The Black Madonna and her son in Angola bewitched the Pope

The Black Madonna and her son in Angola bewitched the Pope

August 31, 2013
The Catholic Church claims gospel writer Luke painted her. She is venerated in Poland, in Haiti and within Voodoo. The late Pope bowed down to her son in Angola.
The late Pope bowed down to a Black copy of “Jesus” in Angola in 1992. Soon after, his life was only sickness and sufferings.
One of the readers of this blog, challenged me to write an article about the witches in the service of the Pope.
Rather: This relationship in the occult realm is the opposite. The Pontiffs are in the service of the witches.
In Poland she is named “Our Lady of Czestochowa”.
The Roman Catholic Church says the original image was discovered by some monks in the city of Nazareth, and first brought to Constantinople. The myth is that the gospel writer Luke painted her.
Here is a video-link to the official Catholic version of history:
We can not completely rule out that Luke might have been color blind.
But who can not see the difference between black and white?
“Our Lady of Czestochowa” and her black child. She has two cuts in her face.
The Polish version, and the Haitian lookalike. One is a copy. The other the original. The two cuts in their faces, exposes the truth.
The Black Madonna of Haiti is Erzulie Dantor, a lady of African origin. She was a witch.
Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal.
The present Pope praying to the lady of Fatima.
The Jewish Mother of Jesus could not have been like a chameleon, changing her colors like the Vatican claim. Either she was white, or she was black.
Since the Catholic Church has both black and white copies of the Jewish mother of Jesus, we can conclude that someone has bewitched the Papal system. And since the Black Madonna looks like an African, she was quite surely: An African.
Through the ages, many black people in Africa has indulged them selves in venerating, adoring and worshiping Voodoo witches.
When the Western Africans were transported as slaves across the Atlantic, they took their Voodoo religion with them.  In the Voodoo heartland of Haiti, the Catholic’s have another version of the origin of the Lady of Czestochowa. The image is not from Jerusalem. The image was “discovered” in 1802 on Haiti by Catholic monks of Polish origin, and taken to Poland.
Not only on Haiti, but in the whole region, the first Catholic converts from Voodoo venerated the Black Madonna as  “Santa Barbara Africana”. Her origin is marked by two cuts on the left side of her face.
The Haitian “Lady” of African origin. St. Barbara Africana. She has two cuts in her face.
This is an Cuban image of the African Madonna. The two cuts on her face are the same.
What is the explanation behind these two cuts in face of these ladies?
The backstory to the painting in Voodoo lore is of a mother fiercely protective of the daughter (not son) she carries. She loves knives and received the facial scars fighting with her sister Erzulie Freda. The scars are a sign of Dantor’s strength: She is wounded but keeps going.
Erzulie Dantor. Anonymous artist (Jacmel, Haiti) Papier Maché.
The story goes that she is the pagan goddess “Erzulie Dantor”, who the local Papal system claim converted to Catholicism. She was a witch that originated from the African state of Benin. The name of the ancient African nations was “Dahomey”. This statehood was founded in the seventeenth century, and survived until 1894. From 1894 until 1960 Dahomey was a part of French West Africa.
Erzulie Dantor, the Black Madonna and her child as portrayed by the New Age movement. Look at the circle in her face. The cut of Voodoo.
Erzulie Dantor as a Haitian Voodoo doll. She holds her child in one hand, and not a Bible in the other. The lady that loves knife’s…
It is quite logic, that the Catholics in France brought with them home the Black Madonna from Africa. Do not forget that Haiti also was a French colony. Take a look at the black “Lady” from the French city of Guingamp.
The Black Lady of Guingamp in France also has a black “son”, wearing the same dress as the woman.
Another “Lady” Madonna from France, obviously brought from Africa.
Romanesque Madonna of Chastreix, Puy-de-Dome, France.
And a Black Catholic Madonna hosted in Paris it self.
Our Lady of the Good Death (Notre Dame de la Bonne Mort). She is originally from Bahia in Brazil.
There are 29 Black Madonnas in different Roman Catholic Churches, just in France.
The Black Madonna of Haiti and Dahomey also has a copy-cat sister in the City of Barcelona in Spain. Her name is our “Lady of Monserrate”.

Interestingly enough, Rome claim that also the statue of the Black Virgin of Montserrat was carved by Gospel writer Luke around 50 AD and brought to Spain. We are told by the Vatican, that not only was Luke a good painter, supposed to have painted “Our Lady of Czestochowa”. He also made statues. The challenge is that this statue went missing during Muslim rule in Spain. It was supposedly rediscovered by the Roman Catholics around 880 AD in a cave in Spain.
Who is ready to believe all this non sense?
And I tell you, this paganism presented as “Christianity”, gets even more spicy…
The black “Jesus”, venerated and lifted on the shoulders of Mexicans.
The Catholic Black Madonna do have a Son. He is also black. But her son do not seek refuge in Israel, or is worshiped in the Middle East.  One of the black sons are located in Mexico. There he is worshiped as “The Lord of Esquipulas”

The late Polish Pope visited the image of the Black Madonna in Poland:
The Pope visited the  image of Lady of Czestochowa.
One of her black sons is located in Angola. The late Pope John Paul II paid him a visit in June 1992. This picture is published on page 222, on Reader’s Digest’s complete biography of the Polish Pope. ISBN 0-7621-0657-3.
This late Pope was deceived, and died under tragic circumstances.
And what should have made all Catholics shake their head in horror:
The Pope bowed his head and worshiped the “black Messiah” of Angola.

Bewitched Catholics in Manila, Guatemala and Panama

August 10, 2013
A copy of El Cristo Negro is worshiped in the city of Portobelo in Panama. Another statue is feed by his students in the Philippines.
You do not have double vision. There are two black copies of Jesus in this Catholic parade in Manila.
News That Matters has focused on the spiritual foundation of the Black Madonna, back to its origin in the occult realms of voodoo.
Her black son has been copied in Catholic Churches all over the Globe.
From the city of Cologne in Germany, to Manila in the Philippines.
There are many stories among Catholics of how these crucifixes have landed up on different shores.
One legend from Panama explains that the image of “Christ” came to Portobelo aboard a sailing ship bound for Cartagena in Colombia.
Catholics pray to and bow down before El Cristo Negro, Portobelo in Panama.
When the galleon sailed from Portobelo, a fierce storm sank it. The boxed image floated free and was washed up on a nearby beach. There it was found by the towns people and taken back to Portobelo.
El Cristo Negro of Portobelo, Panama. The voodoo knife’s on his head, must have been given to him by his Haitian mother.
Faithful Catholic pilgrims crawl on their knees, to face El Cristo Negro inside the Church in Portobelo in Panama.
In the Philippines, the story is different. El Cristo Nero was bought in Mexico by a Catholic priest, carved by an Aztec carpenter. The statues was than transported by a galleon from Acapulco, and enshrined in the minor basilica in Quiapo in Manila.
A good example of how this falsehood spread from the Voodoo inflicted Caribbean, to the most distant shores in South East Asia.
The Manila version of “Jesus”, a small black Catholic copy of a statue in Mexico.
El Cristo Negro is a real crowed puller in the streets of Manila.
The appearance of El Cristo Negro in various forms, took place between the years of 1800 A.D and 1830 A.D  It was in this generation the syncretism of the Catholic religion and voodoo took place in the Caribbean.
In the city of Esquipulas in Guatemala the black copy of Jesus is surprisingly surrounded by white skinned ladies. Eventually, his mother could not have been black, as her claimed to be son.
El Cristo Negro, in the city of Esquipulas in Guatemala.
The Black Messiah of Guatemala with her white mother.
One saying trying to explain the color difference. The kisses and tears of the faithful has made the wooden statue black. Strangely enough: Despite all the tears and kisses, the white color of his mother’s statue never disappeared.
The freemasons are known for their great reverence of the occult realm.
A priest gives an order brother his reward, next to the black copy of Jesus. Pay attention to the man with the black cap. Its like the devil watching the show.
This merger of Catholicism and voodoo was blessed by the Papal system. Today this form of religion is like an explosive cocktail, beyond the possibility of repentance and repair.  Anyone who bells this kind of false Christianity, and decides to follow the true faith, will be excommunicated, ridiculed and persecuted.
Lets see what the book of revelation says:
Revelation 18:4
Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues.
As you saw in the “Drop in Saturday” story. The late Pope never managed to leave this corrupt religion, after he approved and blessed it in Angola in 1992. Than: As promised in the Bible, the Pope was struck by her plagues.
Acceptance of this religion, will lead the worshipers into cruel bondage’s.

Sun and crescent moon manifested in the Roman Catholic Eucharist

July 13, 2013
The Pope lifts up an ancient symbol of the sun god, carried by a gold piece formed like the crescent moon. In Ancient Egypt, this was a symbol of the Mother of gods, Isis.
The Pope has mixed ancient Egyptian paganism into a Catholic doctrine.
If you look carefully, you can you see the crescent moon in gold, holding up the round wafer inside the ring.
Let see what happens when the Islamic crescent moon gets the sun shining in the center of the image.

Have you ever seen this gold image of the goddess Isis, the Egyptian mother of gods? Please take a good look.
An ancient Egyptian image of Isis, the wife of the sun god and Mother of gods. She holds up the sun in the form of a pearl, carried by the crescent moon.
The Pope needs to bow before the sun and the crescent moon. One way of doing so, is to lift the gold stand over his head.
This is the gold stand that the Pope needs to keep up high. The crescent moon is there. Only the sun is missing.
The present Pope perform the religious ritual.
If it is true that the Roman Catholic Church is not a Biblical Church, the falsehood of its priesthood will manifest it self in all kinds of pagan practices.
I have not paid to much attention about secret signs, and codes that will expose the Vatican. But after Jesus of the Bible gave me some vital information about the religious ritual of the Eucharist, I have to admit that we need to pay attention.
Because the World Council of Churches and Rome are seriously debating how to come back into full communion in regards to the “Eucharist Celebration”.
First:
There is absolutely no verses in the Bible that demands the bread in the last supper to be anything but an oven colored and shaped Jewish bread, blessed and broken by Jesus and shared at the table. It was the fellowship around the bread of life (The Word) and blood (His crucifixion) that was Jesus gift of eternal life to those who obey Him.
Second:
The Catholic priesthood has made breaking of physical bread, into a alter ritual around a pre-manufactured wafer. On the alter, they put this wafer into a strange gold stand, called the monstrance. The priest than lift the round wafer host in the holder above his head.
Afterwords the faithful are invited to eat the wafer. But very few have a clue about what exactly the priest have done at the alter.
Who does this gold strand represent?
Why put a bright white wafer inside a ring of gold?
And what kind of arrangements holds the host inside the ring?
May the following images be able to open your heart for the truth about the Vatican.
If Rome only had included Egyptian paganism and Islamic symbolism in the Catholic Eucharist, some people could have defended this. They might tell you: “In the Catholic Eucharist we have a symbolic victory over the old ancient religions, and have Christianized them”.
That’s fine. But that is not what the Roman Catholic Church have done.
They have to the radical opposite included the Queen of Heaven into this ritual. Expressed by this nine feet tall image of Catholic Mary in a Roman Catholic Church in Chicago. Here Catholic Mary is in the center of the Eucharist, where both she and her heart is presented as the host. The bread of life.
Like a Buddha she sits, on top of the crescent moon. St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Chicago.
Here the Eucharist host is a part of the glory of the Queen of Heaven.
Egyptian Mother of gods, holding the sun as her crown. The crescent moon later become the very image of Islam.
Because of the striking similarities, we need to know more about who this goddess Isis is, and what she is doing. Because a billion souls might get lost, because of their participation.
Isis holds up the sun, and she is married to the sun god Osiris.
This Egyptian goddess Isis also has a son, who mistakenly looks like the Madonna and child, promoted in Catholicism as “Mary with baby Jesus”.
Egyptian Isis, holding up the sun, with baby Horus in her hand.
And as this ancient Egyptian sculpture exposes, the Mother of gods was accepted into Catholicism.
The mother of gods, nurses her baby child.
Isis the Mother of Gods, and Catholic Mary the Mother of god. The merger took place in 431 A.D.
Some Catholic priest also carry the Eucharist host on their shoulders, where an image of Catholic Mary again is at the center of the ritual.
A parade of the Eucharist host, with an image of Catholic Mary in the center.
Catholic priests also stands and pray in front of the Eucharist host, venerating, adoring or worship this image. This is the perfect merger of paganism and Catholicism.
The sun and moon revered in a ritual, where Jesus is promoted to be physically present inside the ring.
The same image in Islam. A religion who reduces Jesus to a great prophet.
This is the image on top of the Faisal Mosque in Islamabad, Pakistan.
The crescent moon, the sign of Islam
Let people who are not completely spiritually blinded be able to understand.

Catholics adore skeleton and “feast of its tongue”

June 25, 2013
These Catholic priests carries a “fresh tongue” on their shoulder, claimed to have been a part of a 750 year old skeleton.
Roman Catholic priest carries the “Holy tongue” from Northern Italy.
The “feast of the tongue” was last celebrated in May 2010 in Colombo on Sri Lanka. For this purpose the tongue of “St. Anthony” had been transported from Italy to the Island nation in the Indian Ocean.
St. Antony is also called “Anthony of Lisbon “, and his remains have been taken up from the grave. They are kept for adoration in the Relics Chapel of Padua’s Basilica  in Northern Italy.
The UK Newspaper Daily Mail wrote an article about this Vatican claimed to be saint on February 15th 2010.
Roman Catholic monks adore a 750 year old skeleton inside the Relics Chapel of Padua’s Basilica in Italy.
There you can read the following:
The display, which will last until Saturday will be in chapel of his tomb in Padua and marks the feast of the transfer of St Anthony, also known as the ‘feast of the tongue’.
When his coffin was moved 30 years after his burial it was opened and it is claimed most of his body was found to have returned to dust. However his tongue remained fresh, which was seen as a sign of his gift of preaching, and was kept in a separate relic box.
A closer look at the claimed to be holy tongue, tells a different story. It looks like a black stone. It must be pretty hard, and I do not think anyone would like to take a bite. Not even touch it. I guess that Is why it has been kept in a glass mounter, and put inside an idol of gold.
This item hardly looks like a tongue. Maybe it is a stone?
When I see Catholic priest carry this “fresh tongue” on their shoulder, bowing down to the image, pray to and kiss the idol of gold, it is very disturbing.
I guess this kind of activity fits into a couple of Bible verses that exposes false teachers. They are suppose to go from bad to worse. And much worse than this, I can only with great difficulties imagine.
2 Peter 2:1
But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves.
Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up.

2 Timothy 3:12-15

In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
(end of scripture)
How a Pope who approve this kind of paganism can still be branded as the “Holy Father” is a mystery.
I wonder how the Catholics can be sure that the skeleton really is of the man they claim is Anthony of Lisbon?
I will not be surprised it the whole story is made up.
When I saw the picture of the frame the Catholics has put around this stony kind of “tongue”, it looks like a copy of the frame in Mecca. Have you seen the pictures of the frame inside Islams “holiest shrine”, that has a black stone in its center?
The Muslims are told to kiss this stone, which is suppose to take away their sins.
This frame in on the Kaaba in Mecca, and inside there is a black stone.
The frame and item inside could be a copy of the stone worship in Mecca.
A close look at the black stone in Mecca, will disply a group of small black stones.
In regards to this “holy tongue” and the “holy black stone”, the Pope and Islam seems to walking in perfect union. They will both end up in the One World One Religion, that is built on a theology of all faiths leading to the same god.
Will kissing this stone in Mecca wash away the sins of Khaled Mashaal?
in this picture you see the leader of Hamas bowing down,  ready to kiss the black stone in Mecca. What makes him any day different from Roman Catholic priests that bows down to kiss the black tongue sent from a “Church” in Northern Italy?
A Vatican appointed priest kiss the image of gold, that is supposed to have a holy tongue in a frame in its center.
Catholic priest burning incense in front of the gold idol with a tongue placed where people normally will find the heart.
A Roman Catholic priest bows down and pray in front of the image of Gold.
What is the Bible saying about men who do this kind of things:
Exodus 20: 4-6:
“You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments.
(end of scripture)
You have to be pretty blind not to see that these priest are doing evil, and participate in blasphemy against the living God.
If you want to live, you will have to run for your life from men like these. Do never let them touch you or your children, and do not listen to what they tell you.
You can take a look at these photo’s from Colombo on this site.

Cuba: Pope blesses “Virgin” Yemaya and witchcraft

March 24, 2012
Black Yemaya from Nigeria came up from the sea with a white boy. In Cuba she merged with Roman Catholic Lady of Regla, “Our Lady of charity”.

The Late Pope blessed the statue of the patroness of Cuba and her son in 1998.
When the Pope lands on Cuba Monday, He will meet priests who worship Our Lady of Cobre as the patroness of Cuba. Just like the late Pope did, when he visited the communist nation.
The Pope touch his heart, bow, close his heart and pray to the patroness.
Señora de la Caridad del Cobre is the best example on Earth of the merger of paganism, Catholicism and witchcraft.
In Cuba you can find the patroness presented in the same city with different skin colors.  The Cuban origin of the Goddess is Yemaya. She came with the slaves across the Atlantic from Nigeria.
The negres came up from the sea with a little white boy in her hands. Also the Hispanic version of this goddess of Cuba came up from the sea. But the Roman Catholic Church did not like the mix of white and black colors in the idols of mother and son. So on the official Vatican ikons the mother is rather dusky.
Lets take a deeper look at this goddess of syncretism:
The Lady of Regla in a monastery on the Paseo de Costa de la Luz in ghd region Cádiz in the state of Andalucia, Spain.
Roman Catholic priest in Cuba carry the black Madonna with her white son on their shoulders. (click on the photo to see a larger version).
Black and white mixed together. The religion of both the slaves and the colonial power.
The African slaves often got white babies after being raped by the Conquistadores from Spain. Others got babies as a result of prostitution.
A poster for the feast of the patroness. The Lady of Cobra is celebrated on September 7th.
The shrine of Our Lady of Regla, Miami Fl.
Here is some information about the patroness of Cuba:
Every September, thousands of Cubans gather to pay homage to the local Virgin of Regla, a black Virgin who also embodies the oricha Yemayá. I trace the transformation of this Spanish Virgin into an icon of Afro-Cuban religious identity in movement through transatlantic and colonial spaces. I argue that procession participants created (and still create) a Virgin of their own by “voting with their feet” and reclaiming the sacred spaces of the Church and its surroundings utilizing various forms of verbal and non-verbal performance.
 Source: Hemisphere Institute.org
On of the challenges for the Pope is to face all the Cuba “Espiritistas”. They are mediums who use prayer to the patroness together with Tarot cards. These Cuban ladies are nothing but modern day witches.  Here is a typical cross-faith prayer in Cuba. It underline that the “black madonna” came from across the sea.  In other words: An African.
Mediums and witches on Cuba pray to the patroness.
A medium sell rosary chains and tarot cards outside the Church of the patroness.
Most Holy Mother of Charity
who came to us as a messenger of peace across the sea.
You are the Mother of all Cubans
To you we come, Most Holy Mother of God
to honor you with love as your children.
To your motherly heart
we entrust our desires and hopes
our work and our prayers.
We pray for our torn country
that we may be able to build
a nation based on peace and unity.
We pray for our families
that they may live in fidelity and love.
My comment:
You will not find a better proof of witchcraft from Africa being mixed into Catholicism. But for all who have the Pope as their “Holy father” is will not make a difference. The Pontiff might be color blind, but is still infallible.
For all who know Messianic Judaism: To present this kind of prostitute as the Mother of Jesus, is a tasteless, laughable abomination.
For all who know what the Spaniard did with the female negro slaves among them: The image of this African lady with a small Spaniard on her arms, makes perfectly sense.
Still people will continue to claim that this whore of Babylon is the “Mother of God”, and the “Queen of Heaven”.
 Revelation 17:4-6
The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries. This title was written on her forehead:
   MYSTERY
   BABYLON THE GREAT
   THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES
AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
If this is not the woman in Revelation chapter 17, than nothing can be.
The Roman Catholic Church a global spiritual tragedy. Nothing more. Nothing less.

The Vatican to bless the “Holy blood of the late Pope”

November 26, 2011
A vial containing blood drawn from Pope John Paul II will be installed as a relic in a Polish church.
A Cardinal managed to collect blood from the dying Pope. Soon to be blessed as "holy blood" in a Catholic Church in Poland.
The blood sample was collected from the late Pope just before he died, and will be declared “Holy” soon after his beatification later this year.
Last week, Pope Benedict XVI announced he will beatify the late pope on May 1. Beatification is the last major step before possible sainthood.
Polish Cardinal Dziwisz manged to collect blood from the Polish Pope
Piotr Sionko is the spokesman for the John Paul II Center in Poland.
He says the vial will be encased in crystal and built into the altar of a church in the southern city of Krakow that is opening in May.
This is reported by the Associated Press.
The late pope, who was born in southern Poland, served as archbishop of Krakow.
Sionko said the idea came from Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz, the archbishop of Krakow and late pontiff’s longtime friend and secretary.
The blood was drawn for medical tests before John Paul’s death in 2005, and is now in Dziwisz’s possession, he said.
After his death, some Polish officials said they hoped John Paul’s heart would be removed from his body and returned to his homeland for burial. However, church officials said the age had passed for that practice, the AP reports.
Source: USA Today.
My comment:
To even suggest to rip the heart out of a dead Pope, and bury it somewhere else, is a sign of demonic and spiritual insanity.
To collect the blood of a dead Pope, for a future declaration of its “holiness” should have made Roman Catholics standing speechless and utterly embarrassed.
Polish Cardinal Dziwisz (right) at the coffin of the late Pope. Did he collect the blood just before the Pope died, or just after his departure?
The Polish cardinal (behind) claims he collected the blood long time after the Pope fell seriously ill.
How can a Vatican approved Cardinal, make a such a mockery out of the blood of Jesus, the only blood that is “holy”?
The true meaning of the word “Holy” is righteous before God.
Ephesians 1:7
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.
Is there more “holy blood”, than needs to be idolized?
What makes the late Popes blood equally ‘holy” as the blood of the Lamb of God?
Satanists collects "Holy blood". Here from a Chicken in Ecuador.
To equalize or replace the blood of Jesus, is an extremely vulgar act of Satanism.
Satanists collects “holy blood” from dying Chickens. A Catholic Cardinal collects “holy blood” from a dying pope. There is no difference.
Hebrews 10:29
How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

Catholic Mary with Islamic crescent moon on her head

November 11, 2011
This website exposes that Rome and Islam serve the same “god”, and the same pagan goddess.
A pretty little Muslim girl called "Catholic Mary".
This is written on this site:
“Mary is celebrated around the world as the Divine Feminine by millions of people, many of them Catholics. Those who are devoted to Mary, honor Her as the mother of Jesus”.
This might be just a small detail: But why do this lady have red eyes?

Pope: Wearing a scapular is sign of unity with Jesus and Mary

July 19, 2011
Pope Benedict IX  is encouraging the faithful to wear scapulars claiming that those who wear them are in unity with Jesus and Mary.
The scapular is in essence a charm that many Catholics wear as a guarantee of making it into heaven.
The scapular originated in 7th century in the order of Benedict. It is believed that Catholic Mary appeared to Benedict in the year 1251 and told him to construct a scapular with the words in the above picture and spread a devotion to it. Benedict said that Mary told him those who would die wearing the scapular around their necks would not go to hell.
The word scapular comes from the Latin word scapulae meaning “shoulders.”  A full scapular is a religious habit that monks wear. The scapular in the photo above is also considered a type of habit with cloth hanging in the front and back of the body.
Indulgences and promises were attached to the scapular. It is said that those who kiss a blessed scapular with devotion will receive 500 days of indulgence ( will get out of purgatory 500 days earlier).
Monks wearing a hoodless scapular as their habit.
Wikipedia says the following about the brown scapular:
A scapular promise historically known as the Sabbatine privilege, was associated with an apocryphal Papal Bull allegedly by Pope John XXII. It states that through her special intercession, on the Saturday following their death, Mary will personally liberate and deliver the souls of devotees out of Purgatory. The Vatican has denied the validity of this document since 1613 and forbade the Carmelites to preach the Sabbatine privilege, an admonition which they did not always adhere to.[24] At the same time however the Church gave the Carmelites permission to preach that Mary’s merits and intercession would help those “who have departed this life in charity, have worn in life the scapular, have ever observed chastity, have recited the Little Hours of the Blessed Virgin, or, if they cannot read, have observed the fast days of the Church, and have abstained from flesh meat on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Yesterday Pope Benedict XVI said the following about the scapular:
Benedict XVI said   those who wore the scapular had “particular sign of union with Jesus and Mary.”
“For those who wear it, it is a sign of filial abandonment to the protection of the Immaculate Virgin,” he said. “In our battle against evil, may Mary our Mother wrap us in her mantle.”
Source: Philomenazenit
My Comment:
Kissing a piece of cloth will not get you out of a fabricated “Purgatory.”  Wearing a cloth necklace that is blessed by a priest will not get you into heaven.
I grew up wearing a scapular. When I was little I thought that somehow this piece of cloth would protect me from the devil. It became a superstitious charm that I felt I had to wear to keep me out of hell. How horrible that as a child I was told this cloth is what would abtain heaven for me instead of the blood of Jesus and His finished work on the cross. If I forgot to put it on, I would fear if I died I might go to hell forever.
This is simply another idol that is put up and venerated in ones life instead of trusting in the blood of Jesus. What a blasphemy and a lie to millions of Catholics who are enslaved to this evil falsehood.
“Blessed” objects do not save. Magical words written on cloth hung around your neck will not save. Even if the Pope says it will. It leads people to think “If I just wear the scapular, I’m going to heaven” even if they are not born again.
And now we have Pope Benedict encouraging people to wear it. This is a false security and a wicked practice.
Let go of this idolatry known as the scapular. Embrace Jesus of the  Bible and not this Jesus of Rome.
1 John 5:21
Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
1 Corinthians 10:7
Do not be idolaters as some of them were; as it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.”

Vatican Cardinals exposes pagan worship in their banners

August 28, 2010
A Christian will never use pagan symbols, images and idols. Roman Catholic Cardinals have put them inside their own banners.
Cardinal Ratzinger with his red saturno hat, used by Vatican Cardinals.
Symbolism is also important. Lets take a deeper look:
The Cardinal William Baum of Washington DC has a banner that looks like a Pakistani flag. You might not find it funny, that a Vatican appointed Cardinal has a banner than looks like the national emblem of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Banner or emblem of Cardinal William Baum
This emblem has the classical crescent moon found in Islamic symbols, and mixed with the color green, this cardinal could be a representative of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The national emblem of the republic of Pakistan.
Islamic symbols
Cardinal Baum dressed in their traditional color of red.
The double cross used by the Vatican Cardinals is not a Christian symbol.
It is a symbol of betrayal, and a symbol of the dragoon in the occult, and within Satanism.  This Papal symbol is similar to the double cross used by the ancient Orthodox Byzantine “Church”, that had the double headed eagle as their symbol. This is a symbol that is in use among freemasons.
Symbol of the ancient Orthodox Byzantine Church.
Cardinal Paulo Evaristo of Sao Paulo of Brazil has the symbol of the Egyptian sun god on his banner.  His pagan Egyptian symbol is on top of a T, that is penetrated by s sword.

The likeness of the symbol of the Egyptian sun god is striking. Its almost impossible not to acknowledge that the Vatican is a copycat of the pagan Egyptian original.

You have to ask cardinal Paulo why he wants to promote this pagan image.

Cardinal Albert Vanhoye was born in France, and is a priest that represent the Jesuits who has formed the “Society of Jesus”. His banner must be the best proof there is, that the Roman Catholic celebration of the Eucharist, is worship of the sun god.  A more visual evidence can hardly be found inside the Vatican system.

What about the Pope. Is he the symbol of the sun god, called “The Holy Father”? Lets take a look a look at a tablet of the sun god baal from British Museum, collected from Babylon in Iraq.
The similarities with the Papal Chair in Rome and sun symbols in the Vatican can not be denied.
St. Peters Square in the Vatican seen from the air.
The floor in front of the Pope is full of sun god symbols, similar to those in ancient Babylon.
Why is all the cardinals dressed in red, a color that is the basic color on all the Vatican appointed Cardinals?
Did you know that they have taken their name and colors from a bird that is found in North and South America?
Just google “cardinal”, and click image and you will see.
Funny, is it not.
We have to be able to see the humoristic side of this, also.
I have earlier proved that the crescent moon can be found inside the golden stand that hold up the wafer host in every Catholic mass.
That the crescent moon is also to be found at the very top of the dome inside St. Peters Basilica, must be more than a funny coincident. Just google “dome Vatican”, and take a look at multiple images available.
That this symbol used in the heart of Islam is found just above the Papal throne in Rome, is another example that displays that “Allah” and the “god” of the Pope is the same.
The late Pope kisses the Koran
Another proof of this, is the picture of the late Pope kissing the Koran.
No wonder why Roman Catholic Bishops claims the Koran to be a “Holy Book”, and that all religions points towards the same “god”
What more do you need to put on your shoes, dust them and leave the Roman Catholic claimed to be a “Christian Church” ?
That the Cardinals have taken their names and colors from a American bird, is  funny. That the late Pope did kiss the Koran, is not funny at all.
Many images will show you the Islamic crescent moon on the top in the dome in the Vatican.
The Roman Catholic “Church” is full of paganism, deceptions and religious wickedness. The leadership has made the Catholics members of a Satanic cult. Please run for your life….

Media Silent as Muslims Ethnically Cleanse 60,000 Christians in Philippines

When thousands of Muslims become refugees, then you can’t get the media to shut up about it for weeks. Thousands of Muslim migrants invading Burma became “refugees” and the media has spent the better part of a year ranting about how evil the Buddhists are.

But when Muslim terrorists attack a Christian city creating tens of thousands of refugees, you couldn’t pay the media to cover the story, whether it’s in Syria, Egypt or closer to home in the Philippines.

Philippine troops have started to battle their way into coastal villages in the south where Muslim rebels have held scores of residents hostage in a six-day standoff, sparking fierce clashes that have killed 56 people and displaced more than 60,000, officials said Saturday.

President Benigno Aquino III said more firefights were expected but assured more than 62,000 displaced villagers being sheltered at a sports complex in Zamboanga city that the rebels’ capability to sow trouble has been degraded and the government was working to end the crisis soon.

Zamboanga is the 6th largest city in the country and 3/4 Christian and an obvious target for the MNLF Muslim terrorists (who are of course denying responsibility and blaming a rogue leader). It’s an obvious target because of its central influence in Mindanao. It’s the city that Muslims want. And it’s likely that the MNLF is finding shelter in the Muslim parts of the city.

PUBLISHED:| UPDATED:
A relic hunter dubbed 'Indiana Bones' has lifted the lid on a macabre collection of 400-year-old jewel-encrusted skeletons unearthed in churches across Europe.

Art historian Paul Koudounaris hunted down and photographed dozens of gruesome skeletons in some of the world's most secretive religious establishments.

Incredibly, some of the skeletons, said to be the remains of early Christian martyrs, were even found hidden away in lock-ups and containers.

They are now the subject of a new book, which sheds light on the forgotten ornamented relics for the first time.

Thousands of skeletons were dug up from Roman catacombs in the 16th century and installed in towns around Germany, Austria and Switzerland on the orders of the Vatican.

They were sent to Catholic churches and religious houses to replace the relics destroyed in the wake of the Protestant Reformation in the 1500s.

Mistaken for the remains of early Christian martyrs, the morbid relics, known as the Catacomb Saints, became shrines reminding of the spiritual treasures of the afterlife.

They were also symbols of the Catholic Church's newly found strength in previously Protestant areas.

Each one was painstakingly decorated in thousands of pounds worth of gold, silver and gems by devoted followers before being displayed in church niches.

Some took up to five years to decorate.

They were renamed as saints, although none of them qualified for the title under the strict rules of the Catholic church which require saints to have been canonised.

But by the 19th century they had become morbid reminders of an embarrassing past and many were stripped of their honours and discarded.

Mr Koudounaris' new book, Heavenly Bodies: Cult Treasures and Spectacular Saints from the Catacombs, is the first time the skeletons have appeared in print.

Mr Koudounaris, from Los Angeles, said: 'I was working on another book looking into charnel houses when I came across the existence of these skeletons.

'As I discovered more about them I had this feeling that it was my duty to tell their fascinating story.

After they were found in the Roman catacombs the Vatican authorities would sign certificates identifying them as martyrs then they put the bones in boxes and sent them northwards.

'The skeletons would then be dressed and decorated in jewels, gold and silver, mostly by nuns.

'They had to be handled by those who had taken a sacred vow to the church - these were believed to be martyrs and they couldn't have just anyone handling them.

'They were symbols of the faith triamphant and were made saints in the municipalities.

'One of the reasons they were so important was not for their spiritual merit, which was pretty dubious, but for their social importance.
'They were thought to be miraculous and really solidified people's bond with a town. This reaffirmed the prestige of the town itself.'

He added: 'It's impossible to put a modern-day value on the skeletons.'

Heavenly Bodies: Cult Treasures and Spectacular Saints from the Catacombs is published by Thames and Hudson and costs 18.95 pounds.

Drinking to the Gospel: Presbyterian Church in New Zealand Embraces Alcohol to Evangelize, Attract Members, Make Money

With promotional events like "Wine and theology evenings" and "Beer and barbeque" church services, congregants of New Zealand's dying Presbyterian Church are now embracing alcohol as an evangelism tool to attract more members and increase their bottom line according to a new study coming out of that country.

Highlighting new research by religion expert, Dr. Geoff Troughton of Victoria University of Wellington, in a Medical Xpress report on Tuesday, revealed that the Presbyterian Church's anti-alcohol campaign had slacked off radically since the 1990s to shore up their bottom line and attract more people to the dying church.

"Some churches are now experimenting with using alcohol as an evangelization tool. Rather than seeing alcohol consumption as a marker of secular culture in need of change, it has become part of efforts to promote Christianity. 'Wine and theology' evenings and 'beer and barbeque' church services are among the methods being explored," said Troughton in the report.

"Many churches are keen to make Christianity seem less unusual and more hospitable to outsiders. They want to reduce the barriers between the churches and society, so in this area they are increasingly reflecting mainstream social values," he added.

Troughton explained that the serving of alcohol at church events was now "less uncommon" even in those churches seeking to attract new members.

More than half of the churches surveyed in his study allowed conditional alcohol consumption on their grounds.

"That is a significant change," explained Troughton. "It has partly occurred for financial reasons, as it means that facilities can be hired out to a wider range of people, but it also reflects changing attitudes towards alcohol within the Church."

Troughton says the shifting attitudes did not just happen overnight but changed incrementally.

New Zealand's growing wine industry and the expansion of alcohol access via New Zealand's 1989 Sale of Liquor Act also help to influence the new norm.

The Church, he said, still maintained concern over the dangers of drinking but no longer treats alcohol as a core issue when considering policy.

Troughton highlighted that only a minority of the Presbyterian Church's members abstain from alcohol.

A Gallup poll last summer noted that 66 percent of Americans say they consume alcohol with drinkers consuming an average of just over four alcoholic drinks per week. Beer remains America's preferred drink while wine comes in a close second.

Mormon Church Grows In Africa Because Converts Don't Know Racist History

Mormon Church Grows In Africa Because Converts Don't Know Racist History

Lee B. Baker

September 10,2013

The Mormon Church spreads in Africa
For several years now, every Tuesday evening I have had the great privilege of addressing the Christian and Mormon listeners of Worship FM 101.7 in Monrovia, the capital City of Liberia, West Africa.

I have come to know several of the station managers and a number of the more frequent callers to the weekly program.  Through their comments, questions and photographs, I have been genuinely moved to see the application of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Over the past few months the question of racist teachings in the Book of Mormon and from the past Leadership of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been on the minds of the Liberian converts to Mormonism and the many Christians who struggle to understand how such a Church can be growing in Africa.

I believe the answer is relatively simple; it has been the perfect merging of a sincere lack of knowledge on the part of the Mormon converts and a disturbing lack of accountability on the part of the Mormon leaders.  A near total lack of knowledge across Africa specific to some of the more explicit teachings found within the Mormon Scriptures, principally that Black Skin is a representation of wickedness and even less information concerning the racism and bigotry openly and officially taught by the early Leadership of the Mormon Church.

This combined with the current Church Leadership’s inability to clearly and specifically reject its own racist teachings both in print and from its past Senior Leadership, has left the Black Race with only a short irresponsible and offensively juvenile Official Statement that claims the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints knows very little about its own race-based policy that had lasted for well over 100 years:

“It is not known precisely why, how or when this restriction began in the Church, but it has ended.”

Maintaining a detailed and comprehensive history of every aspect and teaching of the Church has been both one of the hallmarks and one of the downfalls of Mormon Church.  Within the relatively young Church, authoritative documentation, however corrupt it may have been, has never been in short supply.  Each of the Senior Leaders of the Mormon Church has had several official biographers as well as an army of Church authorized historians to record for the faithful Mormon all facets of the History of the Church.  In fact, one of my first of many “Callings” in the Mormon Church was that of a Ward (Congregational) Historian, long before I became a Bishop.

The peculiar assertion that the Mormon Church itself does not know the details of its very own race-based policy of restricting the Blacks from holding the Priesthood is tremendously embarrassing for all Mormons and exceptionally degrading for anyone who actually believes it.

As a former local leader of the Mormon Church, I have repeatedly assured the African members of the Mormon Church that the documents and “Scriptures” I have read to them over the air are both Authorized and Official for the time period they are relevant to.  I clearly state the current position of total acceptance of all Races by the Church, but I must highlight the fact that the Book of Mormon still carries it’s obviously racist message that dark skin was a curse and Jesus was white.

I have said many times on-air that like the Mormon Missionaries, I too believe that every African should have a copy of the Book of Mormon, if only to learn the truly racist teaching of the Mormons.

I have and will continue to teach the African Nations from the authentic Mormon Scriptures and the Church History documents, which I had purchased from the Mormon Church to know my past responsibilities as a Mormon Bishop. The official records of the Mormon Church include many jokes and sermons given within the Official Semi-Annual General Conference of the faithful Mormons, using the “N-word”, Darky and Sambo.  Additionally, these Church published books record nearly 100 graphic sermons and lessons that clearly teach the principle, practice and policy that Black Skin was, is and will remain forever the Curse of Cain.

Only in the recent past has the “Complete History” of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints come to the attention of its own membership, much less to the under developed regions of the world.  As this information is discovered, an ever increasing number of members of the Mormon Church have come into a personal crisis of faith, most notably Elder Hans Mattsson[3] of Sweden, a General Authority of the Mormon Church who has gone public with his doubts and questions.

Not unique to Africa, has been the Mormon Church’s training of young Missionaries to strictly avoid any discussion of several of the more embarrassing, yet true, teachings of the 183 year old Church. Chief among these subjects has been Polygamy and Blacks and the Priesthood.

With the smooth talent of a skilled politician, the Mormon Church has ended its Official Statement with the following hypocritical and deceitful, but technically accurate quote:

“The origins of priesthood availability are not entirely clear.  Some explanations with respect to this matter were made in the absence of direct revelation and references to these explanations are sometimes cited in publications.  These previous personal statements do not represent Church doctrine.”

As a former Mormon Bishop and member of the Mormon Church for over 32 years, let me be of some help with the translation of this very carefully crafted message. The two key noteworthy phrases are: “in the absence of direct revelation” and “These previous personal statements do not represent Church doctrine.”

I will address the most obvious first, clearly the “previous statements” from the Church and its Leadership “do not” represent the Church doctrine today.  The policy was reversed in 1978 and there is no question as to the policy today. The hypocritical deception is that between 1845 and 1978 those “statements” did, very much “DID” not “DO” represent past Church doctrine.  Yet, I do give full credit to the clever Mormon authors and editors for their most skillful use of the English language.

And finally, the most revealing and enlightening statement from the Mormon Church is: “in the absence of direct revelation”.  So then, it is incredibly true and accurate that without any mockery or sarcasm; The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints had for nearly 100 years, restricted a significant portion of the human race, millions and millions from God’s intended blessings of Eternal Marriage, Salvation and even Godhood, without knowing why they did it, all without “direct revelation”?

This Official Statement of religious shame and embarrassment comes from the Headquarters of a Church that claims to be guided in all things by “direct revelation”.  How then, did such an exclusive doctrine based on prejudice, bigotry and racism become so accepted, so authoritative, so convincing and so commanding for so long, without “direct revelation”?

As a former Bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I give testimony that what they have stated is true, in that, they are racist and do not hide the History of the Church from its members or the public, this, their Official Statement on Race and the Church demonstrates that fact.

I believe that the truly wicked teachings as well as the repulsive history of the Mormon Church concerning Polygamy, Polyandry, Blood Atonement, and Blacks and the Priesthood is available for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear.

It is my prayer that all Mormons and non-Mormons will come to know the true history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  That every man, woman and young adult on the earth today will find the time to read the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price from cover to cover to see the deception they hold, and then read the Word of God with the eyes of a child, and follow the true Jesus, the true Christ found only in the Bible.

Why Race Is Still a Problem for Mormons?

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/19/opinion/sunday/racism-and-the-mormon-church.html?_r=2&hp&

By JOHN G. TURNER
Published: August 18, 2012

“I BELIEVE that in 1978 God changed his mind about black people,” sings Elder Kevin Price in the Broadway musical “The Book of Mormon.” The line is meant to be funny, and it is — in part because it’s true.

In a June 1978 letter, the first presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints proclaimed that “all worthy male members of the Church may be ordained to the priesthood without regard for race or color.” Men of African descent could now hold the priesthood, the power and authority exercised by all male members of the church in good standing. Such a statement was necessary, because until then, blacks were relegated to a very second-class status within the church.

The revelation may have lifted the ban, but it neither repudiated it nor apologized for it. “It doesn’t make a particle of difference,” proclaimed the Mormon apostle Bruce R. McConkie a few months later, “what anybody ever said about the Negro matter before the first day of June of this year, 1978.”

Mr. McConkie meant such words to encourage Mormons to embrace the new revelation, and he may have solemnly believed that it made the history of the priesthood ban irrelevant. But to many others around the country, statements of former church leaders about “the Negro matter” do, in fact, matter a great deal.

They cause pain to church members of African descent, provide cover for repugnant views and make the church an easy target for criticism and satire. The church would benefit itself and its members — and one member in particular, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee — by formally repudiating the priesthood ban and the racist theories that accompanied it.

Mormonism wasn’t always troubled by anti-black racism. In a country deeply stained by slavery and anti-black racism, the church, founded by Joseph Smith in 1830, was noteworthy for its relative racial egalitarianism. Smith episodically opposed slavery and tolerated the priesthood ordination of black men, at least one of whom, Elijah Abel, occupied a position of minor authority.

It was Smith’s successor, Brigham Young, who adopted the policies that now haunt the church. He described black people as cursed with dark skin as punishment for Cain’s murder of his brother. “Any man having one drop of the seed of Cane in him cannot hold the priesthood,” he declared in 1852. Young deemed black-white intermarriage so sinful that he suggested that a man could atone for it only by having “his head cut off” and spilling “his blood upon the ground.” Other Mormon leaders convinced themselves that the pre-existent spirits of black people had sinned in heaven by supporting Lucifer in his rebellion against God.

The priesthood ban had sweeping ecclesiastical consequences for black Mormons. They could not participate in the sacred ordinances, like the endowment ceremony (which prepares one for the afterlife) and sealings (which formally bind a family together), rites that Smith and Young taught were necessary to obtain celestial glory.

Of course, while perhaps unusual in its fervor and particular in its theories, the rhetoric of Mormon leaders was lamentably within the mainstream of white American opinion. White Christians of many denominational stripes used repugnant language to justify slavery and the inferiority of black people. Most accepted theories that the sins of Cain and Ham had cursed an entire race. Indeed, those white Americans who today express outrage over Mormon racism should remind themselves of their own forebears’ sins before casting stones at the Latter-day Saints.

Most Protestant denominations, however, gradually apologized for their past racism. In contrast, while Mormon leaders generically criticize past and present racism, they carefully avoid any specific criticism of past presidents and apostles, careful not to disrupt traditional reverence for the church’s prophets.

To an extent, this strategy has worked. The church is now much more diverse, with hundreds of thousands of members in Africa and many members of African descent in Latin America. In the United States, not all Mormons look like members of the Romney family: Mia Love, a daughter of Haitian immigrants and the Republican nominee for a Utah Congressional seat, proudly states that she has “never felt unwelcome in the church.”

Nevertheless, regardless of how outsiders would respond (audiences will still enjoy that line in “The Book of Mormon”), a fuller confrontation with the past would serve the church’s interests. Journalists frequently ask prominent Mormons like Mr. Romney and Ms. Love about the priesthood ban. African-Americans, both members and prospective converts, find the history distinctly unsettling. Statements by prior church presidents and apostles provide fodder for those Latter-day Saints — if small in number — who adhere to racist notions.

The church could begin leaving those problems behind if its leaders explained that their predecessors had confused their own racist views with God’s will and that the priesthood ban resulted from human error and limitations rather than a divine curse. Given the church’s ecclesiology, this step would be difficult.

Mormons have no reason to feel unusually ashamed of their church’s past racial restrictions, except maybe for their duration. Their church, like most other white American churches, was entangled in a deeply entrenched national sin.

Still, acknowledging serious errors on the part of past prophets inevitably raises questions about the revelatory authority of contemporary leaders. Such concerns, however, are not insurmountable for religious movements. One can look to the Bible for countless examples of patriarchs and prophets who acknowledged grave errors and moral lapses but still retained the respect of their people.

Likewise, the abiding love and veneration most Latter-day Saints have for their leaders would readily survive a fuller reckoning with their human frailties and flaws. The Mormon people need not believe they have perfect prophets, either past or present.

By Moses Michira
Nairobi, Kenya: Drama unfolded at City Hall Friday after Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero allegedly slapped Women Representative Rachel Shebesh during a heated verbal exchange outside his office.

Shebesh, known for her aggressive style, had confronted Kidero over the ongoing county employees’ strike, which has paralysed operations, over unpaid salaries.

The Nairobi women representative had earlier addressed the protesting workers outside Kidero’s office before proceeding to the Governor’s chambers to seek audience with him. Witnesses told The Standard there was a heated exchange though it was unclear what she uttered that could have infuriated Kidero.

According to a video footage circulated on social media, Shebesh is seen outside the Governor’s office jostling for position.

A short but heated argument ensues after Kidero emerged from his office, before he is seen gesticulating and slapping Shebesh, who momentarily staggers before men believed to be her aides steady her.

Kidero then retreats to his office as security personnel intervene.

“Kidero, you have slapped me? You have slapped me Kidero? You have slapped me?” Shebesh is heard crying out. The Governor’s action as captured in the video footage — that attracted lots of reactions on social media — was swift.

One of her aides is also heard asking Kidero why he slapped the legislator. After the slap, the crowd is seen scampering away. Minutes later, Kidero convened a press conference where he claimed he could not remember slapping anybody.

No stranger to controversy
“As far as I can recollect, I was in my office and I do not remember slapping anybody, all I know is that there was a scuffle at my office,” said Kidero. The 4pm incident created a buzz online, with most condemning the leaders for the incident.

Shebesh is not new to controversy. She shot to the limelight early this year when she led women leaders storming offices of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to protest alleged removal of Othaya MP Mary Wambui from the list of candidates for the area’s parliamentary election.

Shebesh reportedly recorded a statement minutes after the incident at a police station inside KICC, some 300 metres across the road from City Hall.

Moments later, Kidero also recorded his statement at the Central Police Station. It was not immediately possible to confirm what either leader said in their respective statements. The matter is, however, expected to drag to court in the coming week.

The confrontation stole the limelight from another altercation between Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko and a radio presenter that happened the day before, in a morning show.

But the fracas between the two elected Nairobi county leaders is not nearly the only high-profile case witnessed in recent times. Ms Nancy Baraza was forced to resign as Deputy Chief Justice after a confrontation with a female guard at a high-end shopping mall in Nairobi on New Year’s Eve of 2012.

Baraza, now a law lecturer at the University of Nairobi, was accused of pinching the nose of Rebecca Kerubo after a brief confrontation that earned the then deputy CJ the title of the ‘nose-pincher’.

Last month, Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri was involved in a confrontation with a female police officer. He is accused of assaulting the female officer when she sought to inspect the vehicle he was travelling in, in Nakuru. The matter is before court.

Marikana massacre
[Op-Ed: Africa]
A little more than a year ago, South African police opened fire on platinum mine workers engaged in a wildcat strike in Marikana, South Africa. When the smoke cleared, more than 30 strikers lay dead with dozens more injured.

Labor problems in South Africa’s mining industry remain unresolved because only days ago, 80,000 gold mineworkers went on strike complaining of “slave wages.”

Lesiba Seshoka of the National Union of Mineworkers is quoted as saying: “The union is aware of the devastating impact industrial action would have on the economy, which is largely a White man’s economy with no benefits for poor Black mineworkers.”

Negotiations broke down and the union demanded a 60% increase in wages after receiving an offer of a 6.5 percent raise. There is a high level of resentment because the union contends that corporate executives have continued to award themselves huge bonuses notwithstanding slumping South African gold sales. Another mineworkers’ union argues that the wage structure for mine laborers is the same as that used during South Africa’s apartheid era. Both observers and those involved have expressed fears of violence.

South Africa’s continuing labor woes suggest that it may be time to commence an escape from the traditional White owner/Black laborer paradigm.

For example, in neighboring Zimbabwe the government has called for the “indigenization” of foreign-owned mines. Under the plan, such mines would be seized and then controlling interest would be transferred to Black Zimbabwean investors. Certainly the potential would remain for the new Black owners to establish an exploitative, oppressive relationship with their employees, but the removal of these valuable natural resources from foreign corporate control is a significant step toward genuine African self-determination.

The South African mineworker dilemma brings into sharp focus the question that has been deliberately ignored, but which has loomed large since the first African finger was lifted decades ago to resist colonialism. That is, who will own and control Africa’s oil, diamonds, gold, platinum, and other mineral wealth?

During the latter phase of the anti-apartheid struggle in South Africa the issue was not effectively addressed by Nelson Mandela’s organization, the African National Congress (ANC). This was likely a deliberate, strategic decision based on an intuitive, if not informed understanding of the violent lengths to which the western corporate establishment will go to retain control of its African operations and resources that are worth uncountable billions of dollars.

The result of the ANC approach was a relatively peaceful transition from White minority to Black majority occupation of government positions, but it merely delayed violent confrontations between the suffering African masses who rightfully demand economic justice and western corporate exploiters.

The Marikana massacre is a prime example. In anticipation of these conflicts, the U.S., acting in the interest of western corporations, has developed U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) as a means of engaging in violent African conflicts with finesse and through proxy African armed forces that AFRICOM trains and directs.

There is no time like the present to return to the question of who will own and control Africa’s wealth. Indigenization is a good start, but the ultimate answer must inevitably involve full-scale nationalization of all major natural resources with genuine control exercised by all of Africa’s people through government structures that ensure not only political democracy, but real economic democracy as well.

Some may worry that nationalization might prompt foreign owners to flee with their capital and machinery, leaving Africans unable to mine their own wealth. However, that and other hazards can be avoided with careful planning.

Foreign owners can be alerted in advance to plans for seizures and a timetable for withdrawal can be developed collaboratively. Winding down and withdrawal can be accomplished in phases giving owners opportunities to leave or even enter into contracts with the African governments for continuing non-proprietary involvement in the country’s mining industry.

Incentive for foreign corporate cooperation with this process can come from regional unity and the consequent elimination of the option of simply relocating to a neighboring country.

In the event that an African country is forced to go it alone without foreign capital and machinery, an investment of the nation’s treasury --in affordable increments if necessary-- in the needed means of production would be money well spent given that mining is highly profitable and likely to result in very high returns for the country.

As always, the risk in all of this is that western governments will manufacture a “crisis” that supposedly justifies a military invasion and the takeover of mining operations.

This only underscores the vital importance of a continent-wide understanding of the high stakes and the necessity of continental unity in the face of such a threat, even if only a single African country is in direct jeopardy. Unity to that degree can prevail, because even western powers would not relish a war against the entire African continent.

Pope Francis assures atheists: You don’t have to believe in God to go to heaven

In comments likely to enhance his progressive reputation, Pope Francis has written a long, open letter to the founder of La Repubblica newspaper, Eugenio Scalfari, stating that non-believers would be forgiven by God if they followed their consciences.

Responding to a list of questions published in the paper by Mr Scalfari, who is not a Roman Catholic, Francis wrote: “You ask me if the God of the Christians forgives those who don’t believe and who don’t seek the faith. I start by saying – and this is the fundamental thing – that God’s mercy has no limits if you go to him with a sincere and contrite heart. The issue for those who do not believe in God is to obey their conscience.

“Sin, even for those who have no faith, exists when people disobey their conscience.”

Robert Mickens, the Vatican correspondent for the Catholic journal The Tablet, said the pontiff’s comments were further evidence of his attempts to shake off the Catholic Church’s fusty image, reinforced by his extremely conservative predecessor Benedict XVI. “Francis is a still a conservative,” said Mr Mickens. “But what this is all about is him seeking to have a more meaningful dialogue with the world.”

In a welcoming response to the letter, Mr Scalfari said the Pope’s comments were “further evidence of his ability and desire to overcome barriers in dialogue with all”.

In July, Francis signalled a more progressive attitude on sexuality, asking: “If someone is gay and is looking for the Lord, who am I to judge him?”
