reporter (working for an English newspaper in Tokyo) did not speak good English.  However, the reporter was actually a native-born American, and she insisted she quoted him accurately.
In 1977 he was invited to preach in Hungary, and the invitation was approved by the Communist government!  He was greeted on arrival by the Hungarian government protocol officer.  While there he never criticised Communism.[69]   And after his visit he said he “regretted his former tendency to equate Christianity with the American way of life and Communism with the work of the devil.”[70]
Certainly he was very wrong to equate Christianity with the American way of life.  But he was right to say (in his early years) that Communism was of the devil.  Tragically, he changed his tune and lied about Communism for years.
After he visited Moscow in 1982 to discuss peace and nuclear disarmament at a conference run by the KGB-controlled Russian Orthodox religious body, he famously told reporters that he found more religious freedom in the Soviet Union than he expected, and said, “I saw no evidence of religious repression in Russia.”[71]  He also said “there are millions of people in the Soviet Union that go to church on Sunday and practice their religious faith”[72] – even as large numbers of Baptist pastors were rotting in Soviet prisons and concentration camps!
As Graham was preaching in Moscow’s State-controlled Baptist “church” building, a young woman unfurled a banner which read, in English: “We have more than 150 prisoners for the work of the Gospel.”  Graham claimed that although he saw it, he did not have a chance to read it.  He also said while in the Soviet Union that he had “no time” to meet with unofficial religious groups in Moscow – in other words, with the unregistered churches.  Yet in truth he had plenty of spare time while there![73]
In fact, the documented, systematic persecution of Christians in the USSR was so well known that demonstrators held up signs outside the Billy Graham Center at Wheaton College, which read: “Billy Graham has been duped by the Soviets”, and, “Russian Baptists tortured as Graham praises the torturers.”[74]  Graham claimed he had been misquoted.  But then again, he would.  He served as a highly influential PR man for the Soviet system.  How they must have been laughing as he claimed there was religious freedom in the Soviet Union!  And pastors continued to languish in Soviet prisons, and to be tortured and killed.

His Worldliness
In 1960 Graham was asked if he saw anything positive among the movements of young people at the time, and he replied, “Yes, I do…. When [the hippies] talk about tune in, and turn on, and drop out, this is almost Biblical language.”  In December 1969 he told the press that he often attended “love-ins” and rock music festivals, disguising himself with a beard.  He said he found it “refreshing” to do so.  And addressing a rock festival, he said, “This is the way Jesus did it.  He went to where the people were.”  And: “I think this is a generation of tremendous young people. Many of them are deeply religious… you can find it in some of the music, if you listen hard enough.”[75]
If you listen hard enough?  Yes, there were religious concepts in Rock music: Hinduism, New Age, Transcendental Meditation, occultism.  These are the things which made Graham think the youth were “tremendous”?
As for going to where the people were, the Lord Jesus did – but not in disguise, and not to participate in sinful activities!
When Billy Graham held a crusade in Las Vegas in 1978, this is how it was reported by the far-from-Evangelical, actually New-Evangelical magazine, Christianity Today (which had very close ties to Billy Graham himself): “The evangelist won special place in the hearts of many Las Vegans.  ‘I did not come here to condemn Las Vegas,’ Graham announced at the onset of the meetings.  ‘I came here to preach the Gospel.’  The audience appreciatively applauded his statement.”[76]  Of course they did!
During his crusade in the city, Graham avoided preaching firmly against gambling, saying instead that the Bible is rather silent about it, although he said he himself did not gamble because of the personal example aspect of it.  And incredibly, Vegas gamblers acted as “counsellors” in the crusade!  This means they were among those who dealt with the people who “came forward” at the Graham “altar calls”.  And they even justified the fact that although they claimed to be “Christians”, they continued to work as card dealers, etc., at Vegas casinos!  One of them actually said, “Scores of employees scattered in casinos around Las Vegas are Christians.  For most of them, the ‘gaming industry’ is just another job, and they see no moral conflict.  Most, however, agree that they would never visit a casino as a customer.”[77]
According to William Martin, a sociologist who spent five years researching a biography of Graham, Graham was able to flip through Playboy magazine without embarrassment.[78]
Praised by False Protestant Leaders
John Piper had this to say after Graham’s death: “This morning I have been singing his songs…. The flood of emotion they awaken, after a lifetime of profound associations, is a sweet sorrow…. While only God can rightly assess the ripple effect of a person’s life in all the ways it has influence, my own judgment would be that Billy Graham’s greatest impact is the eternal difference he made in leading countless persons, from all over the world, out of destruction into everlasting joy and love.  This was his primary mission.”[79]
Yet Piper claims to be a believer in the doctrines of sovereign grace – which Graham never preached, and in fact opposed, for he was Arminian.  Piper, like Graham himself was, is a false minister.  He preaches the errors of “New Calvinism”, has invited Rick Warren to preach (see below),[80] and actually prayed for God to anoint the pope of Rome![81]
Benny Hinn, a Charismatic deceiver and fraud of the first magnitude, one of the greatest heretics of modern times and a prosperity-preaching, money-grubbing charlatan, claimed that in 1989 he gave a “prophecy”, a direct message from God (these Charismatics always make this claim to be able to give such messages, but they are all fraudulent), stating that the deaths of Oral Roberts and Billy Graham would bring about a great revival.  Roberts died in 2009 and now, with Graham’s death, Hinn stated that the revival has been set in motion.  Hinn said: “What we are gonna see is a revival.  Three things are going to happen, there’s no doubt in my heart and mind because it’s in the Bible…. Number one, evangelism.  What was the first thing that happened in the book of Acts?  People saved.  The second thing, miracles, people healed.  But the third thing was what? Prosperity…. Here we are in this season.  We’re gonna see amazing things happen in those areas of our lives and get ready for your children to be saved in a big way, your families to be saved in a big way, loved ones respond to the Lord in a big way.”[82]
This is revival according to the false prophet and deceiver, Benny Hinn, but it is not biblical revival.  Miracles and prosperity were never, ever a part of any true revival in Church history since the apostolic age.  This is a devilish lie.
He also claimed that Billy Graham’s death would be the sign for the Church to come out of hiding.[83]  But considering that Hinn’s own “church”, just like “megachurches” everywhere, is massive, tens of thousands strong, exactly where is the “Church” hiding, if this kind of “church” is the true one (which Hinn obviously believes it is)?
Not surprisingly, after Graham’s death, religious deceiver Rick Warren also weighed in with his penny’s worth.  This man, pastor of Saddleback Church in California, one of the world’s largest “megachurches”, and the man responsible for the “Purpose-Driven Life” heresy, made the following comments:
“[Graham] put Catholics and Protestants, Calvinists and Charismatics, Fundamentalists and Evangelicals, Liberals and Conservatives, all on the platform together.  He was criticized for it, but he knew that God blesses unity and harmony.”[84]  Warren calls this unity and harmony, as did Graham – but it is the devil’s unity, an attempt to unite light and darkness, truth and error, Christianity and false religion!  It is a direct denial of 2 Cor. 6:14-18.  The men who joined Graham on his platforms, united together, were certainly not true Christians – no, not even the Conservatives or Evangelicals or Fundamentalists or Calvinists or Protestants among them!  If such men could join hands with Romanists, Liberals, Charismatics, etc., and claim they were all preaching the one true Gospel, then they were blind leaders of the blind (Matt. 15:14).  They were as far from true Christian ministers as one could be.
Billy Graham was very fond of Rick Warren – which speaks volumes about the utter lack of true spiritual discernment in Graham.  He praised Warren, encouraged him to publish The Purpose Driven Life, and when Warren prayed at the inauguration of presidents Bush and Obama (which incidentally speaks volumes about Warren!), Graham gave him advice and even gave him the hat he himself wore when he had prayed at various presidential inaugurations in the past! His note to Warren when he mailed the hat to him said: “Rick, it’s your time now.  I believe in you!  Wear the hat!  Love, Billy.”[85]  Clearly, the two men were cut from the same cloth.  But Graham was not a servant of Christ, and nor is Warren.
Praised by Roman Catholic Leaders
Roman Catholic cardinal, Timothy Dolan, of New York, released this statement after Graham’s death:
“As anyone growing up in the 1950s and 1960s can tell you, it was hard not to notice and be impressed by the Reverend Billy Graham.  There was no question that the Dolans were a Catholic family, firm in our faith, but in our household there was always respect and admiration for Billy Graham and the work he was doing to bring people to God…. As an historian, my admiration for him only grew as I studied our nation’s religious past, and came to appreciate even more the tremendous role he played in the American evangelical movement.  May the Lord that Billy Graham loved so passionately now grant him eternal rest.”[86]
Why would a high-ranking Romish cardinal care about the Evangelical movement?  He would hate it!  Therefore, the only conclusion we can reach is that he knew Graham was serving Rome, while merely professing to be Evangelical.
Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, had this to say: “Growing up Catholic in New York in the 1950s, the Catholic we most identified with was Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, the first televangelist.  The Protestant we most clearly revered was Rev. Billy Graham.  In both cases, they had no rival.  For Catholics, Graham was more than just the titular head of the Protestant community, he was a man who inspired us.  He was a man of prayer, and his deep spirituality was contagious.  Moreover, his ecumenical efforts were legion…. I have one fond remembrance of him.  In the late 1990s, he contacted me about some cruel story that had circulated about him – it made him out to be an anti-Catholic bigot.  The story was completely bogus…. Rev. Billy Graham will be missed.  I am happy that he is with our Lord.”[87]
Strange: not even all Roman Catholics go to heaven immediately at death, according to Roman Catholic doctrine; in fact, the vast majority of them first have to spend an unknown period of time in a mythical place called purgatory.  Only Rome’s “saints” go immediately to heaven when they die, according to Romish teaching.  If Billy Graham is in heaven already according to this Papist, was he then a “saint” in the Papist sense?
When the enemies of Christ and His Gospel praise a man, that man is no Christian!

His Worldly Accolades
Loved by the world, Graham picked up numerous honorary doctorates and awards throughout his long life:[88]
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation Freedom Award, for contributions to the cause of freedom;
The Congressional Gold Medal;
The Templeton Foundation Prize for Progress in Religion;
The Big Brother Award, for his work on behalf of the welfare of children;
The Speaker of the Year Award in 1964;
Honorary Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire, for his international contribution to civic and religious life over a period of 60 years;
Cited by the George Washington Carver Memorial Institute for his contributions to race relations;
Recognised by the Jewish Anti-Defamation League of the B’nai B’rith, and the National Conference of Christians and Jews for his efforts to foster a better understanding among all religions;
Regularly listed by the Gallup organisation as one of the “Ten Most Admired Men in the World”.
What does the Bible say?  “Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets” (Lk. 6:26); and, “Yea, all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution” (2 Tim. 3:12).
Spiritual Advisor to Presidents and Other Politicians
One can know a lot about a man by the company he keeps.  Graham, a registered Democrat, was the “spiritual advisor” to eleven American presidents, as well as a great many other political and civic leaders.
But did his “advice” make any difference to how those presidents behaved?  Even assuming it was biblical advice, no – not at all!  But of course, any advice he gave was anything but biblical.
Graham regularly visited former President Richard Nixon when he was in office, advising him and leading private services there.  Nixon offered Graham the post of ambassador to Israel, but Graham declined.  When Nixon’s profanity became public via the White House tapes in the Watergate affair, Graham admitted, “I might have exaggerated [Nixon’s] spirituality in my own mind.”[89]  Surprise, surprise.

Billy Graham and Richard Nixon
Former president, George H.W. Bush, invited Graham to hold a series of Bible studies at the Bush family home.[90]  When Graham died, Bush said: “Billy Graham was America’s pastor.”[91]  Actually, a pastor is a shepherd over a church.  A nation cannot have a pastor, because a nation does not equate with a local church.  This reveals the so-typical confusion in peoples’ minds between Church and State, even in a country like America where the two are supposed to be separate.
Bush went on: “I think Billy touched the hearts of not only Christians, but people of all faiths, because he was such a good man.  I was privileged to have him as a personal friend…. He was a mentor to several of my children…. We will miss our good friend forever.”[92]  Once again a comment about Graham’s contribution to the diabolical interfaith movement.  And again, although he was a personal friend and mentor to the Bush family, exactly what good did this do to them?  Nothing, as the evidence amply reveals.  The story of the Bush family is not the story of a Christian family, but of a powerful, one-world-supporting, Establishment family.
Former president, George W. Bush, recalled in an interview years ago that at a time when he was a cynic and a heavy drinker, with many questions about faith, Graham had an “enormous influence” on his life, and helped him to “understand the redemptive power of a risen Lord.”  In a statement after Graham’s death, Bush said: “A great man, a humble servant, and a shepherd to millions has passed on.  Billy Graham was a consequential leader.  He had a powerful, captivating presence and a keen mind.  He was full of kindness and grace.  His love for Christ and his gentle soul helped open hearts to the Word, including mine.  Laura and I are thankful for the life of Billy Graham”.[93]
Is Bush truly converted?  We are to judge according to fruit (actions; conduct); and his actions prove otherwise.  He is typical of the vast numbers of Graham’s “converts”: no true change of life, no fruit giving evidence of true saving faith (2 Cor. 5:17).
What about the sleazy, criminal former president, Bill Clinton and his equally sleazy and criminal wife Hillary?   “Hillary and I are saddened by the passing of our friend Billy Graham, one of the most important religious leaders in American history.  His powerful words and the conviction they carried touched countless hearts and minds.  I will never forget the first time I saw him, 60 years ago in Little Rock, during the school integration struggle.  He filled a football stadium with a fully integrated audience, reminding them that we all come before God as equals, both in our imperfection and our absolute claim to amazing grace.  Later as Governor, in the White House, and afterward, I saw him live that faithfully in the constant kindness, encouragement, and counsel he extended to Hillary and me.  Billy has finished his long good race, leaving our world a better place and claiming his place in glory.”[94]
Oh, Clinton can sure spin a good tale.  He called Graham the friend of Hillary and himself, and said Graham was his counsellor (astounding, is it not, how all these presidents called him their friend and advisor, whether Republican or Democrat, supposed “Conservative” or outright Liberal!).  Yet the wicked lifestyles of the Clintons show that they paid absolutely no heed to his “advice” – assuming his advice was even remotely biblical, which his track record shows it simply could not have been!  And note how Clinton used biblical phraseology: “finishing the race”.  Clinton knows nothing of the grace of God.  Note how he spoke of “our absolute claim to amazing grace” and “claiming his place in glory.”  This is not Bible truth.  It is Arminian works-salvation.

Close: Graham and Bill Clinton
Billy Graham praised Bill and Hillary Clinton, and actually endorsed Hillary running for president![95]  He also attacked critics of Bill Clinton and called for newspapers to support him.  Speaking at a luncheon for 500 editors, Graham said Clinton’s personal life and character were “irrelevant”, and also said that he had given Clinton his support when Gennifer Flowers went public about her affair with him.  Graham said he called Clinton and said, “This will pass,” and not to worry![96]  No wonder Clinton spoke so highly of him when he passed away!  A supposed Gospel minister, dismissing Clinton’s philandering ways and telling him not to be concerned!

At the luncheon, Graham refused to comment on Clinton’s advocacy of sodomy and abortion.  But he insisted that Clinton (wait for it) was – a true man of God!  Saying he had been close friends with Clinton for many years, he added, “I believe Bill has gone to his knees many times and asked God to help him.”[97]
No wonder the editors praised Graham for being broad-minded and tolerant!  He supported a worldly, foul-mouthed, womanising, New-World-Order-supporting, evil man whose governorship of Arkansas coined a new phrase, “Arkancide”.

Friends with them all: George Bush, Bill Clinton, Billy Graham, Franklin Graham (son), Jimmy Carter
What about the diabolically evil former president, Barack Obama?  Naturally, he weighed in as well, saying: “Billy Graham was a humble servant who prayed for so many – and who, with wisdom and grace, gave hope and guidance to generations of Americans.”[98]  Note the utter lack of reference as to precisely who Graham was a servant of, and no reference whatsoever to the Gospel – something Obama is utterly ignorant of.
Graham received President Obama at his own home in 2010, and prayed for him, his family and his administration.[99]  The worst president in American history, whose presidency was a greater disaster for America than even that of the crude womaniser, Clinton!

Cosy: Graham and Barack Obama
President Donald Trump’s comment was: “The GREAT Billy Graham is dead.  There was nobody like him!  He will be missed by Christians and all religions.  A very special man.”[100]
A statement like this shows Trump’s own spiritual ignorance.
Vice-President Mike Pence said the following after Graham’s death: “Billy Graham’s ministry for the gospel of Jesus Christ and his matchless voice changed the lives of millions.  We mourn his passing, but I know with absolute certainty that today he heard those words, ‘well done good and faithful servant.’  Thank you Billy Graham.  God bless you.”[101]
Pence was raised a Roman Catholic, but has since claimed to be an “Evangelical Catholic”, or just an “Evangelical”.  One thing is clear: for all his conservative ways, his words and actions have revealed that he is not a true Christian.  But like politicians everywhere, he knows how to say the right things to attract voters.  Graham’s death gave him (and Trump) just such an opportunity.  And note how Pence “knows with absolute certainty” that Graham was received into heaven, having heard Christ’s welcome.  On what would he base such certainty?  On no biblical evidence whatsoever.
And then there was this comment from Mitt Romney, former Massachusetts Governor and a Republican presidential nominee: “Billy Graham lifted eyes toward heaven and instilled heaven’s values in hearts.  The world mourns this man of character, this man of God.”[102]  But Romney is a Mormon!  A member of one of the largest cults in the world, a cult which believes that its god was once a man and that men may become gods.  And yet he called Graham “a man of God”!  When a Mormon praises an “Evangelical”, we know the biblical lines of separation have been completely blurred!
But here’s why Romney could praise Graham so highly: when Romney ran for president, Graham’s organisation removed Mormonism from its list of cults![103]
Conclusion
What was Billy Graham?
He was, at the very least, a deceived man, and a false preacher of a false gospel.  But there is more to the Billy Graham story, as shown above: a sinister aspect, the evidence pointing to him being a deliberate, but clandestine, servant of the Papal Antichrist.  Was he a Jesuit agent, or merely a tool in the hands of the Jesuits?  Their tool he most certainly was, and a willing one at that who knew what he was doing for Rome – all the evidence given in this article, and much more besides, proves this beyond all shadow of doubt.  But whether or not he was a Jesuit himself, acting under orders and pretending to be a Baptist minister, we do not know at this time, and we may never know.  Either way, however, he did more to promote the false “gospel” of Roman Catholicism than any other “Evangelical” has ever done; and he promoted so many other false doctrines, sinful activities, etc., that no true Christian should ever, in any sense, hold him up as having been a great man of God – for this he most definitely was not.  He served Antichrist, not Christ.  And he did so knowingly, deliberately, and without any conscience about it.
