we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags(Isaiah 64: 6)
It is also written that :
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his

in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the
world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on

not is condemned already, because he hath not
believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the
condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather
than light, because their deeds were evil.( John 3:16-19)
It is further written that :

KAMPALA - With the annual
Uganda Martyrs’ celebrations just under two weeks away, the first group
of pilgrims from St. Kaggwa Parish in Bushenyi district has arrived at
the shrine in Namugongo after walking 283 kilometres.
With the eldest walker aged 89 and the youngest 23, the group of 14 Christians completed a 15-day trek on Thursday.
They started their pilgrimage on May 7 at 8pm local time and throughout
their journey, they would only take a break late in the night at various
parishes, according to their leader.
Led by 89-year-old Belnaldo Tibyangye, they entered the gates of
Namugongo a few minutes before noon amid drumming and singing of hymns.
Even after the exhausting days on the road, the pilgrims smiled
gleefully, with basic luggage on their backs, as they reached their
destination.
Held every June 3 at the Uganda Martyrs' Shrine, Namugongo, the Uganda
Martyrs' Day celebrations always attract hundreds of thousands of
Christians from near and afar in memory of the young Catholic and
Anglican martyrs who were killed on the orders of Kabaka Mwanga of
Buganda for their allegiance to their faith.
‘Journey was good’
This year’s first arrivals were welcomed warmly by Fr. Joseph Mukasa
Muwonge, the promoter of the devotion to the Uganda martyrs, Kampala
Diocese, who then ushered them into the church where the pilgrims
immediately went on their knees and began praying.
The elderly Tinyangye, a father of 16, said their journey was good save for one day of rain.
“There were no challenges on the way except one day when we were hit by
rain. Otherwise the journey was good. We always met good Samaritans that
gave us drinking water or money to buy food on the way,” said the group
leader.
Another walker, 56-year-old Hellen Kamasanyu said she has been sick with
malaria and she hopes by the time she returns home, God will have
healed her.
Maria Angelica Katibesigwa, 81, also part of the first group, said she
same to pray for her children so that they have successful marriages.
This time round, the celebrations will be led by Lira diocese and the
main celebrant will be the bishop of Lira diocese, Bishop Joseph
Frazelli.

Security matters
Meanwhile, unlike in the past, the police have gazetted car parking
spots in a move aimed at decongesting the venue and easing traffic flow.
The head of police operations, Felix Kaweesi told Journalists at the
Police headquarters in Naguru that no motorist will be allowed to park
at the roadside along the Kyaliwajjala- Namugongo-Sonde stretch.
Four gazetted parking lots have been secured and will be guarded by
police. They include; Namboole national stadium, Sonde road, green hill
(Buwate road) and the Northern by-pass.
According to Kaweesi, the spots have a 500-plus vehicle parking capacity.
The presence of these spots means that on that day, pilgrims will park
their vehicles and walk to the Catholic and protestant shrines or use
specific buses that police will vet and allow to transport passengers at
a negotiated fee.
Kaweesi said the move was aimed at enabling security agencies to effectively prepare for the safety of pilgrims.
The Martyrs Day being a high value target for terrorist groups because
of its crowds, security agencies will deploy heavily to ensure safety
and defuse any attempt of terror, said the police boss.
Other security facilities including improved lighting system, police
mobile communication and surveillance vans fitted with long range visual
cameras, mobile police cells to detain any suspected criminals and
petty thieves will also be put in place.
“Also, emergency response equipment will be available to ensure that everyone is safe.”
Kaweesi called for cooperation of guests, and locals will have to adhere
to strict traffic guidelines with no cars other than those with
accreditation accessing the shrines.

A
new television drama to be released by Fox next year will seek to
glamorize the devil in a hypothetical story about Satan’s earthly life
as the owner of a posh nightclub in America’s City of Angels.
“Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar has
abandoned his throne and retired to L.A., where he owns Lux, an upscale
nightclub,” a description of the series reads on the Fox website.
“Charming, charismatic and devilishly handsome, Lucifer is enjoying
his retirement, indulging in a few of his favorite things—wine, women
and song—when a beautiful pop star is brutally murdered outside of Lux,”
it continues. “For the first time in roughly 10 billion years, he feels
something awaken deep within him as a result of this murder.
Compassion? Sympathy? ”
Lucifer then becomes involved to help solve the murder mystery with
his demonic influence, and is torn between good and evil as he is
summoned back to Hell by a dark winged angel who speaks on behalf of
God.
Ellis
“As they work together to solve the pop star’s murder, Lucifer is
struck by [the detective] Chloe’s inherent goodness,” Fox explains.
“Accustomed to dealing with the absolute worst of humanity, Lucifer is
intrigued by Chloe’s apparent purity and begins to wonder if there’s
hope for his own soul yet.”
“[C]an the devil incarnate be tempted toward the side of good, or
will his original calling pull him back toward evil?” the network asks.
Lucifer is played by English-born actor Tom Ellis (Miranda, Rush,
Merlin). A photograph of Ellis giving the “devil horns” hand gesture is
posted to the program website.
While some have opined that the drama is harmless entertainment,
noting that it is based on a story line in DC Comics, others state that
glamorizing Satan before impressionable minds sends the wrong message
about the demonic.
“It was only a matter of time before Hollywood gave the devil a prime
time television show on a big network,” wrote Joe Schimmel of Good
Fight Ministries and host of the documentary “Hollywood’s War on God” in
an online post this
week. “After all, for the last several years, Hollywood has portrayed
everyone from meth dealers to sexual deviants as ‘cool,’ while depicting
Jesus as a cuss word!”
He said that the television show appears to suggest a number of false
ideas about the devil, including that he is lording over Hell as ruler,
and that he is a benevolent, in vogue being.
“Satan is not in the business of kindly helping the LAPD solve
crimes,” Schimmel explained. “Rather, he and his demonic minions are
busy inspiring the most heinous crimes imaginable. Jesus said, ‘He was a
murderer from the beginning,’ (John 8:44) and comes ‘to steal and kill
and destroy.’ (John 10:10)”
The pastor of Blessed Hope Chapel in Simi Valley, Calif. said that
viewers should be told the truth about the malevolent and destructive
nature of the devil.
“We should warn those who will be watching Fox’s Lucifer, who are
seduced into thinking that he is a ‘cool guy,’ about his truly
diabolical nature and malicious designs (2 Corinthians 2:11),” Schimmel
stated. “They need to know that Satan hates them and his desire is to
drag them down to Hell with him.”
Concerns
are arising among Christians and online commentators after a homosexual
activist recently told a national publication that churches “must be
made ‘to take homosexuality off the sin list.'”
Mitchell Gold is the founder of Faith in America, an organization
that aims to “end the harm to LGBT youth and families from misguided
religious teaching.” He served on the board of directors for the Human
Rights Campaign for seven years, and was named on of the “Top 50 Most
Powerful Gay People in America” in 2007 by Out Magazine.
In an article written by Frank Buni of the New York Times, Gold is
quoted as stating that he believes churches ought to be forced to stop
considering homosexual behavior as being sinful.
“Gold told me that church leaders must be made ‘to take homosexuality off the sin list,’ he wrote.
“His command is worthy—and warranted,” Buni commented. “All of us, no
matter our religious traditions, should know better than to tell gay
people that they’re an offense.”
The Times article centered on Indiana’s Religious Freedom Act and
Buni’s assertion that Christian Americans should “jettison” their
mindsets about homosexual behavior. He contended that the interpretation
of biblical text about homosexuality is “subjective” and “debatable”
and said that Christians disregard the “biases and blind spots of [the
Bible’s] authors, cultures and eras.”
“So our debate about religious freedom should include a conversation
about freeing religions and religious people from prejudices that they
needn’t cling to and can indeed jettison, much as they’ve jettisoned
other aspects of their faith’s history, rightly bowing to the
enlightenments of modernity,” Buni wrote. “Religion is going to be the
final holdout and most stubborn refuge for homophobia.”
But some have expressed dismay at Buni’s writing, as well as Gold’s
suggestion that churches should be forced to “take homosexuality off the
sin list.”
“Not ‘must be persuaded,’ but ‘must be made.’ Compelled. Forced. And
not forced to change our behavior, but forced to change what we believe.
Because you must approve,” wrote Rod Dreher of the American
Conservative. “Can you imagine the outcry if the Times published a
column saying that Jews or Muslims must be ‘made’ to quit believing a
tenet of their religion? If socialists must be ‘made’ to disavow any of
their political convictions? But not when the target is conservative
Christians…”
“So now government should be dictating belief to churches and
enforcing theological orthodoxy?” asked Thomas Williams PH.D. “Now
politicians and courts will be telling Christians what they are allowed
to consider as sinful? Isn’t this what America was founded to escape
from?”
“People are already talking about forcing churches to perform
same-sex weddings, whether they like it or not, or get out of the
marriage business,” he continued. “[A]ttempts to force [Christians] to
abandon their ethical standards and their principles reveal not
open-mindedness or fairness, but intolerance, chauvinism and hate. These
are the attitudes that have no place in America.”
Kevin Leininger of the News Sentinel made similar comments, stating
that forcing Christians to change their beliefs runs afoul of the U.S.
Constitution.
“Just as with debate over man-made global warming, the theology of
homosexuality is no longer open for discussion, and anyone who suggests
otherwise must be forcibly silenced, presumably by the government. How
that could be consistent with the First Amendment, Bruni did not say,”
he wrote.
“[Gold’s] call for censorship of the church—of God himself—is
noteworthy not only for its brazenness but because it was so
predictable,” Leininger continued. “As I have mentioned before, it can
be considered a hate crime to accurately quote Scripture in some
countries, and that free speech-chilling sentiment, clearly, exists here
as well and will only grow bolder if it is not resisted.”
But he noted that Scripture puts all men on an equal playing
field—and that all are under sin without the transforming power of Jesus
Christ.
“When [Gold] talks about taking homosexuality off the sin list, he
fails to understand (or at least acknowledge) that the Bible puts
everybody on the sin list,” he said. “That’s why we need a Savior in the
first place.”
Comedy of the year : Liberia
celebrates end of Ebola outbreak : Oh really : How can Liberia be free
from Ebola when Ebola creators are still at work: Tell me!! How can Liberia be free
from Ebola when Bio-war fare laboratories are still at work.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned against complacency about
the deadly Ebola virus, saying that the crisis isn't over.
"We have to keep our guard up," Sylvie Briand, head of epidemiology at
the UN's health agency, told a stock-taking meeting on Ebola in Paris.
Briand said the situation in Guinea, one of the three West African
states where Ebola has killed more than 11,000 people, left her "deeply
concerned."
Briand warned against hopes that a line could be drawn under the epidemic. stressing that "the crisis isn't over".
"I am afraid there could be another wave that could spread to neighbouring countries," she said.
The WHO official noted that Ebola emerged in Guinea at the end of 2013 and by April of 2014 had practically disappeared there.
It then dramatically bounced back a couple of months later before
spreading to neighbouring Liberia and Sierra Leone, with a scattering of
cases in Mali, Nigeria and Senegal.
Liberia was recently declared Ebola-free but Sierra Leone and Guinea
remain vulnerable to a resurgence of the lethal virus, the WHO said last
week.
Briand was speaking at a two-day conference at the Pasteur Institute in
Paris that will assess progress towards treatments and vaccines for
Ebola.

US researchers believe they may have pinpointed the Achilles heel of the
Ebola virus, which could hold the key to developing an effective
preventative vaccine, a study reported Tuesday.
Research published in the latest issue of mBio, the online journal of
the American Society for Microbiology, said scientists believed a
protein called Niemann-Pick C1 (NPC1) was critical for Ebola to infect a
host.
"Our study reveals NPC1 to be an Achilles heel for Ebola virus
infection," said co-study leader Kartik Chandran, associate professor of
microbiology and immunology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine
at Yeshiva University.
There are currently no federally approved treatments for Ebola in the
United States, and all of the therapies in development elsewhere are
designed to attack the virus.
Targeting NPC1 is the first host-based therapeutic approach to combat
the disease, which claimed thousands of lives during a devastating
outbreak in West Africa last year, the worst in history.
Previous in vitro studies had shown that Ebola enters host cells by
binding directly to NPC1 and that blocking the virus's ability to latch
on to the protein prevented infection.
To see whether this process was repeated in living organisms,
investigators exposed three different kinds of mice to the disease --
normal mice, mice which had been genetically engineered to be completely
deficient in NPC1 and mice engineered to have both a normal and a
mutant NPC1 level.
While normal mice died from Ebola infection after nine days, mice deficient in NPC1 were completely free of the virus.
"Mice lacking both copies of the NPC1 gene, and therefore devoid of the
NPC1 protein, were completely resistant to infection," Chandran said.
"NPC1 is absolutely essential for in vivo pathogenesis, and if you can
disrupt this, there are no signs of Ebola virus replication or
pathogenesis," added Andrew Herbert, senior research scientist in the
Viral Immunology Branch at the US Army Medical Research Institute of
Infectious Diseases in Maryland.
51 Suppose ye that I am come to
give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay;
but rather division: 52 For from henceforth
there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against
three. 53 The
father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the
mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in
law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in
law.(Luke 12:51-53)
34 Think
not that I am come to send peace on earth:
I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35 For I am come to set a man at variance
against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in
law against her mother in law.(Matthew 10:34-35)

“Jesus prayed that His Church would be sanctified
by the truth. This means there cannot be unity with those who believe another
gospel,” Mike Gendron of Proclaiming the Gospel Ministries told Christian News
Network. “Believers cannot be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Cor. 6:14).
Evangelicals can never have unity with Catholics because we are divided on the
essentials of the gospel, how one is born again, how one is justified, how one
is purified of sin, who can mediate between God and man and the efficacy,
sufficiency and necessity of Jesus Christ for salvation.”
Mike Gendron “God’s word declares that anyone who believes
another gospel has believed in vain (1 Cor. 15:2). Scripture also condemns
those who preach another gospel (Gal. 1:6-9),” he continued. “Pope Francis
preaches another gospel and denies that salvation is by grace alone through
faith in Christ alone. He preaches salvation is by water baptism, the
sacraments, good works, keeping the law and attending the sin offering of a
Eucharist Christ on an altar.”

Pope Francis has said that it's the
devil himself who keeps evangelicals, Catholics, and Christians from
other denominations divided, and rejected the notion that it's heretical
to believe that all Christians are one.
"Division is the work of
the 'Father of Lies,' 'the Father of Discord,' who does everything
possible to keep us divided," Francis said in a video message to a
gathering sponsored by the John 17 Movement, according to Catholic Herald.
"I feel like saying something that may
sound controversial, or even heretical, perhaps," he added. "But there
is someone who 'knows' that, despite our differences, we are one. It is
he who is persecuting us. It is he who is persecuting Christians today,
he who is anointing us with (the blood of) martyrdom."
Francis
added that the devil "knows that Christians are disciples of Christ,
that they are one, that they are brothers! He doesn't care if they are
Evangelicals or Orthodox, Lutherans, Catholics or Apostolic … he doesn't
care! They are Christians."
The Roman Catholic Church leader
insisted that "division is a wound in the body of the church of Christ.
And we do not want this wound to remain open," he said, urging for
Christians to seek unity together and pray for one another.
The
video was shared with the John 17 Movement in Phoenix, inspired by the
passage in the Bible in which Jesus prays for the unity of his
disciples.
The movement says on its official website that its vision is for Christians to respond to the final prayer of Jesus.
"On
the eve of His death, He pleaded: "Father, may all who believe in me be
one so the world will know you sent me." This final plea stands as the
most authoritative strategic direction for followers of Jesus," the
movement says.
"As we respond, the church — in all her rich
diversity — will emerge as the attractive "city on a hill" potently
demonstrating the authenticity of Jesus' claims."
Francis has made
the call for Christian unity one of the main missions of his papacy,
and has reached out to Christians from different denominations on a
number of occasions.
In July 2014 he became the first pope to
make an official visit to a Pentecostal church, when he spoke at the
Evangelical Church of Reconciliation in the southern city of Caserta,
Italy.
"Someone will be surprised: 'The pope went to visit the
evangelicals?' But he went to see his brothers," the pope told the 350
or so worshipers at the church, and offered his apologies for the past
persecution of Pentecostals at the hands of the Roman Catholic Church.
‘Pope Francis’ Claims Devil Keeping Evangelicals, Roman Catholics Divided: ‘They Are One’
ROME —
In a recorded video statement released on Saturday, the Roman Catholic
Pontiff known as Francis asserted that evangelicals and Catholics are
one, and that it is the devil who has divided the two groups.
“Division is the work of the ‘Father of Lies,’ ‘the Father of
Discord,’ who does everything possible to keep us divided,” he said.
The eight-minute video was for the “Celebration of Christian Unity”
event organized by John 17 Ministries out of Pheonix, Ariz., which seeks
to unite Christians and Catholics.
“I feel like saying something that may sound controversial, or even
heretical, perhaps,” Francis stated. “But there is someone who ‘knows’
that despite our differences we are one.”
“The devil knows that Christians are disciples of Christ, that they
are one, that they are brothers! He doesn’t care if they are
Evangelicals or Orthodox, Lutherans, Catholics or Apostolic … He doesn’t
care! They are Christians,” he said.
The pontiff asserted that the devil is persecuting both evangelicals and Roman Catholics alike because they are all Christian.
“It is he who is persecuting us. It is he who is persecuting
Christians today, he who is anointing us with (the blood of) martyrdom,”
he said. “Dear brothers and sisters, we are living in an ‘ecumenism of
blood.'”
Francis said that he unity must be achieved by each individual as he
doesn’t believe it will occur at the hands of Bible scholars.
“I am convinced it won’t be theologians who bring about unity among
us,” he stated. “Theologians help us, … but if we hope that theologians
will agree with one another, we will reach unity the day after Judgement
Day.”
However, some disagree with the pontiff’s ecumenical assertions,
stating that unity should not be sought at the expense of the gospel.
Gendron
“Jesus prayed that His Church would be sanctified by the truth. This
means there cannot be unity with those who believe another gospel,” Mike
Gendron of Proclaiming the Gospel Ministries told Christian News
Network. “Believers cannot be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Cor.
6:14). Evangelicals can never have unity with Catholics because we are
divided on the essentials of the gospel, how one is born again, how one
is justified, how one is purified of sin, who can mediate between God
and man and the efficacy, sufficiency and necessity of Jesus Christ for
salvation.”
“God’s word declares that anyone who believes another gospel has
believed in vain (1 Cor. 15:2). Scripture also condemns those who preach
another gospel (Gal. 1:6-9),” he continued. “Pope Francis preaches
another gospel and denies that salvation is by grace alone through faith
in Christ alone. He preaches salvation is by water baptism, the
sacraments, good works, keeping the law and attending the sin offering
of a Eucharist Christ on an altar.”
Gendron said that Francis is incorrect in pronouncing the divide to Satan.
“The pope has pronounced a fatal error by attributing the word of
Christ to the work of the devil. The Lord Jesus is the one who divides
believers from unbelievers (Luke 12:51-53),” he stated. “This Jesuit
pope is the one who is doing the work of the devil by rebuilding the
religious tower of Babel with his attempt to bring all Christians back
home to Rome. Tragically, some evangelicals are jumping on his
ecumenical bandwagon and departing from the faith (1 Tim. 4:1-3).”
The
infamous April 2011 image of Arinaitwe smashing the car of Besigye to
demolibilise him with pepper spray before he dragged him out of the
vehicle.

KAMPALA -Gilbert
Arinaitwe Bwana, a senior police officer who infamously tortured former
FDC president Kizza Besigye during a violent arrest, has split with his
wife in a flurry of counter accusations of adultery.
Arinaitwe has been married for three years to Beatrice Florence Nagawa, a lawyer by profession.
The marriage was dissolved Friday following a divorce suit that was
filed by Nagawa late last year over accusations of adultery.
In the ruling that was delivered by Emmy Geoffrey Sayekwo, a Grade One
senior principal magistrate at Mwanga II Court, Arinaitwe was denied
custody of their two children because they are still young and need the
attention of their mother.
"Considering the age of the said children, the applicant [Nagawa] is
the fit and proper person to maintain the children," Sayekwo ruled.
He added that, to avoid breaking family ties, Arinaitwe will have the
children for only one week during every school holiday and will be
paying a monthly upkeep of sh200, 000.
"You will stay with your children in the last week of the holidays so
that you can do shopping for their school requirements," Sayekwo said.
Arinaitwe made headlines in international media on April 28, 2011 when,
during Besigye's arrest, he smashed the back window of the opposition
leader's four-wheel-drive vehicle with the butt of a pistol and sprayed
pepper gas in his face.
He then dragged the immobilised politician out of the car, all in front of local and international media.
Besigye was to later be flown to Nairobi for medical treatment.
‘Born again’ State security agent from Pastor
Kayanja's church tortures Uganda
opposition leader during arrest
The Director of Public Prosecution has cleared Assistant
Superintendent of Police Gilbert Bwana Arinaitwe of any wrong doing in
the brutal arrest of Kiiza Besigye, the former FDC president during the
walk to work demonstration in 2011.
The DPP said in a letter to CIID Director that the Police officers
acted within the law. He quoted section 22, 23, 24 of the police Act to
defend this position.
According to DPP, the Police officers who effected the brutal arrest
acted within the law to direct Besigye to use Yusuf Lule road from
Mulago Roundabout and his refusal was an offence to which police was
entitled to arrest him.
''Section 2 of the Criminal Procedure Code act permits police to use
all means necessary to effect an arrest where a person forcibly resists
the endeavor to arrest him”, reads the letter to Grace Akullo, CIID
Director.
According to the DPP, Besigye’s act of locking himself in the car and
refusal to heed to advice to open the door and held up traffic at a
critical intersection in town for two hours, made the action of the
police justified.
In a letter dated 26th August 2014, addressed to Grace Akullo, the
Director CIID, a copy of which URN had obtained, Linon Anguzo, the
senior state Attorney who wrote on behalf of the DPP notes that there is
no evidence to show that the means used to effect the arrest was
unnecessary.
Anguzo says there is no clear evidence that the police officers
committed any offence in effecting the arrest, adding that, “Arinaitwe
could have acted a little high handed but he was justified in effecting
the arrest.”
On April 28th 2011, heavily armed Policemen under the command of
Assistant Inspector General of Police Grace Turyagumanawe, the then
Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander intercepted Besigye at Mulago
Hospital round about, to prevent him from accessing the city center.
Besigye locked himself in the vehicle forcing Turyagumanawe to knock
on the windscreens to compel him to come out in vain. However,
unidentified man in civilian clothes who was later identified as
Arinaitwe, approached the window of the car and drew a pistol. He used
the butt of the gun to smash the windscreen of Besigye’s vehicle.
Another man in civilian clothes also smashed the windscreen of the
vehicle on the opposite side using a hammer before another cop, sprayed
the occupants including Besigye with pepper spray. As a result,
Besigye’s driver gave in and opened the door.
Besigye and his driver were arrested and bundled on a waiting police patrol vehicle.
The incident drew wide condemnation from opposition leaders,
parliamentarians, civil society activists and the public. They called
for immediate investigations and prosecution of the officers involved in
the brutal arrest.
Police bowed to the pressure and opened investigations vie
CID/SIU/GEF 60/2011 in a case of Uganda versus D/ASP Arinaitwe Bwana
Gilbert and others including Grace Turyagumananwe.
The officers were tentatively charged with using unnecessary
excessive force contrary to the police act and the criminal Procedure
Code Act as well as brutality.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations and Intelligence (CIID) submitted the file to the DPP for perusal and advice.
Arinaitwe: God’s faithful who nearly killed Dr Besigye
As the public continues to express outrage at how the
plain-clothed man, who has since been identified as Gilbert Bwana
Arinaitwe, almost single-handedly assaulted Dr Kizza Besigye in a manner
only the extremely sadistic would apply to their worst enemies, many of
his family members are beside themselves with fury, embarrassment but
also surprise.
Someone relatively close to some of these family members has told The
Observer that the Arinaitwe they saw on television fly-kick Besigye’s
car window at Mulago roundabout, hammer it with the butt of his pistol
and spray him incessantly as if, as one person commented on the popular
social networking site Facebook, he were spraying cockroaches or some
other irritating vermin, is not the Gilbert they know.
The Arinaitwe they know – and who is mostly known by his family name,
Bwana – is a very calm, collected, soft-spoken and rational man. They
couldn’t imagine that he is capable of such degree of anger and violence
that shocked the public beyond belief.
A number of people The Observer spoke to, who know and have interacted with Arinaitwe, describe him in much the same way.
“I was mostly annoyed to see that he was doing all he was doing while
laughing,” said someone who has interacted with him a number of times.
Nobody at this moment is able to explain how that transformation
could have happened, but some within his family are beginning to think
it could be a consequence of serious indoctrination he might have
undergone when he joined the police.
The first born of his mother (his father, who died when Arinaitwe was
still young, had another wife), Arinaitwe, who is about 31 years old,
was born in Kampala and grew up around Kamwokya.
His ancestral home, however, is in Kabale, among the well-known Bwana
family. His uncle, Maj Victor Bwana, was part of the 1981-86 guerrilla
war that brought President Yoweri Museveni to power. Maj Bwana, who died
around 1988, was a close friend of Dr Besigye, whom the nephew nearly
killed on Thursday.
Arinaitwe went to Buganda Road Primary School, after which he joined
Bugema Adventist School and, later, Uganda Christian University, Mukono,
where he graduated in 2006. After searching for a job in vain for two
years, Arinaitwe joined the police.
“There was a sense that he joined the police because he couldn’t find a job,” an acquaintance of his told The Observer.
This, however, needs to be taken with a grain of salt, as it runs
counter to the respect and connections his family is reputed to have
within the government, in which some of his relatives are employed.
Nonetheless, this acquaintance further says that upon completion of
training, he was first posted to police headquarters in Nsambya, where
he did not stay long before he was attached to the security of Pastor
Robert Kayanja of Rubaga Miracle Centre.
Arinaitwe is a member of this church, along with several other senior
and middle level police officers like spokeswoman, Judith Nabakooba,
and is said to have been part of the investigations into allegations of
sodomy against Kayanja.
Arinaitwe became Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in
September 2007. His current rank is Assistant Superintendant of Police
(Officer’s File No. A/1089) officially in the Criminal Investigations
Directorate – Homicide, although he is currently with the Kireka-based
Rapid Response Unit.
Kayihura's police
That in the short time (less than three years) he has been a police
officer, he was found competent enough to lead the arrest of the
country’s leading opposition politician is telling of the real nature of
ideological orientation and transformation that the Inspector General
of Police, Maj Gen Kale Kayihura, is overseeing in the Uganda Police
Force.
In a February interview with The Observer, Kayihura said, among the
things he was proud of as IGP is that: “The image of the police is
changing. It is getting closer to the people.
It was a remote institution, station-based just out to arrest and
brutalise and not be helpful to the people. That perception is starting
to change. The officers are responding to this transformation. It was
difficult [at the beginning].”
It is not known whether Arinaitwe was officially withdrawn from the
pastor’s security (one member of the church told The Observer he is
still a part of it) although he is currently known to be a detective
attached to the Rapid Response Unit.
This force, which is under the police, has undergone several
metamorphoses from the frightening ‘Operation Wembley’ squad that shot
alleged robbers on spot, to the Violent Crime Crack Unit – which was
Wembley in everything but name – to its current RRU, which has also been
fingered for its terror, torture and wanton abuse of people’s rights.
God's faithful
An avowed evangelical Christian, Arinaitwe, whose name is a direct
Runyankore translation of Emmanuel, which means God is with us,
perceived his recruitment into the police as a calling from God to
evangelise the force and win over souls to him.
Speaking assuredly at Mbarara Pentecostal Church sometime in 2009
with the kind of rhetoric only common with radical evangelicals, he is
noted to have said that Uganda, under God’s direct watch and unction,
was undergoing serious transformation.
He challenged his listeners to remain steadfast in their faith and
hope for the country and ensure they are a part of it. Arinaitwe is part
of a cabal of radical evangelicals who were openly recruited into the
Uganda Revenue Authority to supposedly clean up the rot in this
institution and clandestinely into the police on the recommendation of
top placed people in government.
Arinaitwe’s evangelical community, however, are ashamed by his
brutality and they are saying as much in comments posted on Facebook.
In one of many comments on his Facebook wall, Pastor Michael Kyazze
of Omega Healing Centre wrote: “The guys dragging KB [Kizza Besigye],
who claim to be born-again, are used to terrorise Ugandans.”
Arinaitwe is married to Ms Beatrice Nagawa, an advocate.

Kampala- A man claiming to be a
pastor has contested paternity tests confirming that he is the
biological father of a child he had with one of his followers.
Pr Job Inawole Olusegun, a Nigerian mission pastor
attached to a local church in Kampala, denied fathering the said child
on grounds that he had a single sexual encounter with Robinah Nadunga
and that she could not get pregnant.
Paternity test results released on March 13, and
signed by Principle Government Analyst Geoffrey Onen confirmed that Pr
Olusegun is the biological father of Nadunga’s child.
“A statistical analysis carried out and the
calculated paternity index indicates that the DNA evidence is more times
likely that Pr Olusegun is the biological father of the child than
unrelated untested man in the population,” reads a DNA report.
Upon release of the DNA results, Magistrate Moses Nabende briefed the pastor on the findings and his responsibility.
However, the pastor insisted that he is not the
biological father, claiming that the results were concocted before
asking court to allow him carry out a separate set of results but this
time from outside the country (South Africa).
Pr Olusegun in his affidavit in response to the
complainant indicated that he is a family man as he accused Ms Nadunga
of being on a mission to tarnish his name.
“…I have never at any one time stayed with the
complainant under the same roof as I am a happily married man with two
children,” said the pastor.
“I have been living in Wandegeya, Katanga, with my
family under the same roof since November, 2010. Attached is a
certificate of marriage from the Republic of Nigeria,” he stated in the
affidavit.
Separate test In order to clear his doubts, court has now given Pr Olusegun a chance to carry out his separate DNA test in South Africa.
The background
Documents before City Hall Court where this case
is lodged show that Ms Robinah Nadunga came to know Pr Olusegun when she
started praying from his church, Rescue Mission International Ministry,
a Pentecostal church based in Katanga, a city suburb.
But after some time, Ms Nadunga claims she started cohabiting with the man of God and they were blessed with one child.
Their love, however, turned sour when the pastor decided to evict her from the house in which they were staying.
He also refused to provide maintenance for his child. Ms Nadunga then
decided to report Pr Olusegun to Kampala Capital City Authority’s
probation office to force the pastor to own upto his esponsibilities.
The matter was later forwarded to City Hall Court.
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's
clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather
grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so
every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth
evil fruit.
18 A good
tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good
fruit.
19 Every
tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

by their fruits ye shall know them. (Matthew 7:15-20

Malawian Prophet Bushiri’s wife unfazed over husband’s libidinous acts
Wife of Malawi’s popular and self-proclaimed Prophet Shepard Bushiri
has finally come out in the open to defend her husband’s purported
behaviour of indiscriminate sexual intercourse, claiming she is totally
relaxed about it.
This follows a rash of destructive stories that have been grabbing
headlines, particularly in social media, about her controversial husband
who “owns” the Enlightened Christian Gathering Church (ECG) and the
Shepherd Bushiri Ministries International.
But after months of watching her loved one being “dry-cleaned” in
public from a distance, the wife (Mary Bushiri) last Sunday failed to
endure the strikes on the ‘Man of God’ when she allegedly picked on all
girls who have been attacking her love of life.
For some time, tens of girls from the country’s major cities and
towns have been claiming to be Bushiri’s lovers with others declaring
that the man of God had fathered them babies.
Prophet Bushir (middle) with some of his two babies fathered from different girls
The girls have been meeting and posting all sorts of their stories on
social networks, particularly Facebook, while taking turns to censure
the youthful prophet, who others have revealed that his real name is
Chipiliro Gama.
According to discussants on the social network the wife challenged
all the girls in the church (ECG) that her husband cannot marry them
even if they held intercession prayers.
Prophet Bushiri's wife
The discussants alleged Mrs Bushiri found it proper to divert from
preaching the Bible verses to condemn people who perpetuate negative
stories about her husband as losers.
Bushiri’s wife further challenged people who write or comment on
internet to continue, saying it was making her husband become more
popular through their writings.
The prophet, who has been ministering in several African countries
such as Uganda, Mozambique, Tanzania, Namibia and South Africa, is being
accused of fathering babies promiscuously with girls from his church
through what he calls deliverance and appears not to mind the task of
his zip during overnight prayers.
Last week, Prophet Bushiri confessed through his Facebook that he
also sins as he was not an angel and urged his followers and other
believers to pray for him and other men of God.

The confession comes after a fresh damaging revelation by a girl
known as Nellie Chirambo Nyakamela who he reportedly used to bonk and
now has his child.
The girl claimed through a Facebook group, My Malawi My Views, that she had one of Bushiri’s several kids.
Nellie posted the photograph of the child on her wall alongside
another belonging to a Mzimba based girl, Brenda, who dragged the man of
God to court for damages after he refused responsibility.
But in his confession, the prophet said: “Men of God need your
prayers and encouragements not attacks. Men of God are men not angels.
They can also make mistakes, stumble and fall. Look at what happened to
David in the Bible. He sinned by sleeping with another man’s wife and
went ahead to kill the husband to the woman. He committed two terrible
sins- adultery and murder. Did God condemn him? Instead, God sent a man
to talk to him that what he did was not good and David repented.”
Prophet Bushiri Builds business empire
The prophet further observed that people nowadays have a tendency of
waiting for men of God to stumble and then start attacking them instead
of holding their hands and helping them to stand.
“We are so excited to see their downfall. I wonder what would have
happened if David was in our day. The fact that God allowed you to know
men of God’s weaknesses, it’s not for you to expose or attack them but
to pray for them. Let’s pray for our men of God!
“We are one family, we are one body, we are one church and Christ is
the head. Take time tonight thinking on what I have said and pray for
any man of God that you know. We are equal in fellowship but different
in responsibilities. God has given His anointing upon His servants and
that’s what differentiates between you and them. As for you fellow men
of God, keep on moving don’t worry with those who are backbiting. They
are not biting your front; it’s your back that they are biting. Move
forward,” wrote Prophet Bushiri on his Facebook page.
The prophet is currently answering a defamation court case after he
was sued by Member of Parliament for Dowa East, Jimmy Bauleni Manna.
Manna sued the man of God after he alleged that the law maker had
impregnated Taonga Jamali (Bushiri’s secretary) and later forced her to
abort a two-month-old pregnancy.
Internet shows that Naava Nabagesera who affirmed Bushiri’s
appointment is allegedly one of the extortionists in Uganda
Major Prophet Shepherd Bushiri of the Enlightened Christian Gathering
(ECG) who has earned himself a reputation as a man of God with succinct
prophecies yet has attracted controversies to himself ranging from sex
scandals to lies has been caught in another storm once again.
Information that Malawi24 has indicates that the flamboyant prophet
who not long ago made a ridiculous claim that he had been blessed with a
private jet which has never been seen by anybody has been lying to the
media that he has been chosen chair of an organisation called AFFRICI.
Information on one online newspaper indicated that Bushiri had been
elected the President of the said organisation which is said to be a
gathering of religious leaders in Africa that aspire to assist in
development.
However, sources have confided to Malawi24 that the claims are like
that of the jet and are mere attempts by the boastful man of God to
publicly raise his image.
"There is no such an organisation like the AFFRICI" said a source
close to the prophet who acknowledged being a part of the team that
cooked the story. "That is just written to sell the brand of the
prophet."
A search by Malawi24 on the internet revealed that the organisation
has no presence on the web further casting doubts if it exists.
One person who commented on the issue declared that Bushiri was a
liar who was seeking vain glory and had therefore used his PR team to
create a fabricated story so as to appear influential in Africa.
"A simple google search will display the vanity of this
self-glorifying exercise by the conman, this Naava quoted has a
beautiful record as a conwoman. Simply type in the search box, AFRRICI
and see the results," commented one person on a post that was shared on
Facebook about the prophet being appointed the President of the
non-existent organisation.
When Malawi24 went to search for Catherine Naava Nabagesera who was
quoted in the story as affirming Bushiri's appointment it discovered
that she is alleged as one of the extortionists in Uganda who hides
behind the name of God as Bushiri himself.
Further contrary to the article Naava Nabagesera is not an advisor of
Museveni on religious affairs as it was claimed in the PR stunt by the
prophet who was in the courts for denying responsibility of a baby who
resembled him and the public concluded was his.
"The article was cooked by us, we just submitted it to the media
house and there was no verification of it or whatsoever. There is no
truth in it and that is our PR job," said one of Bushiri's trusted press
man who opted for anonymity.
When the prophet was put on the spot over the issue he threatened our
reporter with legal action if this story was to see the light of day.
The prophet currently has been under fire on social media after a
Malawi news network report claimed he had alleged that Malawi president
Peter Mutharika is a Satanist and is making the country poor as God's
punishment.
