Fighting sin using the law!!!! Why I do not Support THE ANTI HOMOSEXUALITY BILL. 2009

Fighting sin using the law!!!! Why I do not Support THE ANTI HOMOSEXUALITY BILL. 2009

For the son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them(Luke 9:56)

Why I do not support the bill?

1. I do not support the bill because my Lord Jesus Christ never came to destroy people’s lives but to save people from their sins.

2. We are in the New Testament period where the mosaic law of killing homosexuals has been replaced.

3. There is absolutely no scripture in the New Testament that tells us to fight sin using the state law(municipal law).

4. The first Christians in the book of Acts never fought sin using state law(municipal law).

4. This law is based on hypocrisy and not sincerity. If we are so eager to punish sinners using state law(municipal law), we should aslo execute the politicians in Uganda who have stolen billions of shillings. Corruption is a sin, it is a moral issue. This money could lift millions of Uganda’s poor from absolute poverty. We should also kill fornicators and adulterers-these are also sins.

Misconceptions of the Law

There is a lot of global outcry about the THE ANTI HOMOSEXUALITY BILL. 2009 especially in America. However many people especially in the Diaspora have not understood this law. This law does not punish all homosexual crimes with death. It only punishes one crime i.e. (Aggravated homosexuality) with death. The law states that:

3. Aggravated homosexuality.
(1) A person commits the offense of aggravated homosexuality where the
(a) person against whom the offence is committed is below the age of 18 years;
(b) offender is a person living with HIV;
(c) offender is a parent or guardian of the person against whom the offence is committed;
(d) offender is a person in authority over the person against whom the offence is committed;
(e) victim of the offence is a person with disability;
(f) offender is a serial offender, or
(g) offender applies, administers or causes to be used by any man or woman any drug, matter or
thing with intent to stupefy overpower him or her so as to there by enable any person to have unlawful carnal connection with any person of the same sex,

(2) A person who commits the offence of aggravated homosexuality shall be liable on conviction to suffer death.

(3) Where a person is charged with the offence under this section, that person shall undergo a medical examination to ascertain his or her HIV status.

The Law virtually adds nothing new

The law simply copies from what already exists in the penal code. it must be noted that the law on aggravated homosexuality is already in the penal code. Therefore there is virtually nothing new in this bill. We need to note that having a law is one thing and implementing the law is another. Uganda has laws such as the Enguli(local waragi) Act (this law prohibits the brewing of a local gin called waragi(this waragi is a delicacy for many poor)) and the witchcraft Act, which have not been enforced for so many years. In fact the witchcraft Act was recently declared un constitutional. So, cool down my American friends, this law will not make homosexuals in Uganda extinct. Even if it is passed I believe it will be challenged in court. Many Lawyers have rebelled it redundant and superfluous.

The law is a political Gimmick

The current government of Uganda under president Museveni is using this bill to reap political capital. They want to fool the poor peasants in Uganda that they are pro-family and pro-Uganda yet they know very well that they will not enforce this law. It will simply remain in the books like the Enguli Act.

The law is hash even to heterosexuals

The law intends to punish any one who fails to report an homosexual. The law states that:

14. Failure to disclose the offence.
A person in authority, who being aware of the commission of any offence under this Act, omits
to report the offence to the relevant authorities within twenty-four hours of having first had that knowledge, commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding and fifty currency points or imprisonment not exceeding three years

Christians attack anti-homosexuality bill, 2009 : Bro. Danny McDowell’s criticism of the bill

I would like to remind the Church in Uganda------There are MANY, MANY, MANY, MANY, MANY more Heterosexuals in Uganda that are infected with HIV, than homosexuals. They sit in your Churches. Many of them do not even know that they are infected. There are MANY, MANY more Heterosexuals infected with HIV, than Homosexuals worldwide. There are MULTIPLE TIMES more RAPE and INCEST among heterosexuals, than there are among homosexuals. Are you really willing to STONE every heterosexual adulterer in your midst, or is it just OK with you that you are REPREHENSIBLE HIPOCRITS? You will be judged for your hipocracy if you align yourselves with these SELF Proclaimed "Agents of Christ", who are demanding legislation to execute homosexuals.THEY ARE NOT"AGENTS OF CHRIST"!! They are ANTICHRIST! They are the same as HITLER, who murdered homosexuals along with JEWS, Poles, the mentally disturbed, and physically handicapped. If you are not also willing to EXECUTE that homosexual PREACHER in Kampala------then you are a hipocrit!

If Paul Crouch shows up in your midst----YOU MUST STONE HIM BECAUSE-----
He has been caught RED HANDED in a pay-off of HUSH MONEY from his homosexual lover. Is this what you are willing to open your doors to----a WITCH HUNT in our midst??? Remember these words----"WHAT so ever a man soweth, that shall he also reap!" If the Church sows violence---it will reap the same!

You must pray against this curse that will come upon you if you support such a thing!. It is GOD who will judge homosexuals----not we. REMEMBER-----"JUDGEMENT BEGINS IN GOD'S HOUSE"! Danny McDowell

1 Cor 5:9-6:1
9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked [Christian] person.

Activists denounce Uganda's homosexuality bill

A Ugandan government bill that is advocating the death penalty for gay people will hinder the country's fight against HIV/Aids, legal experts and activists warned this week.

Under the anti-homosexuality bill, now going through parliament, anyone repeatedly "caught" having sex with someone of the same sex faces the death penalty, while people who touch each other in a "gay way" could be jailed.

A clause in the bill also punishes anyone who fails to report an offence within 24 hours of witnessing or finding out about it.

This week, at a public meeting held at Makerere University in Kampala, Rubaramira Ruranga, the executive director of the National Guidance and Empowerment Network of people living with HIV/Aids in Uganda, who is HIV-positive, said: "Fifteen percent of the HIV/Aids spread is as a result of gay activities.

"The best thing is to educate them [homosexuals] because criminalisation causes stigma, discrimination and denied knowledge on HIV/Aids and its treatment."
Others said the bill went "overboard" and should be withdrawn, reported the Daily Monitor.

Sylvia Tamale, a Law don at Makerere and a human right activist, said: "Five of the 18 clauses are problematic from the legal point of view and the attempt to outlaw the promotion of homosexuality will affect everybody because the clauses introduce censorship and undermine freedom of expression, speech, association and assembly."
The Coalition on Human Rights and Constitutional Law (CHRCL) has already expressed its disgust at the bill, saying it is an attempt by some in government to "to whip up sentiments of fear and hatred" by lumping together "predatory sexual acts that violate the rights of vulnerable sections of our society [with] sexual acts between consenting adults".

Valentine Kalende, a spokesman for CHRCL, added that "a better title for this bill would have been the anti-human rights bill".

Despite the outcry over the bill by local and international civil society groups, and criticism from other African leaders, the uproar is seen by some in Uganda as a sign that the country is providing strong leadership.

Uganda's ethics and integrity minister, James Nsaba Buturo, told IPS that "it is with joy we see that everyone is interested in what Uganda is doing, and it is an opportunity for Uganda to provide leadership where it matters most".

David Bahati, the MP who introduced the bill, defended it by saying "homosexuality is not a human right. It is a foreign behaviour imported and promoted by people using the poverty in our country to expound bad behaviour".
