HAVE YOU READ PROF.ZACHARIAS TANEE FOMUM'S BOOKS

Dear Saints, I urge you to read Prof.Zacharias Tanee Fomum's books and compare them with Prosperity gabbage from Benny Hinn, Joyce Mayer, Dollar, Copeland etc. If you love the LORD and are committed to the truth, you will surely come to the conclusion that we have surely lost the True gospel. This saved Doctor of science one time went to Kampala Pentecostal church, by the time he finished even pastors wanted to be born again once more. The funny thing , he was never invited again. In july, 2008, He had a crusade in CMF, uganda. He preached on the the ''sin of self centeredness''.As he preached the conviction of the holy ghost was so strong. Many ran to christ.

36 Reasons for Winning the Lost

Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(4 copies available)
68 pages.
Preface
The Lord Jesus had one reason for coming from heaven into our world. That reason was to seek and to save the lost. The Bible says, "Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance : Christ Jesus came into the World to save sinners - of whom I am the worst" (1 Timothy 1:15). The Lord Jesus said, "For the Son of man came to seek and to save what was lost" (Luke 19:10).
The Lord Jesus came to seek and to save the lost. He died on the cross for all sinners and thus shed His blood for all men. Everyone who believes in the Lord Jesus is saved from the consequence of his sin - eternal separation from God in hell Everyone who does not believe in the Lord Jesus will go to hell.
The one reason why the Lord Jesus did not take you to heaven the day you believed was that you should stay on earth and be His partner in winning the lost.
In this book we have given you reasons why you must win the lost. May the Holy Spirit set your heart on fire as you read the book, so that you will take no rest but give yourself wholeheartedly to the supreme task of winning the lost.
God bless you abundantly!
Yours in the battle to win the lost.

A Successful Marriage: The husband's making

Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(5 copies available)
62 pages.
PREFACE
The husband is called upon to be the king, the prophet and the priest of his wife. The extent to which he fulfills these roles determines the quality of his marriage. As the head, the success of the marriage will be determined by him. Also, as the head, the failure of the marriage will reflect the extent to which he has failed. This means that the secret to a successful marriage is with the man.
God has commanded the man to love his wife as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her. The love with which Christ loves the church is a supernatural one - God's love. No husband can love his wife naturally in a sustained way. Natural love does not last. If the husband is to love his wife as Christ loves the church, he must receive God's supernatural love from the Holy Spirit and pour that love on his wife. Because the love of God poured out into the heart of man by the Holy Spirit is unceasingly available, it is possible for a man to receive that love and love his wife with ft God's love unceasingly and increasingly. This will provide a solid foundation for a successful marriage.
The message in this book was first given to married couples in the church in Yaounde. It was then compiled from the notes taken and completed from the cassette recordings. The author added only slight touches to what was written from the spoken message.
The next book in this series is going to be, "A Successful Marriage: The Wife's Making." |
We send this small book out with prayer that it be used by the Lord of the church to bring blessings to the unmarried, to those contemplating on marriage and to those who are married. I
We also send it out with prayer that the Holy Spirit should use it to correct and bless many marriages, so that the Lord may be exalted in Christian couples and His purpose in marriage fulfilled.

A Successful Marriage: The wife's making

Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(4 copies available)
82 pages.
PREFACE
The wife is called upon to be a suitable helper of her husband. She is called upon to help him to accomplish the call of God Dn his life. The Bible says, "The Lord God took the man and p ut him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. And the Lord God commanded the man, You are free to eat From any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree Df the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die. The Lord God said, It is not good for the. man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him. Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. So the man. gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found. So the Lord God caused the man td fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, for she was taken out of man. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh" (Genesis 2:15-24).
We can see in this passage, which portrays God's original thought about marriage, that the following were fundamental for a successful marriage: |
1. Adam created by God and living in fellowship with God.
2. Adam given a specific task to do by God.
3. A suitable helper needed to help Adam to be all that God wanted him to be, (particularly in accomplishing the God-given task of working up the garden and, taking care of it).
4. Eve created to be that suitable helper.
5. Adam fulfilled in having Eve as his helper.
Because this is the divine model, a marriage will succeed as it labours and becomes what God had in mind from the beginning, A wife will nidi\c ner marriage succeed as she labours and becomes the helper suitable for her husband.
In this book, we shall study what is involved in becoming and being a suitable helper, for as a wife becomes and continues as a suitable helper for her husband, she would have brought in her full contribution to make their marriage successful.
I very much needed the contribution of someone of the opposite sex to enable this small book to make more sense. I needed a woman to say something to women that would help them to bring in their full contribution to making their marriages successful. It is for this reason that chapters 8 and 9 were written by a godly woman - Esther Kouonang.
Many marriages are failing in our day. Even some marriages of true believers are broken or in bad shape. We know that this must grieve our heavenly Father's heart. We also know that a successful marriage pleases His heart and bears strong testimony to the power of Christ to save and transform.
Because our burden is that the largest number of lost people all over the world should be radically converted to the Lord Jesus and transformed into His likeness in the shortest possible time, we send out this small book with much prayer that it should be used by the Holy Spirit to transform some broken and breaking marriages into marriages that are successful, and that it should transform all happy marriages into successful marriages for the glory of the Lord and the advance of the Gospel.

In every race, the prize is awarded to those who run to the end.
You might have started as a disciple of the Lord Jesus. That was a good beginning.
However, I ask, "Are you still a disciple of the Lord Jesus?"
Let the testimonies and messages in this book help you to situate yourself and, by the grace of God, return to being a disciple of the Lord Jesus, if you have backslidden. Let this book help you to become a disciple of the Lord Jesus, if you have never become one. Even if you think that all is going well with you, read the book in order to help others who may be in need.
May the Holy Spirit, the Revealer of the Lord Jesus Christ, draw close to you and help you to see things clearly as you read and to act on this message!

Be Filled With The Holy Spirit

Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(1 copies available)
30 pages.
The greatest need of the hour is that everyone who is saved from the lake of fire by the blood that was shed on the Cross by Lord Jesus be filled with the Holy Spirit. The Lord's perfect will is that each believer be filled with the Holy Spirit and filled with power. The Bible says, "Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. Do not get drunk with wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit" (Ephesians 5:17-18)
The Lord wants to fill His children with the Holy Spirit and with His power. He is waiting anxiously to do this. Although He is anxious to do this, He can only fill those who are empty. Those who are filled with sin, self, the love of the world or the love of the things that are in the world cannot be filled with the Holy Spirit, because they are already filled with the wrong thing or with the wrong things.
Below are seven heart conditions. The shaded part of the heart represents things in the heart that must be removed before the Lord can fill the heart. Some have more things standing in the way of their being filled with the Holy Spirit, while others have less. However, the Lord can only fill a heart to overflowing with the Holy Spirit when all that already fills the heart has been removed.

It is true that a believer whose heart is represented by diagram 6 has less that stands in the way of his being filled with the Holy Spirit that the believers whose hearts are represented by diagrams 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5. However, the believer whose heart is represented by diagram 6 must remove all that is left in his heart and life before he can qualify to be filled with the Holy Spirit, even as the believers whose hearts are represented by diagrams 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 must remove all that stands in the way.
God's purposes in the New Covenant are tied to people who are filled with the Holy Spirit. To be filled with the Holy Spirit, a person must remove every other thing that fills his heart and life. We have thought about the things that often fill the hearts of people and so hinder them from being filled with the Holy Spirit. Below is such a list. Study the list carefully, going from one item to another. If you find anything on the list in your life, you have found what separates you from being filled with the Holy Spirit. Acknowledge its presence in your life. Ask and receive from the Lord the power to hate its illegal presence in your life. Uproot it from your heart and throw it away. Carry out the necessary restitution and never allow it to come back into your heart and life.
After you have uprooted all that should not be in your life, you will have a pure heart (diagram 7). You may have to fast and pray so as to soften your heart, so that some things that resist departure from the heart should effectively be pushed out of your heart and life.
You may ask me how long it will take to remove all the things that are lited and which should not be in your heart. The answer is that it depends on you. It should take 584 minutes or 584 hours or 584 days or 584 months, depending on how willing your heart is to let go all the things that do not please the Lord. Yes, it will depend on how urgently you want to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Those who are in a hurry to be filled with the Holy Spirit will be in a hurry to remove the obstacles that stand between them and the Spirit-filled life. Such people will take no rest and give God no rest until the obstacles are removed.
Immediately you present a pure heart to God, He will fill it with the Holy Spirit. He is eagerly waiting to fill you. Empty yourself without delay.

Brokenness (The Secret of Spiritual Overflow)

Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(5 copies available)
135 pages.
"BROKENNESS," by Professor Fomum, is a real classic for walking the Christian life with total abandonment to the Lord.
After the new birth, a man's spirituality is not measured by his capacity to preach great sermons, to cast out demons, or to heal the sick. Such capacities could be the manifestation of spiritual gifts, which are received from God, regardless of who the person is. Such a person may:
• be totally unrecognizable at the slightest provocation,
• be selfish and self-centred
• love sin,
• hide or blame others for his mistakes and failures,
• get worried when faced with the least problem, and act before he has prayed about it,
• etc.
This talks of an unbroken life in which, unfortunately, most believers who truly confess the name of the Lord, find themselves several years after conversion.
The purpose of God in the new creation is to produce people who attain spiritual maturity, by quickly attaining the stature of broken men and women. God does it through the cross, to break and destroy the natural man, and by the work of the Holy Spirit, to build the character of Christ in the believer. Brokenness therefore depends on the degree to which a person has allowed the cross and the Holy Spirit to work in him.
Taking Jacob's life as a basis, the author shows how one can go from the state of the natural man (unconverted) to that of a carnal believer (unbroken), then to that of a spiritual believer (broken); that is, a life in which the believer:
• belongs totally to the Lord,
• allows free access to God in the minutest details of his life,
• no longer presents any obstacle to God.
Read this book. It will challenge you and help you to make progress on the pathway of brokenness, to such an extent that you will soon be able to confess with apostle Paul, "It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me."

Come and See! Jesus has not Changed

Zacharias Tanee Fomum

90 pages.
This book is the testimony of the Salvation, Deliverance and Healing Convention which Christian Missionary Fellowship International, Douala, conducted from the 9th to the 25th of May, 2003, at the Ndogsimbi Christian Centre, under the leadership of Professor Z. T. Fomum and the resident pastors.
Here is one of the testimonies of this Convention: "I was suffering from cataract. A surgical operation in Yaounde on 21st January, 2000 did not enable me to regain my sight. A lot of prayers were offered on my behalf. On 21st May, 2003 at the Convention at the Ndogsimbi Christian Centre, after the sick were prayed for, I was healed. I now can see, and I praise the Lord Jesus Christ for my healing." (NDENGUE Lydie)
As can be seen from the above testimony, the Ndogsimbi event was a manifestation of God's power acting through Professor Z. T. Fomum and the leaders of CMFI.
Professor Fomum is a teacher in the Department of Organic Chemistry in the University of Yaounde I. He is President of Christian Missionary Fellowship International, which is a missionary-sending movement. Since the beginning of his ministry in 1975, God has graciously used him to build many people up in the Lord, both in Cameroon and abroad.
The Ndogsimbi Christian Centre is the Salvation, Deliverance and Healing Centre of Christian Missionary Fellowship International in Douala. The leadership of the Centre is carried out by a number of pastors whose addresses are given at the end of this book.
Read this book, and you will be strengthened in your faith.

Deliverance From Demons

Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(1 copies available)
94 pages.
PREFACE

When the Lord first laid it on my heart to teach the church in Yaounde, of which I am one of the teaching elders, on “Deliverance from Demons and Evil Spirits”, as usual, I took time to read the New Testament over and over in order to see afresh what it said about the subject. After all the preparation was over, I sat down in my office in our “clinic for Spiritual Diseases”, to write the talks. It was then that I found out that I was in for big trouble. First of all, the light in the office began to go on and off in an unprecedented way. I could not work normally. On some evenings, I would get paralysed in my right hand and not be able to write, but when I stood up to go home, I would be instantly healed. One night, I felt so sick in my heart, head, body, and all that I went home feeling that that was my last night on earth. Because of these fierce attacks, I made little progress with the book. It was then that one of my co-labourers in the Lord offered to pray for me as I wrote. So while I wrote, she prayed. I was then able to finish those talks and deliver them. Because of those messages, the deliverance ministry was restored to many assemblies in the country and we thank GOD for it.

The devil did not sit quiet while his captives were released. The message received attacks from some believers, who without having cast out a single demon from an unbeliever, thought they knew what and how the deliverance ministry should be. Such attacks are expected for this book.

It is now nearly four years since those messages were written and preached. The burden has remained on me to see competent believers deliver those who are attacked by demons. The increase in the number of people needing deliverance in our ministry, and the havoc being done on the Kingdom by demons, compelled me to write out those original talks into this book.

I have done it under severe attacks from the Enemy. I will not share what has been done by the prince of demons to stop me from writing this book. Suffice it to say that the fight has been fierce, very fierce.

Now the book has been written and will be produced. I thank the Lord Jesus, the Victorious King, who disarmed principalities and powers, and made a public show of them, triumphing over them on His cross and who is my Lord and Helper. I thank all the saints who fasted and prayed for me while I was writing his book. I cannot imagine what it would have been like without them.

I send this book out with prayer that the Lord will use it to bless you and to bless others through you. May the Lord use it to make a contribution to the destruction of the ill-fated kingdom of Satan.

I have read extensively on the subject. I am most grateful for help received from the book, “War on the Saints” by Jessie Pen Lewis and “Deliver us from Evil” by Don Basham.

Deliverance From the sin Of Laziness

Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(4 copies available)
104 pages.
Larry Burkett said, "The trend today is to seek the path of least resistance, and when the going gets difficult, give up." That is a good description of a lazy person: the one who seeks the path of least resistance and who gives up when things get difficult.
Most of the world is lazy. Too many believers are idle. Few attain their God-given potential. The Kingdom suffers because of the too many spectators who are sed to be soldiers in the army of the Lord.
The loss to God, to the Kingdom of God, and to the lazy person that is caused by the sin of laziness is beyond measure. Must things continue that way? I do not think so.
Laziness is a deadly sin. The one who commits this sin can be delivered. That is what this book is about.
May the Lord bless you as you read it! Amen.

Discipleship at any cost

Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(3 copies available)
58 pages.
A disciple of Christ is a person who has, first of all, received the Lord Jesus Christ as his or her personal Savior and is therefore reconciled to God, and, secondly, has set his whole heart, mind and all to seek Him. The disciple makes Jesus his all and forsakes everything that may stand in the way of his fellowship with Christ. Such a one has Christ for his all in all and desires nothing outside of Him. Such a relationship with Christ in which he becomes our all in all is very costly and, since the Lord Jesus warns us to count the cost, let us look at the cost.

INTRODUCTION

Last year I spent one month in one of the leading countries of the world. The country's population is said to be 25% Christians. Yet, the claim is that one out of every four people is born again.

I was also told that the divorce rate was sky-rocketing. One minister even told me that the divorce rate among believers was just as high as the one among the unsaved.

I was told that leading ministers of the gospel were divorcing their wives and marrying other women while continuing to have the blessings of God on their big ministries.

This set me thinking!

Were they using a Bible that was different from the one I was using?

Were we in different religions?

I began to think seriously on the subject. I read and re-read the Scriptures.

You will find in the following pages the fruit of my study.

May God bless you as you read it!

Enjoying The Choice of Your Marriage Partner

Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(3 copies available)
141 pages.
Many marriages end in divorce, and even those that do not end in physical separation are largely broken. Many people are just managing to keep it up because the laws of society demand it, or because of the children. Many people discover in the marriage relationship that they made a tragic mistake. They married the wrong person. They made an irreversible mistake in their choice.
The crucial prerequisite for a happy marriage is that both parties be in the center of God's will for them; that they be rightly related to God, understand what God wants marriage to be, and be committed to that purpose. It also demands that the partners know themselves, know what they want in the partner, look for the right person and make the right choice. After the choice has been made, the relationship needs also to be rightly handled for it to truly succeed.
We believe that God meant marriage to be a wonderful experience - a foretaste of heaven on earth. We believe that He has the right partner for you and that if you co-operate with Him, you will find that partner and be truly blessed. The question is, "Who is that partner? How can I find him/her? How can we carry out our relationship so that it remains a blessing?" This book will tell you.

Enjoying the Married Life

Enjoying The Married Life
Marriage was meant to be a wonderful experience. It was meant to be a kind of "heaven on earth." However, for many people it has turned out to be "hell on earth." Professor Fomum, author of this book, believes that the good marriages can be made better and the bad ones made good.
After many years of ministering emotional healing in his "clinic for spiritual diseases", Professor Fomum outlines many factors that contribute to making the married life enjoyable. They include:
1. The fundamental problem and the lasting solution.
2. Sexual matters.
3. Money matters.
4. Children in marriage.
5. Servants in the marriage home.
6. Relatives and the married life, and other topics.
The topics discussed in this book make it important for husbands and wives, children and servants, relatives and everybody. It is also good. reading for those who intend to be married some day. It is an ideal gift to your parents, children^ servants, relatives and friends.
About this book Processor J. Mbafor, pastor of a mega church in Yaounde, said, "This book is light. If you got married in darkness, read it; it will help your marriage to come out of darkness"

Although the fourteen books in this series are complimentary and help the reader to have a more complete view of the theme, each book is complete in its won right and should be read for the profit of it. Although the books are rooted in the Word of God, they are written, not merely to help readers to know God's point of view on the issues discussed, but also to lead the believer beyond theoretical understanding into spiritual experience, for sanctification is ultimately not merely a doctrine but an experience.

My prayer for you is that, the One who chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him" (Ephesians 1:4), should work mightily in you as you read, working in you and through you, so that you may enter into and make progress in the life of sanctification.

May the Lord bless you exceedingly.

Chapter 1
COME OUT OF HIDING
"Where art thou?" Genesis 3:9.
The first question that God ever asked of man to recorded in Genesis 3:9. "Where art thou?" God asked the question of Adam on the evening of that awful day of the first sin. The voice of God in its majesty rolled down the avenues of the Garden of Eden. Until that day, the voice of God had been the sweetest music to Adam. He knew no greater joy than that of glad communion with his Creator and his heavenly Father. But now all was different. As the voice of God was heard in the Garden, Adam was filled with fear and tried to hide himself.
That is the history of every son of Adam from that day until now. Every sinner is trying to hide from the presence and the all-seeing eye of God. That accounts for a large share of the scepticism, agnosticism, and atheism of our day. It is sinful man trying to hide from a holy God.
True Reasons For Unbelief
Men will give you many reasons why they are skeptics, agnostics, or atheists. But in the majority of cases, the real reason is this: sinful men hope to hide themselves from the discomfort of God's presence by denying that He exists. That also accounts for much of the neglect of the Bible. People will tell you that they do not read their Bibles because they have so much else to read or because they are not interested in the Bible. They declare that it is a dull and stupid book to them. But the true cause of man's neglect of Bible study is this: the Bible brings God near to us as no other book does, and men are uneasy when they become conscious of the presence of God. Therefore, they neglect the book that brings God near.
This also accounts for much of the absenteeism from the house of God and its services. People will give you many reasons why they do not attend church. They will tell you they cannot dress well enough to attend church or that they arc too busy and too tired. They will complain that the services are dull and uninteresting. But the reason why men and women, old and young, are habitually absent from church is because the house of God brings God near and makes them uncomfortable in sin.
No man ever succeeded in hiding from God. God said to Adam, "Where an thou?" Adam had to come from his hiding place to meet God face to face and make full confession of his sin. Sooner or later, no matter how carefully we hide ourselves from God, every man and woman will have to come from their hiding place and meet Him face to face. They will have to make a full declaration of exactly where they stand in His presence.
God puts the question of the text to every Christian and to everyone who is not a Christian. "Where art thou?" Where do you stand concerning spiritual and eternal things'' Where do you stand concerning God, heaven, righteousness, Christ, and eternity? "Where an thou?"
Knowing Where You Stand
Every truly intelligent person desires to know just where he is. Every wise businessman desires to know where he stands financially. In our country, every careful businessman periodically takes an inventory of his stock, examines his accounts, finds out precisely what are his credits and debits, and how much his assets exceed or nil below his liabilities.
He may discover as a result of his scrutiny that he does not stand as well as he thought he did. If that is true, he wants to know it in order that he may conduct his business accordingly. Many have failed in business through unwillingness to face facts and find out just where they stood.
I knew a very brilliant businessman who was truly gifted in a certain type of business enterprise. But his affairs got into a tangled condition. His wise business friends came to him and advised him to go through his books and find out just where he stood. They said to him, "If you are in bad shape, we will help you out."
But the man was too proud to take their advice. He was too proud to admit that his business was in danger of failure, so he refused to look-into it. He resolutely tried to plunge through. But instead of plunging through, he plunged into utter financial ruin. Although he was an exceptionally brilliant man in some areas, he experienced complete financial shipwreck. He never got on his feet again. When he died he did not have enough money to pay his funeral expenses, simply because he was not willing to humble his pride and face facts.
Many people are too proud to face the fact that they are morally and spiritually bankrupt. So they are going to grit their teeth and plunge through. They will plunge into utter and eternal ruin.
Every man warns to know where he stands physically. He wants to know the condition of his lungs, heart, stomach, and nerves. He may be worse off than he thinks he is. He may think his heart is sound when it is defective. But he wanes to know it, because then he will not subject it to the strain that he otherwise would. Many lie in a premature grave who might be doing good work on earth because they were not willing to find out what their real condition was and act accordingly.

Holy Spirit Revivals

Charles Finney
(0 copies available)
319 pages.
INTRODUCTION
Charles Grandison Finney was a man with a message that burned through the religious deadwood and secular darkness of his time. He had the ability to shock both saint and sinner alike. Because he was radical in both his methods and his message, Finney was criticized for almost everything except being boring. Even so, Finney's sermons and writings continue to reappear to each new generation of young Christians as a fresh challenge to holiness and spiritual awakening.
Finney was nearly thirty years of age before he turned from his skepticism regarding Christianity and wholeheartedly embraced the Bible as the true Word of God. He gave up his law profession in order to spread the Gospel, and he soon became the most noteworthy revivalist of the nineteenth century. Finney's travels as an evangelist were largely concentrated in upstate New York, which he refers to here as “the West,” but his ministry extended into other northeastern states and even as far as England. It is estimated that over 250,000 souls were converted as a result of his preaching.
The following pages contain Finney's personal record of the many revivals that he witnessed during his lifetime. His complete memoirs were published by the trustees of Oberlin College in 1876. The theological ideas that Finney originally presented here have been abridged, and an elaboration of these ideas can be found in the book God in You, also published by Whitaker House.
The substance of Finney's dealings with sinners was “to make them understand that God required of them then to yield themselves entirely to His will, to ground their weapons of rebellion, to submit to Him as their rightful Sovereign, and to accept Jesus as their only Redeemer.” Accordingly, it is right to say that Finney's focus was always upon the hearts of his fellowmen, and his ever present wish was that all might be saved and “come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Tim. 2:4).

BOOK 15 You Can Lead Someone to Christ Today

What is success in the Christian Life? Success in the Christian life is for an individual to be all that God saved him for and all that God wants him to be. The one who wants to be successful must, therefore, discover that which the Lord saved him for and wants him to be, and accomplish it. In order to do this, he must find out the overriding purpose of God for his life and do it. He must set that purpose as the one goal of this life and then put all of himself and all that he has into accomplishing it.

God did not save you so that you should waste your life in purposelessness. He saved you with a particular goal in view. Seek that goal and accomplish it, and then you will be successful. This book is on how to succeed in the Christian life by accomplishing the call of God on your life. Read it and discover how to be successful. Put it into practice and be successful.

We send this book out with prayer that it should help the people of God to come out of mediocrity through purposelessness into spiritual success through goal-directedness.

Jesus Loves You and Wants To Heal You

This book is for you!
The Lord Jesus loves you and wants to heal you! God wants you to be healed and to remain in perfect health. Your diseases are the works of Satan.
This book is not written to attack the modern practice of medicine. We thank God for modern medicine and all that it is doing to relieve pain.
However, without the touch of God, medicine cannot heal. God is the Healer. Jesus is the Healer. He can work through modern medicine and He can work without medicine. He is not limited. He is God. You can turn to Him and be healed of your diseases and when doctors tell you that your case is hopeless, God remains your hope. Turn to Him and receive your miracle from Him.
You may want me to stand with you in prayer and fasting for your healing. I will gladly do so. Please read this book and act on its message. When you have received your healing, write and share it with me so that together, we may praise the Lord who has healed you.
God bless you abundantly.
Yours sincerely,

Moving God Through Prayer

Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(4 copies available)
185 pages.
Dynamics of “Thy Will Be Done”
If you have progressed in the “school of calloused knees” from pre-occupation in prayer for personal needs to interceding for the needs of others, you are ready to graduate into the mature believer's prayer priority – that God's needs be met.
Yes, “God's needs” or concerns. Dr. Fomum devotes this volume to enlarging and deepening (or is it heightening?) the prayer warrior's target. “Every true prayer ought to begin in the heart of God,” writes the author.
This volume in the Prayer Power series seeks to advance the intercessort closer to the springs of true prayer: seeking to know God's will and then interceding for it to be done for His name and His kingdom's sake.
In his usual systematic style, drawing on the Scriptures and lessons learned from practice, Professor Fomum explores the dunamics of the priorities set out in the Lord's prayer: God's name, God's kingdom, God's will.
Are you ready to move on and up in your prayer and intercessory ministry? Are you equipped to lead your prayer group to greater heights? This book will meet your needs and help you help God meet His.

Many believers have backslidden. Some have turned away completely while others have turned away only in small degrees. Mny will honestly say, "I have lost that love which I first had for the Lord." Many are prepared to say that, but they are not willing to take radical steps to put things right. They see the need to repent; they desire to repent, but they do not repent, for they do not pay the price of repentance.
We believe, however, that there are some who truly hunger for the Lord and desperately want to come out of their backsliding and walk in close proximity with Him. It is for such people this book has been written.
May the Lord cause this book to fall into the hands of those who need it and that He should revive such ones and bring them into His glory.

Praying With Power

Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(5 copies available)
235 pages.
I have always known the Lord Jesus prayed. Recently, I have been meditating from the gospel of Luke. It is then that I was taken aback by the prayer life of the Lord Jesus. His whole life was taken up by prayer. He lived in the Father's presence. His life was spent in prayer. He occasionally came away from praying to carry out some task that was assigned to Him by the Father and went back to prayer as soon as the task was completed.
I have been deeply moved by the quality and the quantity of the Lord's prayers. He just prayed. It is obvious from the way He prayed that He understood that everything depended on prayer.
I am convinced that the Lord Jesus understood the true value of prayer. That value was reflected by how much He prayed. I am also now more aware that through a special activity of the Enemy, the church has been blinded from seeing prayer as the Father sees it and seeing prayer as the Son saw it. This blindness seems total in some quarters and is certainly partial in all others.
As a people of God in the city of Yaounde, our eyes are beginning to be opened to the importance of prayer. This has resulted in individual prayer crusades - prayer crusades of two, four, six people and prayer crusades of the House Churches. This has also resulted in the seven prayer chains that are scattered in this city where people are keeping prayer vigils round the clock - twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
We believe that this is only the beginning. Our eyes are only partially open because there is yet only limited burden that leads to heart-rending before God and heaven-storming in prayer. We plead with the Lord that He would open our eyes so that we might see more clearly the critical importance of prayer. We also pray that He would open our eyes to how late the hour is. We pray that He would teach us and enable us to pour out our all in prayer, to convert sleeping time into prayer time; to convert every available minute into prayer time. We pray also that He would enable us to handle the practical aspects of prayer to the best advatange, for a well-equipped but poorly organized army might yet suffer serious loss.
There are other things that ought to have been included in this book. We hav thought it best to leave some of them for subsequent books that, by God's grace, will follow.
The substance of these messages was first given to leaders of House Churches in the city of Yaounde and around. And the time of delivery it was not intended that these messages would become a book but the Lord has willed it to be so. As a companion volume to this book is the next book in this series, The Phenomenon of Prayer. Both series of messages were given at the same time. We would have liked to make both into one book but there was a problem of size. If you have read this message and been blessed, you will want to read the next book in the series. You will also find that you need the material in the first four books to come to grips with the themes of prayer, fasting, and intercession.
A book on prayer is not a novel. It cannot be read with ease or in one go. It has to be taken in small bites. I suggest that you should first read the book quickly through and then come back for a slower reading in which you take a bite at a time. I have established the habit of having a good book on prayer on the table or near the bed. I always carry one with me. As I read small portions from books like those by E.M. Bounds, I am stirred to pray. You too might find the habit beneficial. You may find that one of the books or some of the books in this series are a blessing to you.
The Lord was in the Ministry of Praying. He also taught His disciples how to pray. You and I should go and do likewise and we shall indeed be blessed and, above all, the Lord's name shall be glorified.
Amen.

Rees Howells Intercessor: The Welsh Coal miner a Prince with God

Norman Grubb
(0 copies available)
283 pages.
Back Cover
This child of a Welsh mining village, leaving school at twelve, working in tin-mill and coal-mine, is perhaps best known as the founder of the Bible College of Wales. He was a man peculiarly taught of God; one who learnt the Bible as the Spirit made him live it. Every chapter in this biography is full of drama and light as Rees Howells faced the implications of an entire surrender, learnt to love the unlovely, found the key to prevailing prayer, became the channel of a mighty revival in Africa, was taught the principles of divine healing, and progressed ever further in faith until world events were being affected by his prayers. We are bold to say that, by this man's life, the Church of Christ is being retaught truths of the Spirit and the Scriptures which we have never heard put just like this before; yet the story is told with simplicity, humanity and humour enough to enthral! any reader.
________________________________________
Chapter One
EARLY YEARS
Rees Howells was born on October 10, 1879, the sixth of a family of eleven. The little white- washed cottage still stands on the Llandilo Road, in the mining village of Brynamman. South Wales, where Thomas and Margaret Howells brought up their three girls and eight boys. It is a wonder that the little home could contain them!
It was a hard struggle in the early years. Rees's father had employment in the iron works, and afterwards in a coal mine. His wages, the sole source of income for the family, was the handsome sum of 2s. 3d. or 2s. 6d. a day, and sometimes, when a strike was on, there would be nothing at all, and no Unemployment Benefit. In later years he opened a little shop in the village for the sale and repair of shoes, and things became easier as the older children left school and went to work.
But they were a happy family, for godliness and love were pre-eminent in the home. His mother's love was one of the deepest impressions on Rees's young life, especially as he watched her ceaselessly nursing one of the three little members of their circle who were later taken from them. As for the proud father, a visitor one day puzzled young Rees by looking round on ail the children and exclaiming to his father, "How rich you are!" "How could he say you are rich?" Rees asked him later. "Well, how much would I sell you for?" answered his father. "For £1.000? Or would I sell John, David or Dick for £1,000 each? That's how rich I am!"
Most of the children started work in the local tin mill, at the bottom of the valley below the village. The only education they had was in the one village school. They were not supposed to be employed before they were thirteen years old, but when Rees was only twelve and was taking food down to his brothers in the mill, the manager asked him one day if he would like to do a little work. His name would not be on the pay roll, but he would give him a wage and put it down in the name of his brother Moses. So Rees's schooling ended at twelve, and the next ten years were spent in the tin mill, where he was considered a good worker. His job claimed him for twelve hours a day, rising at 6 a.m. and not returning home till nearly 6 p.m.
Both Rees and his brothers felt their need for further education and attended night classes weekly in the village school. In those days there was no such thing as a library in the village; the only reading centre was a little newspaper shop, where for a penny a month they couid go and read the newspaper or borrow a book. By these means two of his brothers passed several examina- tions, John, the eldest, joining the Railway Company. and Dick becoming a colliery manager. Rees himself did not take up any specific line of study, but he did show signs of organizing capacity! When his mother would give the boys odd jobs to do, the others would each do their own, but Rees would usually manage to get about half a dozen of his friends to help him and then ask his mother to give them all dinner! She must have wondered if it was worth asking Rees to do a job!
The generosity, which was such a marked characteristic of his later life, was also to be seen in his boyhood days. He would give all he had away. One of his brothers tells how a customer came into the shop to buy some shoes, when his father was absent. The customer tried to persuade this brother to reduce the price from 3s. 9d. to 2s. 6d., but he refused. A few days later she called in and told the story to his father, giving a description of "the salesman", which could fit either Rees or the brother. It didn't take the father a second to choose, for he knew Rees couldn't have refused her!
Rees developed a fine physique, and was interested in physical training. He brought home dumb-bells, boxing gloves, and so on, and took his brothers on in friendly fights. A healthy appetite accompanied a healthy body. Dick and Rees arrived back late some nights from their various occupations. If Dick came in first, so the story goes, his mother who had gone upstairs would call down. "Is that you, Dick? Help yourself to a piece of tart." But if Rees preceded Dick, his mother would call down, "Is that you, Rees? There's a tart on the table. Leave a piece for Dick"!
But outstanding from Rees's earliest days was his consciousness of God. It seemed as if an invisible Presence overshadowed him from birth, the One who, as with Paul, separated him from his mother's womb and called him by His grace. In this respect Rees's grandparents were the most powerful influence on his early years. Their home was another little white-washed cottage, called Pentwyn, up on the Black Mountain, and to cross their threshold, Rees said in later years, was to pass from earth to heaven. They had been converted in the 1859 Revival, and Rees always believed that their bless- ing came down to him. Something drew him in that little home: "God was its atmosphere," he would say. He loved the walk from his own home down in the Amman Valley, up through the fields, leaving the houses behind one by one, until an iron gate clanged behind him, and he was out in the silent spaces of the mountain slopes, which in future years were so often to be his trysting place with God, where the only sounds that disturbed the stillness were the song of the lark, the occasional bleating of sheep, and the music of the tumbling mountain stream.
Over the crest young Rees would go, down the other side, with the eight miles of green Welsh valley spread out before him, till he reached his loved Pentwyn, perched on the steep slopes, where the moorland gave place again to hedges and fields; and as he crossed the threshold, he would usually hear the sound of his grandmother's voice reading the Bible to his invalid Uncle Dick. It reminds us of another young lad who probably spent many an hour on another Black Mountain, KaraDagh, with Lystra at its foothills, where young Timothy was also brought up under the godly influence of his "grandmother Lois and his mother Eunice."
Indeed, the young men of Bible times, like Joseph and David, who feared and served God from their boyhood days, had a great influence on Rees. His wise father had brought the children up on the Bible stories; Rees's earliest memories were of those evening readings and their effect on him. The story of the Saviour, His birth and life and death, stood out above all others, and kept him from ever taking His name in vain or daring to sin against Him.
Even the normal pleasures of the world had no attraction for him. He would walk miles to hear someone preach and bring him "under the influence of God," but he "wouldn't cross the road to hear a concert." Only once did he even attend a football match. As the crowd were "shouting and bawling" around him, he felt it was not the place for him, and vowed that, when he got his feet out of it, he would never go to such a place again. He never did.
The Apostle Paul makes that striking statement about serving God, as did his forefathers, with pure conscience, and Rees seemed another example of it. "I didn't run into sin," he said years later. "There was always a restraint on me. It seems that some people are much more sensitive than others, even before conversion. I marred my conscience once, when my father sent me to deliver some shoes to a customer, and I asked him for 1s. lOd. when the correct price was 1s. 9d., and spent the penny on apples. Although I confessed my sin to my father, I never got that out of my mind, especially when I saw apples! I had marred my conscience. Of course, because it had that effect on me, it kept me from anything bigger." But it also had another effect, from which he had to be disillusioned later, for he added, "I thought in those days that probably I had been born with a good nature!"
He became a member of the chapel at thirteen, resolving, according to the light he then had. that he must now "live up to the teaching of the Saviour." He got this idea from reading Sheldon's book, In His Steps, only to find out later, of course, that he couldn't do it.
Contact with the other young fellows in the tin mill did not alter his tastes. Swansea was only about twenty miles away, but "city life, a superficial life, never ap- pealed to me," he said. "It was no test to me not to go to a theatre; I didn't like such places. I was at home in the chapels and prayer meetings. Nature, the hills and valleys and running streams appealed to me. Sunday mornings were wonderful times to me: such a hush and peace over everything. I felt I could face God every night, because I lived such a clean, pure life, and there were hundreds in Wales who lived like that."
Quiet, good living, hard working, there was not much to attract attention to this young Welsh lad or to inspire prophecies for the future, except perhaps an unusual piety, which might be strange to English eyes, though maybe not to Welsh. But is it not God who turns the ordinary into the extraordinary when He is given a chance?

BOOK 01 The Use of Time
BOOK 02 Retreats for Spiritual Progress
BOOK 03 Personal Spiritual Revival
BOOK 04 Daily Dynamic Encounters with God
BOOK 05 The School of Truth
BOOK 06 How to Succeed in the Christian Life
BOOK 07 The Christian and Money
BOOK 08 Deliverance from the Sin of Laziness
BOOK 09 The Art of Working Hard
BOOK 10 Knowing God: The Greatest Need of the Hour

BOOK 11 Restitution: An Important Message for the Overcomers

The thought of many is that when a person is saved, God forgives him and wipes away all the consequences of his past sins – that he is free. His freedom is so complete that he has no responsibility to rightly terminate with the past and to carry out restitutions to those he wronged then. This book clearly examines that way of thinking in the light of the Scriptures and sets out the Biblical message for those who have overcome and those who want to overcome.

If you do not want to reassess your life in the light of the Word of God, we recommend that you should forget this book completely and not bother read it at all, for if you read it, you may find out that you have to carry out revolutionary restitution that will bring you to the crest of the wave of the Holy Spirit’s move.

If you are an overcomer, or desire to become one, this is your book. May the Lord bless you as you read it.

We send this book out with prayer that the overcomers, in reading it, would become more conformed to their soon-coming Lord.

PREFACE

I am burdened by the increasing numbers of believers who know the Lord very superficially. They do not love Hum. They find the time spent in His presence uninteresting. Often they do not know what to say to Him.

We live in a generation that does not provide for quiet. Everything is moving fast. There is so much activity going on. The leaders of the day, be they in worldly circles or in the Church, are activists. Those who withdraw to wait on God are few.

We believe that when believers in an increasing number begin to withdraw and spend time alone in God’s presence something will happen to them. They will know God and then they will seek Him ore and more. They will serve Him from His presence and things will be different. They will make spiritual progress.

We send out this small book with prayer that the Lord will use it to help some make spiritual progress by withdrawing to seek God, know Him and obey him.

If you have been blessed through reading this book, please help put a copy in the hands of another believer and pray that he, too, will be blessed.

Spiritual Aggressiveness

SPIRITUAL AGGRESSIVENESS
Burdened with the need for competent and aggressive workers in the field for a growing work, Professor Zacharias Tanee Fomum gave these talks on SPIRITUAL AGGRESSIVENESS to about 250 leaders from eight nations, during a leadership training course.
This course, which was on "Spiritual Leadership in the Pattern of Joshua", took place in Lagos, Nigeria, during a period of five days from Wednesday 14th to Sunday 18th August 1996.
In this book, Professor Fomum covers topics like:
1. Greatness Through Might in Character and Might in Deeds;
2. Breaking New Barriers with Total Violence;
3. Marriage to Hardwork;
4. Team work;
5. Radical Holiness for Spiritual Service;
6. Aggressive Servanthood;
7. Bleeding Pursuit of God;
and many others.
The messages are written just as they were spoken, having been compiled from notes taken during the course, with very limited editing by the author. They have maintained their freshness and their sharpness.
Contributions from various workers from the field make this book a very practical book on missions.
Read it. You will be blessed.
You will be challenged to become the type of leader that is needed for the Lord's flock on the eve of His imminent return.

Prayer
Unless the prayer life of an individual is revived and kept vigorous, all that may be happening in his spiritual life may be just activities of the soul life, which are bound to be short-lived before the man and of no consequence at all before God.
1. Prayer is the most important work on earth.
2. Prayer is very hard work.
3. Prayer is the greatest thing that anyone can do on earth to advance the interest of God, the Church, man, and himself.
4. Prayer is the rail on which the locomotive of God's power moves.
5. A man is only as spiritual and only as important before God as his prayer life is.
6. Prayer is the greatest power in all the world.
7. Prayer has more power locked up in it than the atomic bomb.
8. Prayer is the one thing that puts the devil's kingdom into confusion.
9. God's ablest soldiers are those who pray.
10. Prayer is the priority of spiritual people.
11. Prayer is the way to God's heart.
12. God has committed Himself to answer all prayers that are in His will and that flow forth from pure hearts.
13. Praying people have more power over nations than heads of states.
14. The world is controlled by praying believers.
15. A prayer meeting of Spirit-filled believers has more power over the affairs of the world than the United Nations Security Council
16. One praying man can change a life, family, city, nation, and continent.
17. All people are open to being controlled by prayer. They all yield to the power of prayer even if they do not want to.
18. Men are powerless against the prayers of holy, consecrated people.
19. All things are possible to the one who prays.
20. Praying saints know nothing that is impossible with God.
21. People who pray never accept a no. They press on with God until their request is granted.
22. Prayer is more important than preaching.
23. Prayer is more important than writing books.
24. Prayer is more important than evangelism.
25. Prayer is more important than teaching the Word.
26. Prayer is more important than helping the poor.
27. Prayer is more important than every other thing in the Christian life.
28. Prayer is the priority of priorites.
29. Prayer is the one thing that Satan dreads.
30. The most important preoccupation of Satan is stopping the saints from praying.
31. Character is more easily changed by prayer than by all else.
32. World peace will be accomplished faster by prayer than by human peace efforts.
33. The unity of the church is maintained more by prayer than by talking, boards, and resolutions.

The Dignity of Manual Labor
Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(5 copies available)
124 pages.
There are people who consider that working with the hands is inferior work and that such work should be reserved for those who cannot do anything else. Because of this way of thinking, many who could invest their lives usefully doing some manual labour run away from it, or do it with shame and a sense of failure.
Is manual work for inferior people?
Is manual work for failures?
For startling answers to these questions, we encourage you to read this book.
God bless you as you read!

The Making of Disciples
Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(3 copies available)
197 pages.
In 1973, while I was a lecturer at Makerere University, Kampala in Uganda, the attention of my wife Prisca was drawn at 10 a.m. one morning to a crying baby girl in a gutter, not far away from our house which was located at about one hundred metres from one of the female Halls of Residence. The baby was probably born to a student who did not want her and so threw her away. My dear wife picked her up, cleaned her, named her Lydia and rushed her to Sanyu Baby Home. A few days afterwards we went to check on her and were deeply grieved to hear that she had died. Those hours, the first of her life, that were spent in the gutter, without any care, had caused her infections that proved fatal. I have not been able to forget the incident. I have seen many people take decisions at evangelistic meetings and through personal witnessing. The truth is that very few of those people have continued in the Christian Way. Of those who have continued, only a few have matured rapidly to begin to minister to the Lord and to others. I, however, found that those who spent the most time with me seemed to make more rapid progress because they were recieveing ministry all the time.
I knew a missionary. He was a dear man of God and full of zeal. He preached everywhere for about nine years in a certain denomination. When he was forced by circumstances to return to his country, he left no team behind to continue his work. The evangelistic team that he had started "died" with his departure. Had he been successful?
I know another missionary who was also keen on winning souls. He started an evangelistic centre. The Lord began to bless it. I even preached once in that centre. There were at least 300 people there that night. Forty-six people came forward to make a commitment to Christ. Then he left. Six months after he had left, the attendance dropped to 50, and within one year that centre was closed. It has not been reopened for five years. Was he successful?
I was the evangelist in an evangelistic campaign in our centre. The Lord moved that night. About 80 people came forward to receive the Lord. I asked the counsellors to come forward and consel these people into the Kingdom of God. Twenty people came up quickly. Then another ten came up reluctantly. Then I was left on the stage with about 50 people with no more counsellors coming forward. There were at least 1000 believers in the assembly and at least 800 of them were present that night. The 80 deacons and deaconesses in the assembly had each counselled a number of people in the last four weeks and their hands were full with young converts. They did not feel that they should come and counsel some more, since that would mean that they could not give all of them individual attention. Why did none of the other 720 believers who were present come up? When I finally spoke sternly, some more of the deacons and deaconesses came up joylessly. It was a bad evening even though God had moved. Had I been successful in building up the assembly? God had used me to get it started, but what had I done? I had filled it with babies. Many had their heads filled with good teaching, but I had failed to teach them to make disciples. Sure enough, many were mature and others were maturing in the Christian Way. However, I failed not only to teach them to be disciples, but also to make disciples. The Lord had commanded me to make disciples who would make disciples. I was to teach disciples to mature and make other disciples. I was to encourage disciple-makers to become makers of disciple-makers. I had been unfaithful in making disciple-makers. I had failed the Lord.
This book is an attempt to meet the need of the call of the Lord to make disciples who will make disciples, who will make disciples, etc.
Some of us have been attempting to practise what is written here for the last two years. This book is written with some of the problems that we have encountered in mind, and we have tried to incorporate what we think are the answers to some of these problems in the writing of the book. We are still labouring at some of the problems. We welcome criticisms and suggestions.
The task of making disciples who will in turn make disciples and so on, is far from easy. However, the difficulties and the problems involved do not invite anyone to run away from the task. That would be running away from a command of the Lord.
We feel that rather than run away from the task, we should commit ourselves to it, really work at it, make mistakes, learn from them, and continue. We belive that if the Lord asked that disciples should be made who will make other disciples, then the general siguation that exists in the chuches today where most members cannot lead someone to the Lord and build him up, where everything is being carried out by a few who are tired and broken, is abnormal. This abnormality can only be corrected by a return to obeying the command of the Lord the way He meant it to be. The apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers are to equip the saints for the work of ministry. All the saints are to be in the ministry and are all to be equipped for the work. All the saints are to be actively involved in the work of building up the body of Christ. No spectators are permitted in the Church. No dwarfs (people who after many years in the Lord remain babies to be fed and do not become adults to minister to others) are permitted in the Church.
If all the disciples in the Church Universal take their call to become disciples seriously and commit themselves, not only to be disciples, but also to make disciples who will in turn make disciples, we should soon see the whole world invaded with the gospel, and then, "The King will come."
We recommend that you read the entire book before you start to raise qustions or objections. That is an honest approach. Some of the questions that may be raised earlier on in the book are answered in latter chapters. If you have made disciples who have made disciples, by some other methods, please write to us.
We send this book out with prayer that the One who commanded that disciples be made should use it and, by the power of the Holy Spirit, contribute to the making of disciples who will make disciples.
Lord Jesus, ignore the faults and failures of the author of this book. Lord, ignore the faults in the presentation and bless this message for the glory of Your holy Name.

The Ministers and the Ministry of the New Covenant
Zacharais Tanee Fomum
(7 copies available)
199 pages.
The message in this book, were given to brethren from all over Cameroon in Yaounde at a critical point in the work. There was a real increase in numbers of those who were turning away from their sins and becoming new creatures in Christ. Many young people were beginning to receive ministry gifts and to minister in the churches. There was a need for a fresh look at the ministry and the ministers as revealed in the New Covenant.
It was obvious then and remains obvious that the ministry depends on the type of ministers that are available to the Lord. There must be a radical separation from self and sin and a radical surrender to the Lord Jesus before anyone can honestly begin any ministry to the Lord and His body.
The extent to which the minister dies to himself is the extent to which life will be produced in others. Those who hold themselves back also hold themselves back from the ministry of life.
May the Lord reach out to you as you read the book, and may you be brought into fresh union with Him.

The Ministry Of Fasting
Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(2 copies available)
256 pages.
Some years ago, the satanists of Southern Africa fasted for forty days. During those forty days, they made only one request to their father "who art in hell." That request was: "Destroy the marriages of Christian leaders." So mighty was the power released by the fast and the corresponding answer to their prayer that billions of demons were released to attack the marriages of Christian leaders in all corners of Planet Earth. The mates of some leaders died suddenly, with devastating effects on the ministry. Other ministers divorced their wives and married others and continued shamelessly "preaching the Gospel." Others committed fornication and adultery hopelessly. In some cases preachers committed abortion. In some cases, preachers were found to be involved with homosexual sin. Besides these obvious disasters, there were the thousands of homes of Christian leaders where there was no harmony. The marriages were broken long ago, but the couples were managing to stay together under one roof "because of the ministry." The effects of the destruction of the homes of Christian leaders have also extended to the children of these people. Very many do not turn to Christ. Others are thieves, prostitutes, et cetera. One church leader sadly advised visitors to his home to ensure that they left no money in the house and never to leave their doors open. His son was a notorious thief. A young Christian leader once wrote to me to say that he was at his wits' end. The love he had for his wife had died completely. They had been married for two years! Many leaders in Christian circles confessed that they were bound by sexual lust. One confessed that he felt that he had a "demon of lust." It was also reported that one local church in Southern Africa on hearing about the fast of the satanists went on a three-day partial fast to try to counter a forty-day complete fast!
The global consequence of the satanists' fast reminds us that there is tremendous power locked up in man waiting to be released through fasting. The power released could be of the Holy Spirit if the one fasting belongs to the Lord Jesus or it could be satanic if the person belongs to the kingdom of God's enemy. No one given to fasting is quite the same afterwards. All who fast regularly have something of the Lord that their nonfasting brethren do not have. For the same believer, his power over the enemy during periods of frequent fasting is greater than during periods of no fasting or infrequent fasting. It seems that the power released is proportional to the type and length of the fast. More power seems to be released in a three-day absolute fast than in a three-day complete fast, while a three-day partial fast seems to release the least amount of spiritual power of the three types of fasts. Also, it is almost certain that for the same individual, all other things being equal, a forty-day fast produces more benefit in God's Kingdom (and does havoc in the Kingdom of Satan) than a thirty-day fast and thirty-day fast is more consequential than a twenty-day fast.
The Lord Jesus fasted for forty days. Moses fasted for forty days twice; Elijah fasted for forty days. Paul fasted often. The men who have made an impact on the world for God since Bible times all had fasting as part of their spiritual programme: John Tsi, Georgh Whitefield, Tom Rees, and Charles Studd, to name only a few. Even in our day, the men who are truly speaking forth with the voice of God amidst violent opposition, like Leonard Ravenhill, David Wilkerson, Arthur Blessit, are men of fasting.
All these saints have realized the importance of fasting and given themselves to it. We do well to follow in their footsteps. You go and do as they did or are doing.
I am not saying that you do not know spiritual power. I am only saying that regardless of the extent to which you know spiritual power and spiritual authority, there is still more to gain by fasting. You should not leave that extra dose of spiritual power that is released through fasting unexploited.
It was the desire for food that opened the way for sin to enter the world. It will be through the overcomers saying no to the desire for food for some time and seeking God through fasting that there will be a global outpouring of the Holy Spirit that will check the tide of sin that now permeates the world and the church.
There may be reasons why you cannot fast. It may be the lack of a capacity to be separated from food for some days. It may be a disease. It may be fear. Regardless of the reason, it is from the devil. Reject it and begin to fast. You will be blessed. Many others will be blessed.
When you fast, you are fasting for yourself. You are also fasting for the church and for the world. You are also fasting in the interest of the Lord Jesus, and you are fasting against the devil.
My prayer is that you will enroll in the School of Fasting and make progress there. The Lord Jesus was once a student in the school, and He engraved His name there permanently by fasting for the maximum length of time that is allowed for anyone who wants to carry out a normal fast (with only water drunk). I encourage you to enroll at once. God bless you. Amen.

The Ministry of Praise and Thanksgiving
Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(5 copies available)
158 pages.
You may never have thought that praise and thanksgiving to God go together, that they constitute a ministry to the Lord, which he highly values. Professor Fomum examines the Biblical basis for this and much more relating to praise and thanksgiving in this volume.
From the obvious giving of thanks when things go well and praising the Lord in victory the author goes on to teach on "costly" praise and thanksgiving, how to "hallelujah" even when it hurts, which is the best sacrifice to the Lord.
This volume is packed with Biblical case-studies, from a whole section on David to those on Job and the Lord Jesus. Several chapters are very practical: how to set up a daily calendar of praise and thanksgiving; recording the details of one's life for praise and thanksgiving; the power of cold routine!
There is no need to be anxious anymore about the poverty of praise and thanksgiving in your prayer life. The volume in your hands is an answer to your prayers and to Philippians 4:6.

The Ministry of Supplication
Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(4 copies available)
158 pages.
God answers prayers. If people are desperate enough to seek His will, know what He wants and then wrestle to see it come to reality, it will become a reality. Hannah had a problem. Her problem was a kind of national problem becaus the nation desperately needed a prophet, and her first son had to occupy that post and function in that office. Initially, she was complacent in her barrenness, but the ministry of provocation, which she received from Peninnah, stirred her to wrestle with tears, fasting, vowing, more tears, bitterness of soul, anguish of soul, great anguish and great grief, until she moved God to hear her and answer her.
In moving God to provide her need, she also moved God to provide the need of His people.
May the Lord mightily touch you as you read this book! May it move you to abandon all that must be abandoned in order that you may be abundantly fruitful! May your eyes be opened to your potential to execute God's will by seeing His cause, making His cause your cause and asking Him to move through your supplication to make an individual, a family, a town, a nation, nations and continents of the earth your possession for Him!
Glory be to His Name in the highest!

The Power of the Holy Spirit in the winning of the lost to Christ

My son, in Bafia I told you that the problem of the churches was not keeping the Harvest because there was no harvest to keep. Instead of waiting on Me to receive some more, you set out to mobilize and win people to Me. It is good and correct that you should prioritise evangelism, soul-winning and church-planting in your personal life. People are being reached and some of them will become useful members of the churches. However, had you waited on Me in a lengthier way after the Bafia encounter, I would have spoken to you on why there was no Harvest to be kept.

The Practice of Intercession
Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(3 copies available)
313 pages.
This book is a continuation of our other book, The Art of Intercession, which is already in circulation. We had intended to write one book titled The Ministry of Intercession, but we found that what God had to say to us could not be contained in one medium-sized book. We therefore stopped the book at a convenient point and gave the first part the title The Art of Intercession, and this second part, which is more on the practical aspects of the ministry of intercession, we have titled The Practice of Intercession.
There is not much that I want to say about the book before you. I only ask that you read all of it, chapter by chapter. However, I want to share with you what the Lord has done for me in the course of the eighteen months during which I have worked on writing the two books on intercession. By the time I started writing The Art of Intercession, I was praying, on the average, three hours and spending one six-hour period on a prayer chain, a day. By the time I finished the book, I had been forced by the evidence of what I saw in the Bible about intercession, to increase my daily praying to an average of four hours a day and to maintain the six-hour period of praying on the prayer chain. During the ten months in which I have worked on the present volume, my being has been stirred beyond measure to keep on praying. It has meant that this book, which was scheduled to be finished by September last year, has dragged on until today when the last chapter was written. During the last ten months, I have been forced by what I saw in the Bible and by what the Lord spoke to my heart, to work further on increasing the time I spend in prayer to an average of four hours daily, three six-hour periods on the prayer chain, every first week-end of each month given to prayer according to the schedule I have shared with you in this book, and one fifteen-day period of praying ten hours a day. This will be the way I will run my prayer life for the rest of my life.
Prayer is the most important work on earth. Intercessors are the most important people on earth. Today, knowing what I know, if the Lord of the harvest were to leave the choice with me (He has not), I would stop everything else and give myself to eighteen to twenty hours of prayer every day and thereby do the greatest good to the Kingdom of God, the Church, the world, the continent of Africa, this nation, this city, the church of Yaounde, my family, and myself.
God has, however, not left the choice with me. He has called me to do other things in addition to prayer in general and intercession in particular. I will faithfully do these things, but from this day on, I will give prayer a place of priority in my life and ministry. I will pray and I will do everything I can to pray. I will do everything I can to call men, women, and children to pray. I will labour to remove anything in my life that will hinder or weaken prayer. I will pour out my all to God in prayer.
This book is written in such a way that, in a sense, each chapter can be read on its own, for each is fairly complete. However, we plead that each chapter be read so as to have the overall picture. If you can lay hands on our other books, The Way of Victorious Praying, The Ministry of Fasting, The Art of Intercession, and The Way of Christian Service, read them. We believe that God has a message in them that will encourage, bless, and challenge you.
We will be glad to have your reactions to the subject matter in this book.
To the Lord Jesus, the interceding Lord of the Church, may there be glory, honour, majesty, power, and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

The School of Truth
Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(5 copies available)
171 pages.
The Psalmist cried out to God, "Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward being, therefore teach me wisdom in my secret heart" (Psalm 51:6). This book is about the School of Truth. It is about truth in the inward being. It is about truth in the secret heart.
There is much falsehood in the world today. Even in the church, truth is lacking. This is a most serious lack, for it hinders God enormously. God cannot do anything useful through a person who claims to be regenerated and yet continues to practise falsEhood in one area of his life or the other. No one can truly practise truth in one area of his life while deliberately practising falsehood in another. Falsehood must be abandoned completely and radically and truth must be embraced with the total man - spirit, soul, and body. Truth thus embraced will flow from the spirit to the soul and then to the body and from the body it will flow out.
What most believers need today is to cry out to God as the Psalmist did, saying, "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me" (Psalm 51:10). That cry must come from hearts that have seen falsehood for what it is and are desperate to get right with God and remain right with Him. Such will cry out and continue to cry out until God has done that which only He can do to set them free. While they cry out and continue to cry out to Him, they will co-operate with Him by recognizing all the falsehood in their lives, confessing every lie, forsaking every appearance of falsehood, receiving a cleansed heart from the Lord and carrying out the needed restitution. In this way they will enroll in the School of Truth and as they abide in the Lord and continue in that School, more will be shown to them, leading to deeper repentance, and more and more will be done in them, this bringing them into greater conformity to Him who is the Truth, even our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The Secluded Worshipper: The Life, Ministry and Glorification of the Prophetess Anna
Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(4 copies available)
201 pages.
The burden of this book has been on me for many years. I first wrote the accompanying prayer topics about the book I had in mind three years ago, so that my "praying authors" and I the "writing author" might bury the book in prayer before it is written. I had hoped to write the book in 1989, and I did actually attempt to write it then. As I began to write, there were many things that were only truth in my mind and not in my life experience. I consequently stopped the writing of the book, so that I should not write theory. Again in 1990, I fasted and started writing the book, but the Holy Spirit hindered me. Meanwhile my co-workers continued to labour in prayer, and the requirement in prayer hours has been exceeded by a good margin. I am including the prayer topics we wrote for the writing of the book so that you may share our experience.
The Lord has wrought something in my life between 1990 and today, largely in the area of deliverance from sin, deliverance from self, deliverance from the love of the world, deliverance from the love of the things of the world, being filled with the Holy Spirit, and the knowledge of the Lord. I now feel that I can write the book, though with fear and trembling, and not from a position of perfection, but from the position of one who has received unmerited grace to write it.
The Lord is the believer's all. He is the believer's everything. He should be sought, found, known, and loved. He should be made the believer's bliss, and out of that knowledge of Him should flow service that satisfies His heart. God seeks lovers who, out of love, will serve Him, and not just servants who, out of duty, will do many things for Him.
In frequent withdrawals of short and long duration, the hungry soul can seek and find the Lord. This will allow for worship and service for Him. It will also provide for a spirituality in this world that satisfies His heart.
To those who are not too carried away with the superficialities of our generation, we offer this book with prayer that the Blessed Holy Spirit be glad to use it for the glory of the Lamb who even now is ministering from the throne in seclusion. To Him be honour and praise.
There are slight changes in the book here presented from the one that was prayed through. We fell that is how the Lord wants it to be and we give Him praise for that as well.

The Secret of Spiritual Rest
Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(4 copies available)
155 pages.
PREFACE
This book has taken me nearly five years to write. When I first began to think and pray for the book, one of the prayer topics was "Lord, grant that the manuscript be finished by 30th September, 1986. I wrote a bit of it then, but found out that if I continued to write, I would present good theories, some of them which were not true in my life. I decided to wait. I came back to the book in 1988 and made a little progress, but was compelled by honesty to stop the book so that I might only write what, in my experience, was real in my life. The Lord has been very good to me in the last three years. He has led me into the experience of spiritual rest in many dimensions that have included our ministry and my promotion to professorship at the university. One month ago I felt that I could write the book and it would be true. It is as if a heavy burden was upon me to write. Many believers gave themselves to pray unceasingly for me as I wrote.
I was not quite prepared for some of the things that I have seen in these last weeks about the Body of Christ and the need to be at peace with each believer. However, God has led me. My eyes have been opened and, I have begun to carry out the needed restitution. This morning I went out to seek a brother with whom we have had a problem for a long time now. I asked for his forgiveness and he forgave me and we prayed together. He asked God to forgive him for his own wrong went to a second brother, but he was not at home. There is a third brother with whom I will seek to be reconciled this week. I can no longer recrucify the Lord by not removing every barrier that I can remove that stands between me and any one who confesses that Jesus is Lord. I believe that this is only the beginning, and that the Holy Spirit will lead me on and on, until I be able to truly say: "I know no one on earth who confesses that Jesus is Lord to whom I am not in fellowship as far as it depends on me." That is one aspect of spiritual rest. There are other aspects covered in this book.
My prayer for you, as you read this book, is that you be open to the Holy Spirit and that you obey Him wherever He may lead and at any cost.
I commit you to the Lord who said; "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you, not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled; neither let them be afraid." (John 14:27). May you know His peace as you read and also know His peace as you obey. This too is spiritual rest.

The Sin Before You May Lead To Immediate Death: Do Not Commit It!
Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(5 copies available)
175 pages.
This is one of the most serious books I have ever written. If I remember correctly, it is perhaps my seventieth book. It is also a book which is being finished in the month of my twenty-eight spiritual birthday. I am grateful to the Lord that from the depth of my heart, I do now know any sin that I am knowingly committing. I can also say that, by the grace of God, I do now know any plan or plans that I am making, have made or intend to make, there are not resonant with any aspect of the will of God that He has shown to me. By the grace of God, I have covenanted myself solemnly before the Lord that I will not do anything until I have sought His will in the matter and, to the best of my knowledge, I am fully persuaded that that thing is the will of God. In addition to this, I have covenanted myself before the Lord that any moment I find that I have committed or I am committing any sin or doing anything that is out of resonance with the will of God, I will stop it at once and confess what I have done to the Lord God Almighty and to one human being. My prayer is that the Lord should enable me to so walk in all of the future. My prayer is that the Lord should take me higher and higher in the way of sanctification, so that I will experience in an ever-increasing way the perfect sanctification that He purchased for me by the death of His precious Son on the Cross. It is from this spiritual position I have had the courage and peace of mind to write this book.
Often, we hear in the news or read in the papers things like the following:
• “Plane crash, all two hundred passengers and the crew dead”
• “there has been a flood and so many people died”
• “a river overflowed its banks, left so many dead and so many homeless”
• “there has been an earthquake and so many died”
• “in a certain village, a gas from a lake left so many dead; there was a car accident and so many died”
• “a couple was being driven from the marriage ground to their home where an accident occurred and both of them died”
• “so and so died in his sleep”
• “Mr and Mrs X were walking along when someone shot both of them dead”
• “a men fell off the roof and died immediately”
• Mrs Y died in labour”
• Mr N was given an overdose of anaesthetic compound before the operation, such that he never got up”; etc., etc.
Many of these cases are acts of God to handle people who have sinned unto death. There are many such cases in the Bible; since God has not changed, and because people continue to sin unto death, God has continued to act in the same or similar way. Think of what happened to Korah. The Bible says, “And the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them, with their households and all Korah's men and all their possessions. They went down alive into the grave, with everything they owned; the earth closed over them and they perished and were gone from the community. At their cries, all the Israelites around them fled, shouting, 'Ht earth is going to swallow us too!'” (Numbers 16:32-34).
Is this not what earthquakes have done over and over again? Often people have explained the geological implications without confronting the fact that man may be against the hand of God. There have been people who were sick and prayed for healing and many people prayed for them and fasted for their healing. Nevertheless, these people died even through the Lord is the God of healing and answers prayers. One reason why they were not healed is that they might have sinned unto death. If those praying had sought God, they would have saved themselves the waste of their time invested in futile praying. The Bible says: “If anyone sees his brother commit a sin that does not lead to death, he should pray and God will give him life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am no saying that he should pray about that. All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death” (1 John 5:16-17).
There are indications all over the world that the Lord might soon rend the heavens and pour His Holy Spirit upon His children in an unusual way. If these indications are truly pointing to a coming revival, then we should also expect that God is also going to deal with sin the same way as He dealt with it at the beginning when Ananias and Sapphira died for their lying, and Herod was eaten by worms for accepting for himself worship that ought to have been immediately landed at the feet of God. What we are saying is that God will not move in great might and bless His Church without moving in great might to purge it of sin. So, while we wait for God to move, we must move ahead and examine our hearts and lives and get rid of every trace of sin that is in us, so that we may be able to stand in God's coming day.
The Bible says that judgment will start in the house of God. That is true. He will soon deal with those who sin deliberately with utter harshness. You should move ahead of Him and examine yourself and let Him cleanse and sanctify you so that you will not have to perish with the world.
The writing of this book over a period of twelve months, has forced me to reconsider the gravity of sin and to instill in my heart anew the fear of the Lord. I has created in me the desire to put on the total holiness of God, not just so that I should not sin unto death, but so that I should conform to the holiness of Him whom I love. So that writing of this book contributed to my personal sanctification and personal consecration to the Lord more than any other thing I know of. I will be eternally grateful to the Lord for leading me to write this book and, through the writing of it, bringing me to a new level of sanctification and consecration.
I pray that the reading of this book should do the same for you and in you. I pray that it should open your eyes to behold the utter holiness of God, which compels Him to deal with some sins the way that He does, and that in this beholding His holiness, you will not only depart from all sin, but fall down before Him increasingly in unceasing worship and adoration. To the all-holy God – immortal, invisible, God only wise, be honour, adoration, praise and worship, now and forever.
We recommend that you should read this book in thirty-five days, taking one chapter a day. We recommend that you should slowly read the Bible passages at the beginning of each chapter twice before you read what we have written. We recommend that you read each chapter with the prayer: Lord use this book to reveal both your holiness and the sinfulness of sin to me and then enable me to part with all sin forever, because You have given me Your Holy Spirit to live in me.
God bless you exceedingly!

The Sower The Seed And The Hearts Of Men
Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(4 copies available)
96 pages.
"Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, multiplying thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times."
Then Jesus said, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."
When he was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables. He told them, "The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables so that,
" 'they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!'"
Then Jesus said to them, "Don't you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable? The farmer sows the word. Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them. Others, like seed sown on rocky places, hear the word and at once receive it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful. Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop—thirty, sixty or even a hundred times what was sown."
Mark 4:3-20
This parable of the sower was the first recorded parable that the Lord spoke. It must have been on His heart in a special way. Three of the gospel writers - Matthew, Mark and Luke - recorded it in detail. I think that its message was one that the Lord very much wanted to communicate to those who came after Him, and also to us today.
The parable talks of a sower who went out to sow. The sower was one person. In fact, the Sower is God. The seed is the gospel. We can at once see that the Sower did not vary and the seed did not vary. Only one thing varied, and that was the type of soil that received the perfect seed that was sown by the Lord.
Because there is one Sower and He sowed the same seed on all the four grounds, all differences as to what happened to the seed that was sown must be attributed to one thing only, and that one thing is the condition of the soil that received the Word.
The different soils represent different conditions of the heart. There are therefore, four conditions of the heart among the sons of men. These are:
The wayside heart,
The stony heart
The thorny heart
The good heart.
Whether a person's heart is wayside, stony, thorny or good, is not decided by the Lord but by each one. God has given each one a heart that can be good, if the person so desires. However, if people prefer to have the other conditions of the heart, God, in His sovereignty, gives them the right to self-determination. God, in His love for man, has decided that He will let man exercise his soverign right as a morally responsible being, to choose the type of heart that he wants. This is one of the greatest manifestations of God's love for man; for true love can never impose or force an undesired thing on the object of love.
As we study the different heart conditions. bear in mind that your heart is what it is because you have made it so. However, you can alter it. You can make your heart into a condition that is different from what it is today. If the condition of your heart is what you do not want it to be, do something about it today and things will be different!
God bless you!

The Use of Time
Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(0 copies available)
158 pages.
Introduction
Time is one of the most precious gifts that the Lord has given man. In giving people the gift of time, the Lord has ensured that no one may consider himself specially favoured or disfavoured. In His wondrous love, God has given the President of a populous nation and a simple street sweeper in that nation, the same number of hours per day: twenty-four. The President has not been given a forty-eight hour day while the street sweeper has been given a twenty-four hour day. God expects the President to faithfully use the twenty-four hour day given to him, to discharge his presidential duties. He also expects the street sweeper to use the twenty-four hour day given to him, to faithfully discharge his duties as a street sweeper.
If God has given people the same length of each passing day, then how do we account for the fact that some people seem to accomplish so much and others so little?
The difference comes in the way people use the twenty-four hours of each day that the Lord has given them. Some sleep for four hours and then carefully invest the remaining twenty hours on the priority issues of their lives, and thus make impact on the world. Others sleep for eight hours everyday, then spend another eight hours doing nothing, because they are plagued with indecision, and the last eight hours are invested in non-essentials. These two groups of people, with twenty-four hour days, are investing them differently and will, consequently, reap different products from their lives.
I had the privilege of being brought up by a father who knew the importance of time and, consequently, used it wisely. When I handed the master key of my life to the Lord Jesus on 1st October 1966, the Word of God came alive in me and the godly principles in which I had been brought up (including the use of time) came alive in me and the Lord has helped me to begin to learn how to use time. At the moment, I am investing an average of 16 hours a day into the service of the Lord and as a University teacher. My goal is that one day, I shall render 18 hours of full serivce to God and man. I am, consequently, only a student in the School of Using Time. Some of the principles shared with you in this book have been applied are being applied in my life for profit. My prayer is that they should be a source of blessing to you.
In writing this book, I have endeavoured not just to give you some formulae or some techniques to apply in your life. Time is a gift from this Lord and its correct use cannot be separated from a deep and increasing knowledge of Him.
The extent to which this book helps you to draw near to the Lord, know Him and use time to accomplish His will, will be the extent to which I consider that writing it has served the Father's interest, and that, to me, is wonderful.
God bless you exceedingly!

Preface
Do you ever feel like life is passing you by in a rush? Does it seem as though you are doing a lot of things but you don't know what you are accomplishing? This is the result of our time using us instead of us using our time.
We should learn to live our lives on purpose and not off purpose.
"The Use of Time" has unveiled a Biblical approach to one's duty and what is needed for a man to do at a time, rather than loitering about and wasting his precious "TIME".
The reader is also guided with Bible principles to make use of time judiciously and to attain the best in life both physical and spiritual in this world.

The Way of Christian Character
Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(4 copies available)
172 pages.
The Lord is deeply concerned about character. It is His primary purpose that those who know Him should be like Him in the content of their character. It is in this sense that we are told of the first apostles that, "He appointed twelve, to be with him, and to be sent out to preach and have authority to cast out demons" (Mark 3:14-15). They were appointed first to be with Him so that, in being with Him, they might become like Him in character and, only secondarily, to be sent out to preach and cast out demons. It can be rightly said that only those who have been with Him and, therefore, put Him on, can be sent out by Him to minister in His name. All who have not been with Him and have, therefore, not put on His character, are excluded from serving Him. The first call of the Lord is that people may come to Him and be changed to be like Him. Ministry is a secondary issue. It is in this wise that the apostle Paul wrote, "My little children, with whom 1 am again in travail until Christ be formed in you!" (Galatians 4:19). Christ formed in the believer = Christian Character.
If a person's life does not resemble that of the Lord Jesus, his service for Him will not mean much. There are many who talk about the Lord today and even attempt to serve Him, but their character speaks against what their lips proclaim. It was said of one preacher that he was as evangelistic as an angel but twice as wicked as the devil. This is most tragic.
There is the gospel that is preached by the lips, but there is another gospel that is preached by character - by life. It is the purpose of GOD that the two "gospels" should become the one Gospel - a presentation of the Lord of glory. Without this gospel preached by word and life, we shall have a hard time in convincing a watching world of the reality of Christ. The world is tired of spoken Christianity that is not backed by life. The truth is that the lives of many believers speak very loudly against the Gospel. Many have looked into the lives of many believers to see discipline, love, tenderness, firmness, etc, which are characteristics of Christ, but have failed to see these traits.
There has been an emphasis on the gifts of the Holy Spirit today in the Churches and even in the world and, to some extent, this is but right, seeing that His gifts were laid aside for too many years. However, let us be aware that gifts are not graces. Balaam continued to prophesy even on the way of disobedience. Samson continued to manifest unusual physical power while manifesting unusual moral powerlessness. Spiritual gifts do not necessarily mean that the person exercising the gifts is spiritual or holy. The Lord warned us when He said, "On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then 1 will declare to them, '1 never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers'" (Matthew 7:22-23).
It is obvious that Christian character is more important than spiritual gifts. However, no one should understand us as saying that spiritual gifts are not to be greatly desired. They have their place in the life and ministry of the believer and the Church, but for sustained ministry before God, both now and in the future, it is character - life, that counts more.
It is sad that it seems quite acceptable in Christian circles that a believer should be undisciplined, self-willed, proud, touchy, dirty, talkative and critical, and yet not be considered sinful, provided he does not commit fornication in action, steal, murder physically, etc. So we have a whole list of sins (the character traits of the devil) that believers commit with a "good" conscience, while claiming to be holy and filled with the Holy Spirit and while maintaining a spirit of high censorship on other believers who are equally as sinful, except that their sins fall into the class of "forbidden" sins.
This message is a heart's cry that all of us who name the name of the Lord should depart not only from the "deeds of darkness," but also from those sins that seem to be acceptable to others but which the Lord hates. May no believer rest until he has fully and wholly put on the character of Christ.
I do not write as one who is already perfect, yet I believe that I have seen the problem and found the answer in the Lord Jesus and, like Paul of old, I am pressing on relentlessly for the mark of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. To this purpose - pressing on to maturity in Christ - I invite all who love the Lord Jesus.

The Way of Christian Service
Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(5 copies available)
171 pages.
This book is about "The Way of Christian Service." Serving the Lord is something that is best begun in His immediate presence. When a person has served Him in His immediate presence and satisfied His heart, He may send such a one to go and serve on His behalf. Serving the Lord in His immediate presence consists essentially in worshipping Him. Of the leaders of the church in Antioch it was said, "While they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, 'Set apart for me Bamabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.' Then after fasting and praying, they laid their hands on them and sent them off" (Acts 13:23). Barnabas and Saul were sent out to serve from the presence of the Lord to the work to which God had called them. They were ministering in His presence when He sent them away to minister on His behalf. All service of the Lord ought to begin that way.
Serving the Lord is invariably tied to resurrection life. No one can truly serve the Lord without that He, the Lord of all glory, has taken the initiative to bring that one into His service. This is so because those who serve Him must know death with Christ and resurrection with Him. Service is the flow of the life of God, and without resurrection life, there can be no flow.
People can do many things in the Lord's name, but only that which flows from life will last, and to have the flow of life there must, first of all, be death. A person will minister in proportion to the extent to which he has died and risen with Christ. Those who spare themselves the hard demands of the cross will find that they have also spared themselves the ministry of life. The extent to which a person surrenders himself to death to the world and the flesh, is the extent to which that one will know resurrection life and resurrection ministry.
There can be a work in might and power that is not fully of the Holy Spirit. Samson ministered in power, although he was out of vital fellowship with the Holy God. God demands holiness from all who would serve Him to His satisfaction.
Finally, we want to say that Christian work is acceptable in His sight and satisfies His heart only to the extent to which it is in harmony with His will and under His direction. Every work that is outside His will and direction is not only useless; it is an abomination to Him.
Too many believers today are doing nothing for the Lord. They are shy and withdrawn and lack boldness and a clear sense of direction. Where are those who would dare to step out at His command and take entire villages, towns, provinces, nations, and continents for Him? Where are those who would seek great things for Him?
My prayer is that the Lord of the harvest should use these messages to raise servants and slaves unto His glorious Son, and that such will start in His presence and, as He directs, end in the uttermost parts of the world.
Lord Jesus, ignore the weaknesses and shortcomings both of these messages and of the human messenger, and use them. Lord, for Your glory. Amen.

The Way of Loving the Lord
Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(5 copies available)
100 pages.
The "Way of Loving the Lord" is very different from many of the books in the series. It is not an attempt to present the Bible position on some aspects of Christian Truth. Rather, it is an expression of the yearning, longing - the spiritual emotions of my heart - after the Lord Jesus.
I believe that there are some who yearn in an increasing way for the Lord, and in those hearts the evidence of his soon coming awakens, with each passing day, greater desires to see him - the Hope of the Ages - face to face. It is because of the presence of such saints in the church today, though their number be few, that I dare share these feelings of my heart in this way.
I send this book out with prayer, that many hearts be touched to seek the Beloved, and that such seekers should pray for me so that the Lord may soon grant the one desire of my heart - to know Him and to see Him face to face.

PREFACE

This book is the second in the Christian Way series. The books in this series are:

Book One THE WAY OF LIFE
Book Two THE WAY OF OBEDIENCE
Book Three THE WAY OF DISCIPLESHIP
Book Four THE WAY OF SANTIFICATION
Book Five THE WAY OF CHRISTIAN CHARACTER
Book Six THE WAY OF SPIRITUAL POWER
Book Seven THE WAY OF CHRISTIAN SERVICE
Book Eight THE WAY OF SPIRITUAL WARFARE
Book Nine THE WAY OF SUFFERING FOR THE LORD
Book Ten THE WAY OF VICTORIOUS PRAYING
Book Eleven THE WAY OF THE OVERCOMERS
Book Twelve THE WAY OF SPIRITUAL ENCOURAGMENT
Book Thirteen THE WAY OF LOVING THE LORD

The truths in Book Two had a very profound effect on my life. Since I received the Lord JESUS as my Savior and Lord, I have felt, in an increasing way, that I was compelled to tell the whole world about His salvation.

When, in 1970, the HOLY SPIRIT came upon me, ministry was given to me by the Lord for His Body. I would never have gone far without that indispensable anointing that took place in the privacy of my room, on a Saturday afternoon, at 5 pm.

When in 1978, I bore testimony to my union with the Lord JESUS in water baptism, I got much of hell into violence, while heaven rejoiced.

In this book, by the grace of God, I present these three basic truths of baptism into water, baptism into the Holy Spirit and witnessing as they are set forth in the Word of God.

This book goes out with prayer that it will bring all twice-born people into obedience on basic issues. May GOD the HOLY SPIRIT lead all its readers into immediate and continuous obedience.

God bless you as you read and obey its contents.

The Way of Spiritual Encouragement

(5 copies available)
100 pages.
PREFACE
These messages that constitute the book, "The Way of Spiritual Encouragement," were written while I was away from Cameroon to seek God's face and sort out many things with Him. They have "been a great blessing to me. I was shocked by what the Lord was saying to me and, by His grace, will say to those He will allow to fead these messages. My own faith in Him grew as I wrote them. I have been deeply comforted to know that God is so good, so loving and so gracious. My desire is to love Him more and more.
I nave received answers to many of my questions, and my problems have found solutions in Him. Somehow in a way I cannot e
xplain, love has welled up in my heart for all His children - my beloved brothers and sisters in Him - irrespective of whatever differences we have had. He has been good to me.
Because these messages were written over a period of ten days, I have not done very much thinking about them. I have just allowed what God has put on my heart to flow out, and sometimes He has been gracious to allow things to flow out which I had never seen.
If you approach them as the sharing of something from my heart to yours, you will, by God's grace, be blessed. If you approach them as talks on doctrine, you may have problems. I suggest that you just open your heart to God and receive what He has for you.
May the Lord God, the Author and Finisher of our faith, be magnified for all the grace that He has shown to me, who am but one of His most undeserving servants.

The Way of Spiritual Warfare
Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(4 copies available)
158 pages.
There is a war in progress between God and His forces on one side, and the devil and his forces on the other side. Whether you like it or not, you are a part of the war. If you have received the Lord Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, God has enrolled you in His army and expects you to fight for Him and with Him. If you have not yet received the Lord Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, then you are on the devil's side, fully registered in his army, even if you have good intentions.
You cannot be neutral. By your every thought, word, and deed, you are helping to advance one of the two sides in the conflict. With your every second, minute, hour, and day, you are either working with God for the advancement of His army and Kingdom or helping the devil, His rival, to build his army and kingdom.
The Lord Jesus won the great victory over the devil and his host on the cross. We are compelled by the very nature of the truth to present Jesus as the Saviour, Teacher, Deliverer, Healer, and Victor.
We send this book out praying that the Lord should use it to raise some more saints who will fight the good fight and satisfy the heart of the Lord.
Lord Jesus, may your kingdom come.

The Way of Victorious Praying
Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(5 copies available)
193 pages.
This book was born out of prayer. The Lord called a few of us aside to pray. Each night, we wrestled in prayer between the ours of 9:00 P.M. and 3:00 A.M. This went on for many weeks. We came to find ourselves blessed, challenged, and purified. We came to see the Lord in a new way and to understand the purpose of our being blessed in a totally new light.
This book was also born out of an experience--an experience of obedience. Some of us were led to obey an obvious command of the Lord, which is clearly written in the Bible and which we had not yet obeyed. That obedience nearly cost us our lives. God honoured that obedience and caused it to lead to the ministries now associated with Christian Literature Center, Yaounde. It also led to the birth of some assemblies which have, by God's grace, grown into praying communities.
The truths charted in this book are coloured by what that local assembly has learnt as it tried, step by step, to follow the praying Lord in the School of Prayer. We have a commitment to prayer, fasting, and evangelism. We are learning and we are growing. Pray for us. Pray with us.
We have come to discover that all things are possible to the praying saint and to the praying body of believers. By Gods grace, we are determined to wipe out the word "impossible" from the life experience of the ministers of the assembly.
Our hearts' desire is that all those who know the Lord Jesus will truly become people of prayer. So we send this book out with prayer that it will help some individuals and some local assemblies to make progress with the Lord in the School of Prayer."
To the Lord Jesus, the praying, supplicating and interceding Head of the Church be untold honour, glory, and majesty forever and ever.

PREFACE

People must be led. When there is a leader, he is followed. The spiritual leader is the one who has made the most progress in knowing God and is serving Him. Such a person has authority with God which no one can take away from him. No one can remove him from leadership. No one can put him into leadership. His intimate knowledge of God his close walk with Him, his sacrificial service for the Lord and His people, put him apart from the others, and those who want true spiritual leadership turn to him. This is my understanding of spiritual leadership.

Since people must be led, they will of necessity be led somewhere. If the leader is going nowhere, the people will follow him to nowhere. If he is going where God wants him to go, people will follow him and by so doing, they will get to the place where God wants them to be.

It is therefore important that the leader sees very clearly where God wants him and the people to go. After he has seen, he must be desperate to get there, not alone but with the people. He must finally move from being desperate to desperate action.

The act of seeing is vision.
The weight to see that which is seen become reality is burden.
The right vision will lead to a burden which must be discharged by action.

In Vision, Burden, Action, we set forth what we believe is a message for the Body of Christy now. We believe that this message is for every believer, and not just for some members of the Body. It is for all current leaders and for all would-be leaders. It is for those who lead millions of people, also for you who are perhaps still leading only one person - yourself.

These messages were first preached in the church over two weekends in 1984. Believers gathered from about ten localities and the Lord spoke and taught them and taught me.

We send them out with prayer that the Lord would use them to bless you very abundantly.

Amen.

Vision, Burden, Action is Book Four in a series of six books on "Leading God's People." The six books in that series are:

1. Spiritual Leadership and the Deliverance of Captives
2. Possessing our Inheritance
3. The Ministry and the Ministers of the New Covenant
4. Vision, Burden, Action
5. The Responsibility of Spiritual Leadership
6. The Cross in the Life and the Ministry of the Believer

My prayer is that the Lord will bless you so mightily and use you for His glory, and that you will find in Him and in His service perfect fulfillment.

Waiting On The Lord In Prayer
Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(5 copies available)
143 pages.
INTRODUCTION
For many believers, prayer is coming to the Lord and throwing as many requests to Him as possible in yhe shortest possible time and then rushing away. The next time, the same process may be repeated with other requests added, while some of the previous ones may be forgotten. This is unfortunate.
God ordained prayer primarily so that His needs be met. In the prayer that the Lord Jesus taught his disciples, the priority of prayer was to be His Name, His Kingdom, and His Will. "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And leads us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one." (Matthew 6:9-13). If the priority in prayer are His name, His kingdom and His will, then it is obvious that for anyone to pray to the satisfaction of God, that one must come before God and wait before God, so that God should give him revelations as to what the needs of His Name, His Kingdom and His Will are. Until these are revealed by God to man, man cannot pray rightly. After they are revealed to man, man can begin to pray what God would have him pray about. This makes waiting on the Lord in prayer a must; for without waiting on the Lord in prayer there is no other way by which these things can be known specifically.
The other issue is that we do now know what our real needs are. We may think we know what we need, but a closer look will betray our ignorance. Only God knows what our true needs are. Face with the issues of choosing a wife or a career, we have to face the fact that although we may know what we need now, we do know know what we shall need five, ten, twenty, or fifty years from today. God knows what we shall need all the years of our lives. If we wait on Him to reveal what we shall always need so that we can ask what will meet our short and long term needs, then we shall be the happier for it. This again makes waiting on the Lord in prayer a must.
The third thing we want to say is that unless people spend time together, they will not know each other much. Those who want to know the Lord must wait on Him in prayer, so that He may reveal Himself ever increasingly to them. The more a person waits on the Lord, the more the Lord will reveal Himself to that one; and the more revelations the person has from the Lord of His character, His will, His plans, His purposes, etc., the more the person will know the Lord. This again makes waiting on the Lord in prayer a must; for without such waiting, the believer will only havea superficial knowledge of Him.
We send this book out with prayer that the many believers who are being awakened to a life of praying, and are actually praying, learn to wait on the Lord in prayer so pray more correctly. We send this book out with prayer that since it is a matter of Waiting On The Lord In Prayer, the saints should not just wait in prayer, but they should wait on the Lord in prayer. That is, they should wait and wait and keep waiting until the Lord has spoken or answered.
We are well aware of the face that as in all aspects of spiritual science there is an initiation, a learning anda continuation as progress is made, those who do no yet wait on the Lord in prayer will enroll in the School Of Waiting On The Lord In Prayer, and make progress.
We commend you, dear reader, as we commend this book, to the Lord of glory with prayer that He be glad to use this book for your spiritual enrichment.
To Him be all the honour and glory!
Amen.

You Can Receive a Pure Heart Today
Zacharias Tanee Fomum
(4 copies available)
113 pages.
The Lord Jesus said, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God." (Matthew 5:8, NIV). The Bible says, "Make every effort to live in peace with all men and be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord." (Hebrews 12:14, NIV)
It is obvious from the above verses that to be holy and to have a pure heart, are one and the same thing. Those whose hearts are pure are holy. Those whose hearts are impure are unholy.
Only those whose hearts are pure will see God. Those whose hearts are not pure will not see God. Those whose hearts are not pure will not be in the holy city at the end. The Bible syas, "Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates. Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and fornicators and murderers and idolaters, and every one who loves and practises falsehood." (Revelation 22:14-15).
Is your heart pure? In other words: Will you be in heaven? Will you see God? This book is written to help you to answer "yes" to these questions.
God bless you exceedingly as you read it.

PREFACE
I was converted to Christ during my first week at the University. I faithfully grew in the Lord and was keen on winning others to the Lord. For three years, during which I witnessed to an average of three students a week, I saw three students converted to the Lord Jesus. I was however unsatisfied and wondered if there was not more to the matter of winning people to Christ than I was seeing.
Four years later on, while I was doing postgraduate work, I was praying in my room at 5 p.m., yearning for power to speak at the Christian Union in Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda. I was not expecting anything in particular, apart from the assurance that the Lord was coming with me into that meeting. I had not been praying for more than five minutes when suddenly I found myself praying loudly, actually shouting praises to God in other tongues. Many students gathered around my room to find out what was happening. I continued to speak in tongues loudly for the next two hours.
From that day, I began to see people turn to the Lord in a remarkable way as I witnessed to them at the individual level, or as I preached to them in large numbers. Sometimes I knelt to pray and was so lost in God that I would not realize that I had been praying for five or six hours. That was fifteen years ago. I was baptized into the Holy Spirit! This book is about that experience - The Baptism into the Holy Spirit.
May God bless you as you read it. May you be baptized into the Holy Spirit as you read it, and if you are already baptized into the Holy Spirit, may the Lord lead you into a greater experience of the' power of the Spirit-filled life.

THE FOUR BAPTISMS
There are four baptisms outlined for us in the Scriptures.
1. THE BAPTISM INTO THE BODY OF CHRIST.
The Bible says, 'For just as the Body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body - Jews or Greeks, slaves or free - and all were made to drink of one Spirit. For the body does not consist of one member but many." (1 Corinthians 12:12-14).
This is the first baptism that a believer undergoes. When a person believes in his heart that Jesus is Lord, he is justified before God. That means that from that moment, God considers him as one who has never sinned. This is because the righteousness of Christ is immediately imparted to him. He may not yet have raised up his hand in an evangelistic meeting. He may not yet have come forward at an altar call. He may not yet have repeated the prayer for those who want to receive the Lord, but from the very moment when he believes in his heart that Jesus is Lord, this baptism into the Body of Christ, His church, takes place. Those who receive this baptism are children of God. The others are not. Those who receive this baptism are members of the body of Christ. Anyone who believes that tie is justified, and therefore a member of the body of Christ, must receive all the other members and show them love, regardless of any areas of differences that there may exist between them. Therefore, all in the Body must love all who are in the Body.
In the baptism into the Body, the following facts stand:
a) The Baptizer: the Holy Spirit
b) The object being baptized: the one who believes in the Lord Jesus.
c) The medium into which he is baptized: the Body of Christ; the Church.
All believers have received this baptism. Those who have received this baptism have eternal life. They shall never perish. Only the Holy Spirit knows for certain those who have received this baptism from Him. We accept the testimony of people when they say to us, "I believe that Jesus Christ is Lord," and treat them as members of the Body on the basis of their confession. Treating them on the basis of their confession means, in addition to many other things, loving them as Christ loved the Church; that is, up to the point of dying for them.
All who have believed in the Lord Jesus should know for certain that the Holy Spirit has baptized them into the Body of Christ. They should know that they belong to the Lord and that they belong to all the others who belong to the Lord Because they have been baptized into the Body of Christ, anything done, said, or thought that wounds, or destroys any other member of the Body of Christ is personal injury being inflicted by the person against himself, for if the hand hurts the eye, the whole body, including the hand, suffers. This gives much food for thought.
As we have said, the Holy Spirit is the One who baptizes the believer into the Body of Christ. This is only to be expected, since He is the One who works in the unbeliever to convict of sin, righteousness and judgment. He is the One who testifies of Christ, and when the person believes in Christ, He immediately baptizes the person into the Body of Christ.
From the moment a person believes in the Lord, the Holy Spirit, who immediately baptizes him into the Body of Christ, also takes permanent residence in him. The Holy Spirit becomes in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life. The Lord Jesus said to the Samaritan woman before she was converted, "Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst; the water that I give him becomes in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." (John 4:13-14).
The Holy Spirit dwells in all believers. There is no believer who does not have the Holy Spirit dwelling in him, for "Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him" (Romans 8:9).
The Bible says, "Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?" ( 1 Corinthians 3:1 6). "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God? You are not your own." (1 Corinthians 6:19).
It is one thing to have the Holy Spirit. One receives the Holy Spirit for spiritual life and one is filled with the Holy Spirit for power for spiritual ministry.
2. THE BAPTISM INTO THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Lord Jesus said, "And behold, I send you the promise of my Father upon you; but stay in the city, until you are clothed with power from on high." (Luke 24:49). "On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and proclaimed, "If anyone thirst, let him come to me and drink. He who believes in me, as the scripture has said, 'Out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water'." (John 7:37-38). "And while staying with them he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, "You heard from me, for John baptized with water, but before many days you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit." (Acts 1:4-5). "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth." (Acts 1:8). And Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38). "Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John, who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit; for it had not yet fallen on any of them, but they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit." (Acts 8:14-17). "While Peter was still saying this, the Holy Spirit fell on all who herd the word. And the believers from among the circumcised who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles. For they heard them speaking in tongues and extolling God. Then Peter declared, "Can anyone forbid water for baptizing these people who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?" (Acts 10:44 47).
In the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit is said to "come upon", to "fall upon" the believer who already has the Holy Spirit as the Giver of divine life. He comes upon the believer then, not to give him life, but to give him power for service. In this ministry then, the Holy Spirit is not envisaged as "a spring of water welling up to eternal life," (for springs talk of origin) but as a river. The differences between a spring and a river are obvious. The Holy Spirit comes in "the baptism into the Holy Spirit" to give the endowment, the anointing, the power, for service.
In the baptism into the Holy Spirit, the following facts stand out:
a) The Baptizer: the Lord Jesus Christ
b) The object being baptized: the believer.
c) The medium into whiefetheis baptized: the Holy Spirit.
All believers are baptized into the Body of Christ without any asking from them. All they need to do is to believe in the Lord. For the baptism into the Holy Spirit, this may be the case as it happened in the home of Cornelius and on the day of Pentecost, but in the cases of Saul of Tarsus, the Samaritan believers and the Ephesian believers. He came upon people with the laying on of hands. The Bible says, " God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Saviour, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. And we are witnesses to these things, and so in the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him." (Acts 5:31-32). "If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?" (Luke 11:13).
The minimum condition for baptism into the Holy Spirit is faith in Jesus Christ.
For the first Pentecost, Jesus had to be exalted. For all subsequent Pentecosts, He should be exalted as Lord and Supreme Leader of the individual who wants to be baptized into the Holy Spirit.
All who have been baptized into the Holy Spirit know for certain the exact time when it happened. They do not need anyone to assure them that it has happened. They know it.
Because this book is about baptism into the Holy Spirit, things will become clearer as you read on.
3. THE BAPTISM INTO WATER
The Bible says, "Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38). "And he said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does nst believe will be condemned." (Mark 16:16). "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20).
In the baptism into water, the following facts stand:
a) The baptizer: a baptized believer in the Lord Jesus.
b) The object being baptized: the believer in the Lord Jesus who has not yet been baptized since he believed.
c) The medium into which he is baptized: water.
The baptism into water is not an absolute necessity for baptism into the Holy Spirit.
4. THE BAPTISM OF SUFFERING
(also called by some, the baptism of fire)
The Lord Jesus said, "I came to cast fire upon the earth; and would that it were already kindled! I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how I am constrained until it is accomplished!" (Luke 12:49-50).
"And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came forward to him and said to him, "Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you." And he said to them, "What do you want me to do for you?" And they said to him, "Grant us to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory." But Jesus said to them, "You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?" And they said to him, "We are able." And Jesus said to them, "The cup that I drink, you will drink; and with the baptism with which I am baptized, you will be baptized; but to sit at my right hand or my left is not mine to grant, but it is for those for whom it is prepared." (Mark 10:35-40).
In the baptism of suffering, the following facts stand:
a) The Baptizer: God the Father.
b) The object being baptized: the consecrated believer.
c) The medium into which he is baptized: suffering.
The Lord Jesus underwent this baptism. The Father smote the Shepherd. The consecrated believer will inevitably undergo this baptism.
