Evidence has begun to surface that Benny and Suzanne Hinn's much publicized remarriage may have been canceled, or at the very least postponed from its planned date of Friday, Oct. 26.
According to the Benny Hinn Ministries website, Benny Hinn will be holding three "miracle services" at Wake Chapel Church in Raleigh, N.C., on Oct. 25-26. Two of the services, one at 10:00 a.m. and another at 7:00 p.m., will take place on Oct. 26.Of further curiosity is that Cavalry Assembly of God in Orlando, the church where the ceremony is supposed to take place, does not list the Hinn remarriage on its online calendar.
The Christian Post called the Cavalry Assembly regarding the remarriage. Cavalry responded that it was best to contact Benny Hinn Ministries because "we are just letting them use the building and other than that we are not directly involved."
Benny Hinn Ministries was then contacted, but no representative of the ministry responded to The Christian Post by press time.
In February 2010, Suzanne Hinn filed for divorce from the famous prosperity faith-healing preacher after 30 years of marriage. Court documents cited irreconcilable differences as a reason. Hinn, who frequently travels the world performing faith healings and delivering speeches, claimed at one point that his time away from his family caused the marital problems that led to the divorce.
In late May, Hinn announced that he and his ex-wife had reconciled. In a statement on his website, the charismatic preacher said the process had begun last Christmas.
"Our God is a God of restoration and reconciliation. The cross is the ultimate symbol of His unending yearning to reconcile man to God and will be our only hope for healing," reads the statement.
"I know, for I experienced this healing when I gave my heart to my precious Master Jesus so many years ago; but I have experienced His healing touch more recently when He began His glorious healing work in my own family, as the process of restoration in my marriage has begun."
On an episode of "The 700 Club" in June, Hinn and his wife announced that they would be holding a remarriage ceremony on Oct. 26 at the Calvary Assembly in Orlando, Fla. – the church that Suzanne Hinn's father once served as lead pastor.
Jack Hayford, notable Pentecostal minister who serves as chancellor of King's University in Los Angeles and leader of Jack Hayford Ministries, was tapped to preside over the ceremony. Benny Hinn credited Hayford with helping to restore the marriage.
"You wake up to the fact that you need your wife, and she wakes up to the fact that she needs her husband," said Benny Hinn on "The 700 Club."
"I have always loved this girl and she has always loved me. We never broke the covenant. Our marriage has been restored. We just want to make sure that we don't repeat the same mistakes."
