PASTOR Robert Kayanja of Rubaga Miracle Centre has said that the prophesy which he made in 2005 that one of the presidential candidates then, would die during the campaign period was true although it didn’t happen.

Kayanja told Sunday Vision in an interview on Thursday at his offices in Rubaga that he declared the prophesy after God had unveiled it to him. “The candidate I had prophesized to die didn’t because many Ugandans prayed which saved him and the country from witnessing such a nasty experience,” he said.

Kayanja had also prophesized that violence would sweep the country after the death of that candidate.

He said that there was violence in the campaigns as he had prophesized.

“The 2006 campaigns were violent and most of the candidates had serious violence related problems. Ssebana Kizito suffered a lot in northern Uganda, Besigye and Museveni also suffered,” he said.

Kayanja said that after making the prophesy, people from all walks of life rang him and pinned him to disclose the details of the candidate who was to die in the campaigns.

The prophesy sparked off criticisms from a cross-section of Ugandans who linked it to their candidates.

Pastor Solomon Male was one of the people who were angered by the prophesy. He told Sunday Vision in an interview that it was a sign that Kayanja was a merchant in religion. Asked why he was not as active as he was in the 2006 general elections, Kayanja said that his Church holds several crusades in which the followers are sensitised on their civil responsibility.

He predicted 2011 as a year of transformation for every Ugandan. He said that everyone will be lifted up from misery to happiness.
